The Biden Administration’s explanation of a “legal” air strike in “self-defense” in Syria on Feb. 25 against Iranian-backed Iraqi groups alleged to be responsible for rocket attacks on U.S. bases and the Green Zone in Baghdad began to fall apart almost as soon as it was delivered. The explanation of the air strike has been rejected officially by Russia, Iran and Syria, by international legal experts and even by progressive members of President Biden’s own party in the U.S. Congress. It has also caused embarrassment for the government in Baghdad despite the administration’s assertion that targets were hit in Syria precisely to avoid problems for the Iraqi government. The Explanation Defense Department spokesman John Kirby told reporters at the Pentagon yesterday that Thursday night’s air strike involved a pair of F-15Es dropping seven precision-guided munitions, which totally destroyed nine facilities and partially destroyed two others, functionally destroying them. “The strike was authorized in response to recent attacks against American and coalition personnel in Iraq and to ongoing threats to those personnel.” The structures were in the city of Abu-Kamal, Syria, near a “terrorist” entry-control point close to the Syria-Iraq border, Kirby said, adding the claim that the location is known to facilitate activity by Iranian-allied militia groups. The target was also in an area known to have also been bombed by Israel but this was not apparently mentioned by Kirby. Kirby claimed that the purpose for striking those targets was twofold: to clearly try to make an impact on the groups and their ability to conduct future attacks and to send a clear signal that the United States is going to protect its people and its interests and those of its partners in the region. “These targets were chosen carefully, very deliberately,” Kirby said. “This really was a defensive strike meant to help protect … American forces and coalition partners,” he said. This is where the logic begins to get really twisted as we shall see. Politico cited unnamed defense officials saying that planning for the strike began on Feb. 15, in the aftermath of the rocket attack on the airport in Erbil, Iraq, but Biden held off on authorizing the strike immediately while officials worked to determine who was responsible for the attack, said the officials. On Feb. 20, a few days after the attack on Erbil, there was another rocket attack on the Iraqi airbase in Balad which wounded a contractor employed in maintaining Iraq’s F-16 fleet which is based there. Politico and other news outlets failed to report, is that the Iraqi security forces were engaged in an operation against ISIS sleeper cells just north of Baghdad at the time, an operation which was being supported by the Iraqi F-16s at Balad. This leads to the suspicion that ISIS may have been behind the attack on Balad, but instead it’s being lumped with the Erbil and Green Zone attacks as if Iran were responsible. Unlike with the Erbil attack, no group is reported to have claimed credit for the attack on Balad. The Pentagon presented Biden with a broad range of military options, according to a defense official, the Politico report continues. Biden chose the “middle” option, limiting the number of targets in order to keep collateral damage and civilian casualties to a minimum. Officials went through a “rigorous process” ahead of the strike, including a legal review, the spokesperson said. In ordering the operation, Biden acted “pursuant to inherent self-defense powers enshrined in our Constitution and the UN Charter.” “The targets were chosen to correspond to the recent attacks and to deter the risk of additional attacks over the coming weeks,” the spokesperson said. “The strikes were necessary to address the threat and proportionate to the prior attacks.” Biden made the strategic decision to conduct the strike in Syria, rather than on Iraqi soil, in order to avoid pressure on the Iraqi government, the official said. Biden’s decision to attack in Syria did not appear to signal an intention to widen U.S. military involvement in the region but rather to demonstrate a will to defend U.S. troops in Iraq and send a message to Iran, claimed The Associated Press. Legal Assessments Legal experts, however, are rejecting the administration’s logic as incompatible with international law. A National Security Council spokesperson told Alex Ward of Vox news site that the administration has two main legal arguments for why Biden had the authority to retaliate against Iranian-backed proxies operating on the Syria-Iraq border. Both of them rely on the idea that responding to the last two weeks’ attacks on coalition facilities counts as self-defense. Regarding domestic law, the spokesperson said, “the President took this action pursuant to his Article II authority to defend U.S. personnel.” Article II of the Constitution names the President as the commander-in-chief of the military. Mary Ellen O’Connell, a professor at Notre Dame and co-author of Self-Defense Against Non-State Actors, told Ward that the administration got international law all wrong. Article 51 of the UN Charter states that “Nothing in the present Charter shall impair the inherent right of individual or collective self-defence if an armed attack occurs against a Member of the United Nations, until the Security Council has taken measures necessary to maintain international peace and security.” O’Connell said the attack wasn’t on the American homeland, and the U.S. surely had enough time to work with UN Security Council partners to punish Iran using diplomacy—not force. That means Biden’s team either willfully misread what that provision says or didn’t comprehend its true meaning. “They are citing the correct sources of law,” O’Connell said, but “they are wildly misinterpreting them.” Adil Ahmad Haque, a Professor of Law at Rutgers Law School, argues that there are two reasons why the attack violated international law. “The airstrikes did not repel an ongoing armed attack, halt an imminent one, or immediately respond to an armed attack that was in fact over but may have appeared ongoing at the time,” he writes in a commentary on “Just Security” online forum. “And the airstrikes were carried out on the territory of another State, without its consent, against a non-State actor (or two, or more). These two reasons, combined, are decisive. It cannot be lawful to use armed force on the territory of another State when it is clear that no armed attack by a non-State actor is ongoing or even imminent.” The “ongoing threats” that the Pentagon cited were not an imminent attack, Haque goes on. “The United States is free to take lawful action in Iraq to improve the long-term security of its forces and contractors in Iraq,” Haque says. “It may not legally take military action in Syria to improve the long-term security of its forces and contractors in Iraq.” Haque reports that the State Department said after the Erbil attack that “we will respond in a way that’s calculated within our own timetable and using a mix of tools at a time and place of our choosing.” But: “That is not how international law works. The use of armed force is lawful only if, when, and where it is necessary. The U.S. government appears to concede that it was not necessary to strike inside Syria. It was merely convenient.” Furthermore, “A proportionate military response to a previous armed attack, that is clearly over, is not proportionate self-defense. That is an armed reprisal. And even proportionate armed reprisals are illegal.” “The U.S. airstrikes were not defensive. They were expressive,” Haque concludes. “The Pentagon says that the operation ‘sends an unambiguous message: President Biden will act to protect American and coalition personnel.’ The operation sends another message: President Biden will violate international law, much like his predecessors.” Congressional Responses Democrats and Republicans in Congress are also questioning the legality because the strike was launched without Congressional consultation. “Offensive military action without congressional approval is not constitutional absent extraordinary circumstances,” said Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA). “Congress must be fully briefed on this matter expeditiously.” “We need to extricate from the Middle East, not escalate,” progressive Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), said in a statement Feb. 26. “The President should not be taking these actions without seeking explicit authorization instead of relying on broad, outdated [authorizations]. I spoke against endless war [under] Trump, and I will speak out against it when we have a Democratic President.” Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) highlighted a 2017 tweet from current White House press secretary Jen Psaki that criticized then-President Donald Trump’s decision to bomb Syria in retaliation for a chemical weapons attack. “What is the legal authority for strikes?” Psaki asked, stating “Syria is a sovereign country.” Omar tweeted in response: “Great question.” Omar told CNN that “We in Congress have congressional oversight in engaging in war and we haven’t been briefed yet and we have not authorized war in Syria.” Republican Reps. Nancy Mace, SC; Jim Banks, IN.; Rand Paul, KY; and Lauren Boebert, CO, also protested the attack. Russian, Iranian, Israeli Official Responses In Moscow, a reporter asked Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to comment on the U.S. air strike in Syria during a joint press conference with his Afghanistan counterpart. In addition to repeating that they were given only a five-minute warning of the attack, that the U.S. presence in Syria is illegal under international law, that they are stealing Syrian oil, and that the U.S. forces are blocking even humanitarian aid to the areas of Syria under control of the legitimate government, He also made the following announcement: “Recently, we have been receiving information from various sources (we cannot confirm them yet, and we want to ask the Americans directly) that they are allegedly in the process of making a decision never to leave Syria and even to break up that country.” Lavrov went on that the deconfliction arrangement is important, but aos said: “we believe it’s important to resume political and diplomatic contacts. We hope that the new U.S. administration will soon form its teams to deal with these matters. It is important for us to understand how Washington will be building its strategy on the ground and in the region, since the United States is voting for resolutions confirming the need to respect Syria’s sovereignty, political independence and territorial integrity.” The Iranians, for their part, finally spoke up late yesterday. Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said in a statement: “The attacks … have taken place in a context in which U.S. forces have illegally entered Syrian territory in recent years, occupying areas of the country and plundering its natural resources, including oil,” which rightfully belong to the Syrian nation, Khatibzadeh said, PressTV reported. “Illegal U.S. bases on Syrian soil also train terrorist forces and use them as tools,” he further said. He also denounced the U.S. attacks as a clear violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity that would exacerbate military conflicts and further destabilize the region. The Israelis, on the other hand, are delighted with the U.S. strike. Times of Israel reported yesterday that unnamed officials told the Walla news site: “The Iranians didn’t realize that Biden is not Obama, and that if they will continue down this road of miscalculation they will eventually get hit.” The report added that Washington had notified Israel in advance of the airstrikes. Iraq Rejects U.S. Claims of Cooperation The administration also complicated things for Baghdad, which it expressly said it was trying to avoid. Kirby caused a bit of a scandal in Baghdad when he stated, during his briefing yesterday, that Secretary of Defense Austin “was very sincere when he praised our Iraqi partners for the investigative and intelligence work they did. There was some very good work done on the intelligence side that helped lead to these successful strikes.” “We deny this,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement, reported Sputnik. Baghdad’s cooperation with the international coalition is limited to the “fight against terrorism threatening Iraq, in a form that allows for preserving the country’s sovereignty and security,” the statement read. The Interior Ministry issued a similar statement saying “the cooperation with the international coalition is limited to developing the security forces’ field skills to improve the police work in maintaining the internal security, fighting crime, and achieving societal peace,” reported Shafaq News. “Accordingly, no intelligence information has been exchanged by the ministry agencies and the international coalition forces related to the aforementioned airstrike.” After these denials, Kirby was forced to walk back his original statement. “The Iraqi government is investigating who launched rockets on its soil in recent days and weeks.” He said on Twitter yesterday, “But to be clear: we did not use Iraqi information to develop our targets for last night’s strikes.”
Join us LIVE on Sunday at 11am EST. Elliot Greenspan introduces Lyndon LaRouche's 1994 keynote address to the Schiller Institute/ICLC President's Day conference. The conference took place just weeks after Mr. LaRouche was released from his unjust incarceration.
The U.S. bombing of a reportedly Iran-backed militia site in Syria Thursday night, claiming it was a defensive strike to protect U.S. forces in Iraq, has been denounced by a wide assortment of political and professional sources in many countries as a severe breach of international law and of the U.S. Constitution. Congress members from both parties have decried the deadly attack for breaching both the U.S. Constitution, which requires Congressional approval for acts of war except when the nation is under direct attack, and the UN Charter. The question to be asked: Will the Biden Cabinet lead the U.S. back into “regime change wars?” President Donald Trump was unable to implement his intention to end the “endless wars” launched by Bush and Obama, as the military-industrial complex (which Trump directly accused of demanding new wars on behalf of the weapons producers) countermanded his orders to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Trump was successful in not allowing any new wars, but now President Biden has Antony Blinken as his Secretary of State. It was Blinken, as Obama’s Deputy National Security Advisor and Deputy Secretary of State, who led the campaign to carry out a regime change war against Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, falsely accusing Assad of using chemical weapons against his population, a lie manufactured by British intelligence. Was the Thursday night attack in Syria a trial balloon for the war party to get back to serving as the military hitman for British colonial wars? There is at the same time an effort by world leaders to convince the Biden Administration to head off the escalating danger of war against Iran, a war which would certainly escalate the potential for a wider war with Russia and China. The Democrats under Obama negotiated the original deal with Iran, the JCPOA, which even leading Israeli military and intelligence officials believe was highly beneficial for preventing nuclear proliferation (despite Bibi Netanyahu’s mad ravings against it). But bombing Iran-backed forces, who are directly collaborating with the Iraqi government in fighting the remnants of the terrorist ISIS networks, could undermine any new talks with Tehran—perhaps what the war party intended by this air assault in Syria. The U.S. population must be freed from the Cold War mentality of “us vs them,” of the geopolitical division of the world into warring blocs. These are not questions of political parties, nor of personalities. The Pompeo fanatics are fully deployed to make sure Trump does not return to his original intention to be friends with both Russia and China and opposed to purposeless wars, a major reason for his 2016 election and the huge support he received in the 2020 election. On the other side, the Democrats support from a majority of working people and minorities will not hold if the nation returns to perpetual war, and certainly not if the Green New Deal lays waste to the industrial and agricultural workforce. The City of London rag, The Economist, heralded this week their increasingly successful effort to impose the Royal Family’s Malthusian genocide on the American people through the Green New Deal, the “Great Reset.” Under the title “Decarbonizing America,” they promote a study by Princeton’s Center for Energy and Environment to massively increase the production of windmills and solar panels (which proved their destructive role in the disaster in Texas last week), aimed at attaining 50% of American energy usage by “renewables” by 2030. They admit that this process would eventually require the building of wind farms and solar fields covering 600,000 sq. km—more land area than Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois combined. It appears they believe we will not need this vast area of land for productive purposes any longer, since they will have reduced the nation’s population by at least half by that time. The Schiller Institute and The LaRouche Organization will sponsor an international conference on March 20 to address the global crisis as a whole. As Lyndon LaRouche repeatedly emphasized, there is no solution to the economic crisis, nor the health crisis, nor the strategic crisis, nor the cultural crisis, one at a time. Civilization is at a turning point, a “punctum saliens,” in which either a new paradigm for humanity as a whole is implemented, through the collaboration of the great cultures of the world, or the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse will soon be upon us. Join the March 20 event, become a member of the Schiller Institute, and sign on to The LaRouche Organization mailing list.
Join us LIVE on Saturday at 2pm EST. The devastation and death across major portions of the US and Mexico from the polar vortex was not a “natural disaster,” but the man-made result of the systemic takedown of reliable fossil fuel and nuclear power plants, replaced by the primitive and unreliable use of sun and wind. This result was warned against in the EIR Special Report, “Great Leap Backwards – LaRouche Exposes the Green New Deal,” released just days before the polar vortex, demonstrating that this is the disaster awaiting the entire world if the Green New Deal is not replaced by international cooperation to deal with the global pandemic and economic breakdown with modern technologies, infrastructure and industrial development. Instead, we are witnessing the open mobilization by the US and its NATO allies for military confrontation with Russia and China, bringing the world to the brink of nuclear annihilation. Experts on China and Russia, as well as experts on the actual, galactic causes of climate change, will join this Schiller Institute Roundtable Forum, to discuss the urgent steps required to avoid the twin disasters of war and economic disintegration, and pose the changes in international relations required to turn the current crisis into a new paradigm of peace through development. We invite you and your friends and associates to join us.
The comments from Moscow this morning took the high ground of principle, in responding to the U.S. late-Feb. 25 bombing of Abu Kamal in eastern Syria, which the U.S. described as a ‘proportional’ retaliation for terrorist hits on U.S. forces in Iraq last week, accusing them as having come from Iran-sponsored militia. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the United States should, “Stop trying to settle scores through geopolitics.” Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that U.S. mil-to-mil authorities gave Russia advance notice of a bare few minutes before the strike. The U.S. action all around is in the crazed tradition of neo-con Michael Pompeo, as well as his replacement neo-lib Antony Blinken, and both are in the tradition of Mother Britain’s geopolitical gamesmanship of perpetual strife—constantly playing off each against the other. The opposite policy of mutual-interest development, as the means for peace is urgent to understand and initiate. The Southwest Asia region especially is bleeding. On March 1, World Food Program Director David Beasley will speak at an event titled “Silent Emergency,” hosted by Sweden and Switzerland, to raise funding for aid to Yemeni children. The suffering and permanent damage to a whole generation in the Arabian Peninsula must be stopped. The greater Southwest Asian region is urgently in need of the “Land-Bridge” policy approach put forward over decades by statesman-economist Lyndon LaRouche, with its programs of development corridors, the “Oasis Plan” for plentiful water, and other beautiful realistic visions. Already on the ground in Syria and Iraq there are precious potential initiatives. In Iran, for example, rail lines are going ahead, despite the pandemic and foreign relations crises. Further, the entire world is in need of the same development approach—as is embodied in China’s Belt and Road Initiative, given the impact of the pandemic and famine. In 2020, Schiller Institute President Helga Zepp-LaRouche convened a Committee of the Coincidence of Opposites—named after the concept of Nicholas of Cusa, for common interest action, especially for health and food security, and for mutual cultural respect and hope for youth and the future. Look at two basic aspects of the reality of the physical economic down-spiral, accelerating in the absence of deliberate pro-development collaboration and concrete action. Electricity. On Jan. 8, the entire European power grid came within minutes of blackout, saved only by rapid, selected shedding of power usage. On Feb. 15, the Texas-centered central North American grid did fail, giving Texans long outages, and also involving days of scheduled, rolling blackouts in at least 14 U.S. and 26 Mexican states. What happens next month? In Africa, half of the population of the continent has no electricity at all. Food. The Food and Agriculture Organization’s monthly reporting shows that basic staples have been rising in price—especially grain (wheat, rice, corn), for eight months straight, and grain supplies are heading into a “tight” condition—polite jargon for shortage. The world already had too little food for over 800 million people, and now 270 million at least are in a desperate state. Many factors are hitting at the same time, not surprising in a pandemic. For example, there is the potential impact of Winterkill from recent frigid weather in the U.S. Wheat Belt. Corn prices as of last month were over 40% higher than the price level in January the year earlier. Even in these fast-worsening times, collaboration and reason can save the day. Look at the very sane decision this week from French authorities to approve a 10-year extension on its national fleet of 32 nuclear power reactors, many of which were built in the 1980s for a 40-year service life, but are very safe to continue for the next decade. The obstacle and enemy in all this is the green onslaught, which asserts, through fake science, the fake narrative that human economic activity must be cut back to save the planet, and save “nature.” An ugly example is today’s international online conference hosted by the UN, “To Boost ‘Nature-Positive’” agriculture, which states that the environment comes first, eating comes second. This is part of the countdown to a September UN Summit on “New World Food Systems,” convened by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres last year, in the drive for the Great Reset. It is a must to read and circulate the EIR Special Report, “The Great Leap Backward: LaRouche Exposes the Green New Deal.” In the section, “A Disaster for the United States,” author Paul Gallagher begins with the key principle involved. He quotes Lyndon LaRouche saying, “Man, unlike the beasts, is able to change his population density by development.” So beware of the opposite. Gallagher writes, “The human species is, we must realize, also tragically able to decrease its population density by great masses of unnecessary deaths, either by war, or by intentionally reversing development, forcing into reverse the advance of mankind’s scientific and technological capability.” We can make all the difference in preventing this reversal. Spread the word on the second in the series of Schiller Institute Virtual Roundtable Forums taking place Saturday, Feb. 27 at 2 to 5 p.m. Eastern. It is titled, “Winter Storm Smashes Green New Deal Utopia—Great Power Cooperation Instead of War.”
As the global cartels pushing the deadly Great Reset and Green New Deal transformation are moving full-speed ahead, driven by desperation as their system is collapsing, the unique strategic solution to this civilizational crisis was provided by Lyndon LaRouche in his Four Power Agreement. To defeat an empire, you need an alliance of sovereign nations, which possess the economic and military power to defeat the imperial forces centered in London, Wall Street, and Silicon Valley. The modern Military Industrial Complex targeted Donald Trump due to his efforts to form a cooperative, mutually-beneficial relationship with Russia and China.
Will President Biden follow in the footsteps of Mike Pompeo, President Trump’s obnoxiously aggressive Secretary of State, in U.S. relations with Russia and China? That is the question that the governments of Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping are asking, one month into the new administration in Washington. The future of war and peace for the planet hangs in the balance. The answer does not lie with personalities or public remarks—there have been many, and often contradictory statements issued in recent weeks—but with the dynamics of the underlying drive for war created by the bankrupt trans-Atlantic financial system. Helga Zepp-LaRouche addressed this issue at the very outset of her Feb. 24 weekly webcast. After noting that Biden had recently stated, both in his G7 and his Munich Security Conference speeches, that he did not want confrontation between East and West, nor a new Cold War, Zepp-LaRouche remarked: “So, while I don’t want to exaggerate this as such, one has to see it in the context that the relationship between the United States and China is the most important strategic relationship for the future of humanity. For the simple reason that these are the two largest economies, that China is involved with Russia in a strategic alliance, and that, therefore, [it is key] to not have a confrontation and not continue where it was at the end of the Trump Administration, which was completely governed by the China-bashers such as Pompeo, Navarro, and their ilk.” Zepp-LaRouche noted that Biden’s is a new administration, “so we have to see. I’m not making a judgment at this point” on his Russia and China policies. She also stressed that when President Trump first came into office, “in the beginning, in the election campaign 2016, and throughout the earlier part of Trump’s administration, he said many times, that to have a good relationship with Russia and China is a good thing and not a bad thing. But then we saw how, increasingly, under the strategic pressure, and pressure from the neocons and from the military-industrial complex, Trump more and more capitulated to their confrontational line, especially in respect to China. By April of last year, he started to blame China for COVID, and all kinds of other things. So by the end of the Trump administration, unfortunately, the relationship with Russia and China was at a historic low.” With such pressures being brought to bear on Republicans and Democrats alike in Washington by the hit-men of the bankrupt international financial system, both Beijing and Moscow have always taken special note of the clear, unambiguous voice of Lyndon LaRouche coming from the United States, for defining a new basis for U.S. relations with China and with Russia. For example, China Youth Daily, the second-most widely read newspaper in China, reaching an audience of some 10 million people, ran a lead article in its July 24, 2009, edition based on an interview they had conducted with Lyndon LaRouche. Entitled “The Present International Financial System Cannot Be Saved,” the article reported: “LaRouche proposes that the U.S. put the present financial system through bankruptcy proceedings and return to the system set up by Alexander Hamilton, and through the establishment of a national bank begin to issue credit for reviving U.S. industry. On the international level, this principle can then be extended to the world economy by means of treaty agreements among sovereign nations. Establishing an international system of fixed exchange rates among currencies would determine the price of commodities, and the treaty arrangements would provide the needed credit,” the article continued. “LaRouche believes that if the United States, China, Russia, and India, as sovereign nations which encompass the greatest area of the world, and contain the largest population in the world, were to come together around agreement on financial arrangements, this would provide immediately the basis of a new world financial system. LaRouche believes that the development of Asia will, in the future, take the lead in the development of humanity, and that China is the key to the Eurasian continent.” Today, a dozen years after those remarks, the voice for that LaRouche policy is to be found with Helga Zepp-LaRouche, and with The LaRouche Organization.
The efforts of President Trump to "end the endless wars" did not succeed, as he was blocked by an alliance committed to continuing those wars, which unfortunately included some of his own administration officials and War Hawk Republicans, who worked together with Democratic neocons, media, Big Tech and think tanks to sabotage a break with imperial geopolitical provocations. With Russiagate proven to have been a fraud from the start, is it now possible to break from geopolitical confrontation? LaRouche's conception of a Four Power agreement remains the best option to escape from the threat coming from the War Hawks -- join with us to once and for all form the strategic alliances necessary to break the control of the global corporate cartels of the "Military Industrial Complex".
Mike Billington, a co-author of the EIR Special Report "Great Leap Backward -- LaRouche Exposes the Green New Deal," will be on the Thursday night LaRouche Fireside Chat call. He will address the coup taking place in the entire western group of nations, as the Central Banks and their allied "Too big to fail" private financial institutions seize power from sovereign governments over their economies, dictating who gets credit and who is cut off and left to die, based on their fake science of carbon induced climate change. Counter to that New Dark Age, he will discuss the urgency of nations joining together in the New Silk Road plan of Lyndon and Helga LaRouche, already in partial implementation under China's Belt and Road Initiative.
The U.S. government is in crisis, its people divided into increasingly polarized camps, while the financial and corporate oligarchy is taking advantage of the chaos to push its plan for a "Great Reset"—a global banker's dictatorship—and a deadly "Green New Deal." With neocons and War Hawks controlling the strategic policy of both parties, and neoliberals running financial and economic policy, there is only one solution, presented in September 2012 by Lyndon LaRouche: End the "Party System", confronting our citizens with their responsibility "for being accountable for what government is, and what it becomes," under our Constitution. LaRouche's speech can be found at: The Power To Do Good: Mankind Has a Special Destiny in the Universe as We Know It, by Lyndon H. LaRouche, Jr. (Sep 9, 2012).
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi gave the keynote speech Monday at the Lanting Forum on Promoting Dialogue and Cooperation and Managing Differences, focused entirely on US-China relations. Wang addressed the urgency for a reactivation of dialogue between the world’s two largest economies after the disastrous breakdown in relations under President Trump’s anti-China cabinet members Pompeo, Wray, Navarro, and others. The Global TImes coverage of the event took note that President Joe Biden did not “agree with allies at the G7 summit and Munich Security Conference on confronting China together.” This must be surprising to most Americans, since the Western press only reported that Biden had reiterated the common complaints about both China and Russia and called for the allies to work together in confronting them. However, what went unreported from Biden’s speech in the western press was the following: “It is not about pitting East against West. It’s not about, ‘we want a conflict.’ We want a future where all nations are able to freely determine their own path without a threat of violence or coercion. We cannot and must not return to the reflexive opposition and rigid blocs of the Cold War.”Will Biden be able to implement such a retreat from the British imperial “divide and conquer” policies driven by British intelligence and their assets in the US intelligence community, the media, and the Congress? A much stronger president, Donald Trump, who was elected on his promise to be friends with Russia and China, and to end the “endless wars,” was thoroughly stymied in that effort by the overwhelming power of Wall Street and the military-industrial complex. Indeed, we stand at the brink of global nuclear war due to this McCarthyite madness. But the fact that Biden made such a sane statement about super power relations must be taken seriously, as China’s leadership has done, while we organize the required support among the population to bring that result about. The Global Times also took note that the Biden Administration has taken several steps to reverse the Pompeo attacks on China and China’s sovereign interests, which change has also been ignored by the established media (see below). The most critical issue standing in the way of such an opening to global cooperation among the world’s nations, to address the multi-pronged crisis of civilization, is that Joe Biden, and his entire team of controllers, have vigorously endorsed the genocidal Green New Deal, a policy to force governments to relinquish their sovereignty over their economies to the international banking establishment—i.e., to the British Empire itself. As thoroughly documented in the EIR Special Report, The Great Leap Backward—LaRouche Exposes the Green New Deal, the central banks and the private mega-banks and non-banks are taking power over sovereign economies by determining which firms shall be allowed to attain credit and which shall not, based not on the potential productivity and profitability of a firm’s intention, but rather on the carbon emitted in the process, based on the fraudulent pseudo-science of anthropogenic climate change. Biden is not about to give up on this genocidal scheme, but the political crisis in the United States has reached such a point that the traditional institutions, including both political parties, are crumbling, just as the western financial bubble has reached its breaking point. People of all political and social strata, of all races and nationalities, are now confronting the intentional destruction of the idea of progress itself, both in the US and in Europe, under the “Great Reset” dictates of the banker’s cartel centered at the World Economic Forum, with Prince Charles as their public figure promoting Malthusian de-population. There is an ugly irony posed by the self destruction of scientific economies on Earth while three nations are in orbit around Mars, holding the promise of Mankind’s potential to be citizens of the solar system, and even of the galaxy. One cannot get to Mars with windmills. One cannot even sustain the current world population with windmills. The Chicken Littles of the Green New Deal must look at Texas to see what their fantasies will bring to all of America and to the world. On Saturday, the Schiller Institute will sponsor its second Roundtable forum, on the danger of the anti-China and anti-Russia hysteria leading to war, and the equally deadly impact of the Green New Deal. Register here, and mobilize your friends and neighbors to attend.
As the Texas Deep Freeze has exposed the deadly consequences of mixing the low energy-flux-density policies of the Green New Deal with the neoliberal policies to deregulate and privatize electricity production, to increase the profits of private corporations, the "air space" surrounding Mars is full of inspirational promise for scientific discoveries to define the future.
The devastating effects of the Texas Deep Freeze and the continued polarization pushed by those behind Russiagate make clear that the United States remains trapped in a Neocon/Neolib paradigm which is propelling the nation, and the world, to a perilous future.
Major national media (CNN, AP, Washington Post, etc.) have quickly started adding the words “false” or “falsely” whenever referring to charges by elected officials or experts that wind turbine freezing set off the Texas disaster. This may signal that social media giant monopolists will soon start censoring such statements. Consider that the anti-nuclear, anti-coal policies of Green power brokers as Governors Andrew Cuomo of New York and Gavin Newsom of California can be effectively attacked as pushing more “Texas” calamities. That’s why the media are activated against public knowledge of what happened. But burning money doesn’t generate power. And low-density interruptible electric generators don’t generate power reliably. More fine-tuned data are available showing how the failure of wind power triggered the calamity in Texas. The data-driven research firm Cascend created charts of ERCOT’s power generation reports, by source and by day, and found a pattern not previously understood by most. The wind turbines across Texas, with their rated capacity in the winter of 25.1 GW, fluctuated wildly all during February with some points as low as 3-4 GW actually generated, some as high as 22 GW. But then on Tuesday, Feb. 9, as the polar vortex began settling down across Texas, wind power generation fell precipitously to 2 GW, rebounded over that week only to 8 GW at most, and fell by Sunday-Monday Feb. 14-15 back down to 2 GW and was below 4 GW through Wednesday Feb. 17. That’s 80-90% of the rated wind capacity gone for more than a week, the loss of nearly 20 GW of power generation. In fact, that was a loss of nearly 20% of all power generation. Cascend’s charts show that natural gas power production ramped up slowly but strongly during the days from the 9th to the 18th, going from about 15 GW of generation to briefly as high as 40 GW on Sunday, Feb. 14—at which point it was replacing the lost wind power—but then failed on the disastrous Monday, Feb. 15, dropping back down to 25 GW. For that day and the following two, gas power was making up only about half of the lost wind power. (The small amount of solar power capacity that Texas has installed, rarely generating as much as 8-9% of total power, disappeared entirely.) Coal-fired and nuclear power generation also fell from Feb. 13 onward, but by much smaller amounts; they fell from a combined total of about 35% of power generated, to about 25%, with most of the loss coming from reduced generation by coal plants.
Join us LIVE this Saturday at 2pm EST.
On February 20, 2021, Helga Zepp-LaRouche addressed an audience of 150 youth and others on the topic of, on the one hand, the great danger which the “Great Reset/Green New Deal” poses to civilization, and on the other, the great potential for a new paradigm as indicated by the international cooperation which led to three successful missions to Mars over the recent weeks. “So I think the choices are very clear: The Great Reset going into the Dark Age, and space cooperation leading to a new era of civilization.”
It is astonishing that the countries with the world’s most unstable electricity grids and highest electricity prices, particularly Germany and Denmark, most aggressively and suicidality keep promoting the great technological leap backward called the Green Deal or “Great Reset.” Now look at the United States. After an absolute economic calamity and deadly human disaster due to Texas’ deregulated electricity grid and the widespread failure of its ubiquitous wind turbines in a freezing storm, Wall Street billionaires, Biden’s administration and national media continue promoting the Green New Deal folly as if nothing had happened. Now this must be stopped, and EIR’s super-timely Special Report exposing the Green New Deal’s “Great Leap Backward,” is only one step in what Lyndon LaRouche would do now. The U.S. economy—and moreso, those of Europe—have been thrown into reverse. What LaRouche in 1995 introduced as his “Triple Curve/Typical Collapse Function,” signaling the financial collapse of an economy, had three features: geometrically increasing rise in debt (“financial aggregates”); monetary aggregate rising even more rapidly in an attempt to liquefy good and bad debt alike; and the physical economy in accelerating decline. At the end of 2020 total global debt reached $281 trillion according to the Bank for International Settlements, up $21 trillion or 7.5% in just a year. Total U.S. debt rose to $69 trillion, up 11% during the past year. The Federal Reserve’s balance sheet has reached $7.6 trillion, indicating it has doubled bank reserves in 16 months by monetizing Treasury debt and buying mortgage-backed securities (MBS) from big banks—including another $90 billion in the past week alone. The U.S. money supply (M2) has increased by 26% in the year since February 2020, the largest one-year jump since 1943. And the physical economy? Some 19 million people received unemployment benefits in the week ending Feb. 7, with 7 million more “out of the workforce but wanting work” according to the Labor Department; that is 16% unemployment. That is LaRouche’s Triple Curve “Typical Collapse Function”—financial collapse or hyperinflationary explosion. Some market experts like Michael Burry of “The Big Short” fame now foresee the latter coming soon. Wall Street’s banks continue to go further out on speculative limbs. According to the FDIC, U.S.-based banks, as of Feb. 10, have received $800 billion in additional deposits since July 2020, while their loans and leases outstanding have dropped by nearly $300 billion in the same seven months. Concentrating on the biggest Wall Street banks, they have continued shifting their assets to trading desks and “fixed income” interest rate arbitrage: JPMorgan Chase from 34% of assets last January to 42% now; Goldman Sachs from 63% to 78%; Morgan Stanley from 50% to 56%, and so on. What must be done in such danger, LaRouche showed, is to use new national credit, to rapidly add new productive employment and increase productivity in production generally by technological breakthroughs in new economic infrastructure—for example, in nuclear power, crash programs for fusion power and space exploration, very high-speed transportation of people, goods, machinery. If, instead, we allow the Green New Deal’s “great leap backward” in human productivity, with such throwback technology as just failed in Texas—if we allow the governors of other states to push through this “Texas model” of wind and natural gas backup—we will pay very dearly in human life. We know what Lyndon LaRouche said must be done in such a situation. Put through a Glass-Steagall reform to break up Wall Street’s speculative casinos, and quickly create a national credit facility by nationalizing the Federal Reserve or creating a Hamiltonian national bank. Inject that credit into the economy through infrastructure agencies in particular, to create new productive employment and raise productivity with new technologies—exactly what the trillions in so-called COVID “relief” spending has not done. Pay farmers fair prices to raise and process food. Take the breakthroughs of the spacecraft at Mars and put human beings on the Moon again. EIR just published its special report, “The Great Leap Backward: LaRouche Exposes the Green New Deal,” in order to speed those actions Lyndon LaRouche would have insisted on.
In the aftermath of the Texas Deep Freeze, which was caused by a combination of environmentalist insanity, and neoliberal deregulation, the Biden administration is doubling down, with a call for an international summit on "Earth Day", to "fight climate change." The issue of "climate change" is based on a fraudulent narrative, to impose drastic population reduction worldwide through reviving the British Empire's Malthusian dogma, which was designed in the 18th century to defend the looting which sustained the empire.
On Feb. 9, less than one week before the polar vortex struck Texas on Feb. 14, and the electricity system broke down over a multi-state area, two representatives of The LaRouche Organization, Joel DeJean and Joe Jennings, addressed the Houston City Council and the Mayor of Houston in a public session on the danger facing Texas, and the world, from the Green New Deal. Their warning was indeed prophetic, as have been the warnings from Lyndon LaRouche and his association for the past 50 years.JOEL DEJEAN: My name is Joel DeJean, and I want to warn the City Council and the Mayor to avoid the suicide pact known as the Green New Deal, the Great Reset. Houston, the energy capital of the world, is in the crosshairs. The Houston Chronicle reported that three major oil companies lost $60 billion over the recent period. Fossil fuels have allowed the world to go from 1 billion people in 1900 to close to 8 billion people today. As an electrical engineer who worked in Dallas for many years for Texas Instruments, I can tell you the dirty little secret about electric cars. Petroleum has 40 times the energy density of the best electric battery available today, lithium ion…. If we replace half of the automobiles in America today—over 150 million cars to replace—we would have to increase cobalt production worldwide by 12 times, lithium 6 times, copper 4 times, and rare earths 10 times. And where would we get the electricity? We would have to double the electricity production, and if we eliminate natural gas turbines, coal plants, and nuclear plants, and depend on windmills, which have an availability of less than 40%, and solar panels, with an availability of less than 25%—we’ll be heading for brownouts and blackouts. What we should be doing is mass producing small modular nuclear reactors, 70-200 MW. We should fully fund the Artemis program to keep the schedule to get back to the Moon by 2024, where there happen to be deposits of helium-3, the best fuel for fusion power. JOE JENNINGS: I am Joe Jennings, a resident of Houston, a 44-year associate of the physical economist Lyndon LaRouche. This Friday, Feb. 12, Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, will also be two years since the death of Mr. LaRouche at age 96. On that day, The LaRouche Organization will release a white paper entitled “The Great Leap Backward: LaRouche Exposes the Green New Deal.” With this paper we will expose a deadly swindle known as Green Finance, which was the central subject of the January conference of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Put simply, the billionaires, hedge fund operators and the titled nobility of Davos intend to use the contrived hysteria about so-called man-made climate change to divert trillions of dollars away from industrial and agricultural activities which sustain human life, into a bonanza of speculation in carbon futures, centered in the City of London financial hub. They will enforce the reduction of carbon dioxide to net zero, the level of the pre-industrial age. The consequence will be to reduce the human population itself, as passionately advocated by conference coordinator, Prince Charles of the House of Windsor. As stated by Mark Carney, former head of the Bank of England, and later the UN Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance: “Firms which have aligned their business models with the net zero carbon world will be rewarded handsomely. Those that fail to adapt will cease to exist.” This will be a global corporatist dictatorship by private finance, choking off credit to farms and industries unless they pay tribute in the form of carbon offsets to the Lords of London. Consider South Africa, struggling with shortages of food and electricity, and now mutating strains of COVID-19. In December this nation was compelled by BlackRock and others to cancel six coal-fired plants. The lights will turn off and people will die. Here in Houston, we all remember the financial wizards at Enron. While the bubble was expanding, they were the smartest guys in the room. As it started to deflate, Enron looted California almost to death. The Davos boys are a thousand times worse…. The Green Finance will kill the physical economy to save the grotesque bubble of speculation. We propose another way forward. Houston, the U.S.A. and the world must reject Green Finance, pull out of the unscientific climate accords, and put the bubbleheads through bankruptcy. We must start a new future based on true science and industrial progress. This paper will chart the way forward to accomplish that end. We urge you to study the paper and act upon it. Thank you.
At the present time, with such dramatic, historical events underway, as the second year of a pandemic, with a mutating virus; and in North America, with mass scale damage from power systems known in advance to be deficient, reason tells us that we should be collaborating like hell, at home and abroad, to put things right. Look at what we can do on Mars! The measures needed have been spelled out for decades, in development policies by economist-statesman Lyndon H. LaRouche, Jr., who, with his wife Helga Zepp-LaRouche, also showed the way for the diplomatic initiatives that can make development a reality. Now is the time. The opposition to this outlook, from the failed political-financial networks centered in the City of London/Wall Street crowd, is pushing furiously for more and rapid deindustrialization which have caused the multiple crises in the first place. Publicity is now revved up for the April 22 international summit to fight climate change, to be hosted by the White House, for Earth Day. Both President Joe Biden and John Kerry, National Security Council Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, reiterated this on Feb. 18, the day that the U.S. officially rejoined the Paris Climate Accords. They emphasize that between now and the April 22 summit, Biden will issue the measures required to achieve major U.S. reduction of CO₂ by the end of this decade. Such policies will actually mean nine years of accelerating black-outs, food shortages, floods, fires, and rapid drop of life expectancy. Kerry stressed the urgency of action on CO₂ reduction on Friday, speaking with UN Director General Antonio Guterres, “It’s what people will do in the next 10 years that matter.” Joining in, of course, are the billionaire genocidalists. Sir Michael anti-coal Bloomberg was on a reporters’ conference call Feb. 18 to stress that more coal plants must be taken down—just at the very time when it has been coal and nuclear electricity generation that kept the central states from complete black-out. Bill Gates, the man whose specialty is “philanthropy” to perpetuate deficiencies in health, education and agriculture, has been likewise stressing this 10-year timeframe. He said in a feature interview in today’s Washington Post Magazine that, “we must have breakthroughs in this next decade,” so we can use the following two decades to 2050, “to replace the entire industrial economy.” As for the science question involved in the apparent contradiction between frigid storms and global warming, Gates asserted the standard fraud this morning on Fox News, that “putting more carbon” into the atmosphere is bound to affect the weather. There is “super hard evidence” of this. The new report out this month takes these evil jokers apart—EIR’s Special Report: “The Great Leap Backward: LaRouche Exposes the Green New Deal.” Helga Zepp-LaRouche writes in her Introduction, “The New Deal for Humanity Is Not Green, But Human!” a concluding section, sub-titled, “Choose Durable Human Survival Instead.” She calls for action, stating, "Even if many institutions seem to have decided on the course outlined here [green economic disaster, geopolitics and war danger], it is not too late to take the alternative. The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated how extremely vulnerable we really are as a human species, and that realistically we only have one chance to ensure our long-term survival—by coming together in a new paradigm of cooperation among all nations of this world to dedicate ourselves to the real common tasks of humanity. “The key to overcoming the crisis lies in an image of man that does not see mankind as a parasite on nature, whose activities pollute and destroy poor Mother Earth, so that it would be good to reduce the number of people as much as possible (just not so far as to leave the oligarchy without enough service personnel!). Man is simply not a manipulable, sensory being that can be kept under control by the modern form of bread and circuses and degradation by the entertainment industry. “Mankind is the only species whose creative reason conforms to the laws of the universe, and is even a developed integral part thereof. It is precisely this ability that allows humanity time and again to discover new revolutionary hypotheses about the physical laws of the universe, which are then used in the production process to define completely new platforms of the human standard of living, life expectancy, understanding of the climate change that has been taking place for millions of years, and further perspective for creating the prerequisites for future interstellar space flight through the colonization of nearer space.” For human survival, make good use of the new report, and enjoy the beautiful images now beaming to Earth from Mars, thanks to “Percy.”
On and since the Feb. 18 date the U.S. officially rejoined the Paris Climate Agreement, President Joe Biden and John Kerry, his National Security Council Presidential Envoy for Climate Action, have been thumping for their planned international summit to fight climate change, scheduled for April 22, Earth Day. They pledge that between now and April 22, the U.S. will have spelled out its plans for achieving marker goals of CO₂ reduction by 2030, harping that “this decade” is the make or break. Kerry said on Feb. 19, in one of several media spots, “It’s what people will do in the next 10 years that matter. That’s what we have to talk about.” On one media event, he spoke alongside UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, who added his own sour notes to the chorus, that efforts to stop carbon emissions, “must go much faster and much farther.”A media echo chamber effect is coming from many other voices chiming in. Sir Michael Anti-Coal Bloomberg held an evening call with reporters on Feb. 18 to extol his efforts with state and local governments to see that coal plants close as rapidly as possible. Never mind that it was coal and nuclear that saved the day—such as the day is going—in the central states cold wave. Bill Gates, billionaire depopulation backer, is getting extra heavy media play during the U.S. energy and breakdown crisis, to declare the Wall Street/imperial London decree that all must obey their green dictates. He said this morning that the severe storm patterns simply prove that “putting more carbon in the atmosphere” affects weather. There is “super hard evidence” on this. Only the “tactics” of our response differ, he said on Fox Morning News TV. Gates too is stressing the next 10 years. He says in a Washington Post Magazine cover story interview out today, that “The best we can do is have the breakthroughs in this next decade, so we still have 20 years to replace the entire industrial economy and all those hard things” that allegedly cause CO₂ emissions. He is pumping his new book, How To Avoid a Climate Disaster, in which he details his usual message of anti-technology and deindustrialization. The 2030 timeframe stressed for the April 22 White House climate action summit likewise applies to many other tracks of institutional insanity, from the European Union’s “Farm to Fork and Biodiversities Strategy” to “NATO 2030.”
Welcome to our new weekly program featuring the work of Lyndon LaRouche. Every week on Sunday at 11am EST, we will feature an introduction by a member of the LaRouche Organization to a major work of Lyndon LaRouche to provide you the opportunity to meet, or reacquaint yourself, with the mind and the personality of one of the greatest geniuses of the last 100 years. This week's video features Lyndon LaRouche's 1988 television broadcast, "A Woman on Mars" and a presentation given to a Schiller Institute conference in July 2011 on the matter of "Creativity as Such."
Mars has a new guest. NASA’s Perseverance rover has landed successfully on the Red Planet, where it joins two other new visitors to that body: the U.A.E.’s Hope orbiter and China’s Tianwen-1. These three countries represent very different traditions: a relatively new nation with the world’s oldest constitution, an extremely new and relatively small nation founded the same year as the first spacecraft to land on Mars was launched, and the most populous country on the planet with one of the world’s oldest continuous cultures. This confluence of celestial messengers draws the world’s eyes to the stars, and provides us a more enlightened viewpoint for considering our earthly affairs.Considered as a whole, the Earth has many shortcomings: deserts here and floods there, high mountains, rough terrain, deadly diseases, poisonous organisms, not to mention the hideous culture of oligarchism that has gripped nearly all of humanity for millennia. While the most natural course is to work together to terraform this Earth—as practice for improving other heavenly bodies—an enormous level of political and financial power is concentrated among a grouping that seeks to reduce human population and productivity, and plays an active role in creating cultural currents to prevent opposition to these aims. This present-day empire—with its centers of power and control in the City of London, the British Royal Family, Wall Street, Silicon Valley, the Five Eyes intelligence services, and the legacy media—wants you to see yourself and your neighbors not in terms of your common humanity but in terms of the shades of your skin, promotes a form of discussion whereby ideas are not considered on their merits but are instead rated based on who presents them, and spreads tall tales about those most able to challenge their power: Russia, China, Lyndon LaRouche, and, over the recent period, Donald Trump. China’s meteoric growth has brought the better part of a billion people out of poverty. Russia’s strength and independence have checked the military designs of the Anglo-American establishment. For more than half a century, Lyndon LaRouche developed, promoted, and at times succeeded in effecting the policies capable of eliminating poverty worldwide and ushering in a renaissance of infrastructural, scientific, cultural, and economic growth, as well as the method by which those policies were crafted. In Africa, an enormous potential is sprinting into being, made possible by a new paradigm of economics that can unleash the growth that has been held back by decades of neo-colonial economics imposed by the IMF and World Bank. As Schiller Institute leader Sébastien Périmony explains, “The industrialization of Africa has already begun. A new paradigm is emerging, the paradigm so dreamed of by the great Pan-Africanist leaders. It is that of a multipolar world based on co-development, of a world based on ‘physical’ economy rather than monetarism … or Malthusianism.” Unleashing the enormous potential of this fast-growing continent will mean achieving standard-gauge, continent-wide high-speed rail not by the deadlines of the African Union’s Agenda 2063, but within a dozen years. It means greatly improved agriculture benefitting from capital inputs and mechanization. It means rural electrification, an expansion of nuclear and other power (including the massive hydropower of the Congo River and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on the Nile), continent-scale inter-basin water management systems, bridges, roads, manufacturing, education, science, and technology. And it means moving forward in all of these ways, right now. The collision between physical reality and the ideological narratives designed to prevent any challenge to the anti-growth trans-Atlantic system is manifesting itself in the energy disasters in Texas and beyond and in the remaining great challenges in establishing the pandemic-prompted excellent health infrastructure needed worldwide. Achieving a victory for human growth will mean redirecting anger from such misplaced or ill-conceived enemy images as Russia, China, immigrants, or whiteness, to defeating the modern British financial empire. Free from the Green religion of guilt for existing at all, and the financial fantasies that demand to dictate policy, the World Land-Bridge concept of Lyndon and Helga LaRouche can become a reality. Let us make a garden of the Earth, and, soon, other planets too!
As a powerful polar vortex brought freezing weather to much of the United States, the Texas electricity grid was "within seconds or minutes" away from a "catastrophic failure and complete blackout," on February 16, had they not decided to implement controlled outages, according to an official from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), the company which manages the grid. The rolling blackouts which occurred as a result of that decision meant that more than four million customers in Texas were without electricity and heat for hours at a time, and half the counties in the state reported water problems due to power loss at water treatment facilities. As of February 19, there were reports of more than thirty-six deaths related to the storm and the loss of power, and 600,000 were still without power. Nearly a quarter of the state's population remains under orders to boil water before using it, if they have access to water at all. How did this happen in Texas, which is the largest producer and consumer of energy in the U.S., and in Houston, which is home to 5,000 energy-related firms and calls itself the Energy Capital of the World? There are two factors which led to the breakdown of Texas' energy sector, neither of which are acknowledged by the media and the so-called experts: the unreliability of "renewable" sources of energy, such as wind and solar; and the long-term effects of the neoliberal policy of deregulation, which puts speculative profits ahead of the necessary, continuous investment in infrastructure required to sustain a modern electricity grid. The closest the apologists for the present collapsing system come to recognizing the dangers caused by this deadly combination is to describe ERCOT as "unprepared" for the crisis, by which they mean that the real problem is the grid managers did not anticipate a storm of this magnitude hitting Texas. While this is true, they refuse to discuss WHY they were unprepared! On the breakdown of so-called renewable sources, there is total denial, as the financial oligarchy, represented by the Davos billionaires of the World Economic Forum, is plunging ahead with a global "Green New Deal" (GND). Texas now gets 23% of its electricity from wind. As the cold wave hit, the total electricity produced by wind turbines fell from more than 8,000 megawatts on Sunday, to 649 megawatts by Monday. Both Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and Rick Perry, the former Governor and U.S. Energy Secretary under President Trump, identified the failure of "renewable" sources as a major cause of the breakdown of the electricity grid, citing frozen wind turbines and snow-covered solar panels as a major contributing factor. In response, there has been a predictable hysterical outcry from pro-Green networks, insisting that this played only a "minor role" in the crisis. Typical of this reaction is an article in the February 18 New Yorker magazine by Greenie huckster Bill McKibben, "Blaming The Wind for the Mess in Texas Is Painfully Absurd." Despite wide circulation of photos of idle windmills, with icicles hanging from the blades, McKibben writes that "The idea that wind turbines cannot deal with cold weather is, prima facie, ridiculous." As for the effects of deregulation, which is also a central feature of the "Great Reset" of the Davos gang, there has been a wall of silence, including among "conservatives" who are "free market" advocates, many of whom correctly identify the devastating effects of Green policies, but are wedded to the neoliberal economic policies which have led to disinvestment in all platforms of infrastructure. The Fraud of the Green New Deal The Executive Intelligence Review released on February 12 what has proven to be a prescient report on the potentially devastating effects of a global shift to the "zero carbon" world demanded by those who swear by the Fake Science behind the demand for a transition to lower energy-flux-density production, allegedly to reduce carbon emissions. Titled "The Great Leap Backward: LaRouche Exposes the Green New Deal", the report draws on the five decades of scientific and economic research conducted by Lyndon LaRouche and his associates on the genocidal intent of those financial and corporate cartel officials — represented today by the Davos billionaires — who revived the quackery of the British Empire's Parson Malthus, to reverse the scientific and technological optimism unleashed by the U.S. space program of President Kennedy. The report includes details on the direct role of the British monarchy, under Prince Charles, in coordinating financial hit teams to cut off investment in physical goods production, in favor of creating a Green financial bubble, to bail out a bankrupt financial system. It exposes the relationship between the "Great Reset", a plan to place governments under the top-down control of central banks, which operate on behalf of the largest private banks and shadow banking institutions, and the GND. At the recent Davos online conference, a representative of BlackRock, the world's largest fund manager, and the initiator of a project for a global "financial regime change", spoke of a pool of $30 to $50 trillion, of central bank and private funds, which would flow into the Green financial bubble, while deliberately shutting down credit generation for productive enterprises, which are identified as deadly carbon polluters. A report produced by Chatham House, a "policy institute" connected to British intelligence, specified which industries should be red-lined by investors, so as to deny them credit in order to reduce the economy's "carbon footprint." These include investment in coal, oil and gas, and nuclear energy; cement, steel, aluminum and chemical manufacturing; and ships, planes and trucks. The report also advocates an end to eating meat, to be replaced by eating only plants.
Join us LIVE on Thursday at 9pm EST. With over 800 million people in the world lacking their ‘daily bread,’ who would be so evil as to ruin family farming and cut food output? The Green New Deal is doing just that. Their save-the-environment/biodiversity fraud comes first, eating comes last. The Net Zero Emissions movement is a famine policy. Farmers are protesting in India, in Germany, and activated in the U.S. Marcia Merry Baker, contributor to the new EIR Special Report: The Great Leap Backward: LaRouche Exposes the Green New Deal, will discuss the world food emergency. Diane Sare, LaRouche Independent candidate for U.S. Senator from New York, will discuss how the Wall Street/London system behind it is bankrupt, and over-ready for replacement.
