While it is legitimate to question whether, in the heated environment of current U.S.-Russian relations, a summit between Putin and Biden can reach a positive conclusion, such a question is based on submitting to the axioms imposed by the imperial authors of the doctrine of geopolitics. It is very easy to lose sight of any path forward in the existential crisis facing mankind today, especially when viewed from within the trans-Atlantic region: the financial bubble in the banking system—literally quadrillions of dollars of speculative paper, already threatening a hyperinflation which could wipe out everyone’s savings; a government issuing daily war cries against the nuclear-armed Russia and China; the insane Green New Deal already shutting down the real economy based on a scientific fraud; a pandemic which is expanding globally; and a social crisis fueled by drugs, violence, and perversity.But that is not the global reality. In fact, another paradigm is in place, and rapidly expanding around the world, and is showing signs of emerging within the US and Europe, in spite of the extreme danger—or perhaps because of the extreme danger. China’s Belt and Road is hated and demonized by the Anglo-American financial oligarchy precisely because it offers the world an alternative to the Malthusian genocide of war, pandemics, and “green finance”—and nations in Asia, Africa, and Ibero-America are seizing that alternative. When the US State Department warns them that accepting vaccines from China and Russia is a malign attempt to destroy democracy, they simply wonder what has driven the State Department mad. The eleven days of mass murder in Gaza this month has created a backlash in the US and Europe. Mass demonstrations against the slaughter have been joined by many non-Palestinians and non-Muslims, including many Jews, who are sickened by the constant harping about human rights violations around the world while offering uncritical support for the apartheid state created by the right-wing leaders in Israel. It is important to recall that the Netanyahu leadership dates back to the pro-Hitler Vladimir Jabotinsky’s “Revisionist Zionism” in the UK (Bibi Netanyahu’s father was Jabotinsky’s personal secretary, while David Ben Gurian labeled Jabotinsky “Vladimir Hitler”). It is equally important to recall that the British imperial lords who created the state of Israel, without providing for a Palestinian state, also created Hamas in the 1980s, when it was useful to have a religious-based radical Palestinian organization to oppose the secular Palestine Liberation Organization of Yasser Arafat. And, of course, when Arafat and Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin launched a peace process together, the Jabotinskyites had Rabin assassinated. Lyndon LaRouche, throughout his life, identified the manufactured “unresolvable conflict” between Jews and Arabs in Palestine as central to the British imperial division of the entire world into conflicting blocs. But, he insisted, there is a solution—Peace Through Development. He devised an “Oasis Plan” for the development of the region after meetings with Arabs and Israelis in 1975. Several iterations of the plan over the years led to the publication of the Schiller Institute report Extending the New Silk Road to West Asia and Africa in 2017. In fact, this is a paradigm for the solution to the global crisis now threatening mankind. The Committee on the Coincidence of Opposites co-founded by Helga Zepp-LaRouche in June, 2020, is predicated on this principle, developed by the 15th-Century genius Nicholas of Cusa: when differences based on ideological, ethnic, religious, national, territorial or any other basis, provoke a crisis, the discussion can, and must, be lifted to a higher level of thought, based on the common creative powers unique to all human beings, and the common aims of mankind derived from their unique capacity to participate in God’s continuing creation of the universe. Impossible? Cusa created a Renaissance in Europe based on that principle, overcoming the Dark Ages of war and plague. Zhu Xi created a Renaissance in China in the 12th Century based on precisely the same principle, as did the creators of the Islamic Renaissance in the Baghdad Caliphate beginning in the 8th Century. Are we not human beings, capable of creating a future worthy of the dignity of man? It has been announced that Presidents Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin will meet in Geneva on June 16. The Kremlin states that the meeting will address the “further development” of US-Russia relations, as well as cooperation in fighting the pandemic and resolving “regional conflicts.” The White House states that the meeting aims to “restore predictability and stability” to the relationship. A White House statement following the meeting of National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and his Russian counterpart, Nikolai Patrushev, on Monday said the sides “expressed confidence that mutually acceptable solutions could be found in a number of areas,” and “agreed that a normalization of U.S.-Russian relations would be in the interest of both countries and contribute to global predictability and stability.” The Kremlin statement was quite the same. Will this lead to a new paradigm of peace and cooperation, rather than war? Will the same process take place between the US and China? We can only be certain that the British Empire and its war-mongering assets within the U.S., in both parties, and in the intelligence community and the media, will take drastic actions to prevent such a result. But the momentum in a positive direction is there, and has been significantly affected by the LaRouche movement over the past decades, and especially by the international Schiller Institute conferences held in March and May. It is not a time for speculation or predictions of success or failure. It is time for all of us to build a Renaissance.
While the White House is quibbling with members of both parties in Congress over the size of the proposed infrastructure bill, what is clear is that the debate has nothing to do with building modern platforms of infrastructure. Instead, it represents a defense of the bankrupt ideologies governing both parties: while the Republicans want to limit spending, many Democrats -- including Biden -- are committed to an insane "Green" agenda, which includes destroying the existing energy grid in pursuit of the lunacy of a "zero-carbon footprint." But the proposal to tear down hydroelectric dams to prevent "human interference with the rights of free-flowing rivers" is a sign of the intellectual degeneracy and dishonesty of the debate, as is the neo-liberal insistence that "cheaper is better" and preference for "pay as you go" schemes when it comes to upgrading the national platform of infrastructure.
During the year 1983, in which Republican President Ronald Reagan advanced the seismic change in post-war military strategy known as the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), stunning the entire trans-Atlantic world by embracing the inspired proposal of 1984 Democratic Presidential candidate Lyndon LaRouche, LaRouche authored a number of documents subsequent to that March 23 achievement. They included his “The Implications of Beam-Weapons Technology for the Military Doctrine of Argentina,” May 1983; “Saudi Arabia in the Year 2023,” June; “A Fifty-Year Development Policy for the Indian-Pacific Oceans Basin,” August; and two December documents, “The Design for a Leibnizian Academy of Morocco,” and “A Proposal To Begin Development of a Long-Range Economic Development Policy for the State of Israel.” LaRouche, besides his participation in many seminars and conferences that year, also took time to describe for all, in “The Science of the Human Mind,” written in October of 1983, what he meant, when LaRouche entitled the much-earlier “Open Dialogue with Leonid Brezhnev: The Content of Policy Is the Method by Which It Is Made.” The rediscovery of the Promethean “principle of power,” the power of labor, technology, and productive work, today under assault by the British Empire’s Great Reset, is the core of the LaRouche economic method, and all policy initiatives that flow from it.Though there are forces that clearly intend to prevent even President Joe Biden from meeting with President Vladimir Putin, using everything, including the bogus Belarus affair to do so, Russia intends to do its part to not play the provocation game. Meanwhile, the physical reality of the coronavirus pandemic and its implications, whether in Palestine, India, or Honduras, are not a game: that deadly reality, even for countries like the once-protected Vietnam, has forced the truth to the fore: “Therefore, send not to know for whom the bell tolls: it tolls for thee.” The bankruptcy of the United States’ policy on making vaccines available to the world in a timely fashion was luridly on display in the press conference addressed by the CDC’s Dr. Rochelle Walensky and Biden’s Covid coordinator who, after blathering about “80 million vaccines distributed to the world by the end of June,” was caught covering up for the fact that over 100 million vaccines are already produced and not about to be used, not counting the 67 million that the states already have, and are having problems finding people to take. The issue, however, is not whether to vaccinate either American children, or Indian physicians. The issue is: What are the hypotheses that must be the foundation for a world physical-economic development policy? Only the philosophical method of mass organizing developed by Cardinal Nicholas of Cusa, in his “De Docta Ignorantia,” is adequate to the challenge faced by mankind today. One sub-chapter of LaRouche’s May ’83 “Argentina” document is entitled: “‘Mad’ as a Malthusian Dogma.” Truly, the trans-Atlantic thermonuclear war-fighting policies presently being considered, such as “Prompt Global Strike,” reflect a cult-like form of religious belief, not rigorous strategic thinking in the 21st century. Besides being a rejection of the 1983 breakthrough by Reagan and LaRouche, preventive war and thermonuclear first strike is, together with the “Great Reset,” a pathetic front for the inevitable demise of the $2 quadrillions-plus bankrupt financial system. Neither scheme can work, except to exterminate all, or most of the human race. (Malthusianism also often has the ugly habit of destroying its proponents first.) But, though this “new world order” will fail under any circumstances, what will succeed? From a physical-economic standpoint, the opportunity afforded by the merciless, “Masque of the Red Death”-like prompting of humanity to change its ways, by the coronavirus pandemic and its implications, has, for perhaps the first time since the successful LaRouche campaign for the SDI in 1983, brought mankind and its governments, face to face with self-development, or self-destruction. A world health platform, demanded by elected officials, medical personnel, clergy, military, and all persons interested in justice, whether for Palestine, the African continent, or the urban poor in nations all over the world, can overturn every axiom of geopolitics, can take exception to every “rule of law,” can reset “the Great Reset,” solely by forcing an insistence on the idea that the world needs more people, at higher standards of living, achieved even without and independent of the prior resolution of outmoded forms of conflict and division that have characterized the relationships among states up to now. The deeper enemy we are facing, as pernicious as with the Dionysians of the Great Reset, is Kantian pessimism, seen, for example, in the cynical reflections of University of Washington Prof. Karen Levy: “With COVID-19, thinking like a pathogen leads to an inevitable conclusion: Getting the vaccine out to everyone in the world as quickly as possible is not just an ethical imperative, but also a selfish one.” This will, and should, inspire no one. The antidote to this can be found in the optimism of genius. Karel Vereycken recounted in the 2013 article “The Secret of the Florentine Dome” that Antonio Tuccio Manetti (1423-1497), author of “The Life of Filippo Brunelleschi,” who had met Brunelleschi when alive, reported regarding the contest to build the Duomo at Florence: “Even more so since the construction masters were already worrying about the difficulty to have to build a vault that wide and so high: seeing its height and width, its weight, its buttressing and supports, arches, and other armatures, which all had to be raised from the ground, it looked in such a fashion that not only the effort seemed awful, but its realization properly impossible.” To those who invoked that impossibility, Brunelleschi sharply answered that the dome was a sacred building and that “God, for whom nothing is impossible, will not abandon us.” To start the project, he suggested to the wardens of the Opera del Duomo to organize an international conference and invite all the architects, engineers, and masons “as many one could find across Christendom.” So they did, and during that meeting, “From the words of Filippo, the wardens deduced the verdict that such a building so big and of such a nature could not be terminated and that it had been a naïveté, from those architects of the past and of those who conceived the whole project, to believe so. When Filippo said, contesting that wrong opinion, that it could be done, they all answered in chorus: ‘How will the centering [falsework] be done?’ but he insisted again that it could be built without such centering.” Lyndon LaRouche, in “The Issue of Mind-Set” remarked that “The case of Filippo Brunelleschi’s construction of the dome of the famous Cathedral of Florence, typifies the axiomatic sources of the achievements of the Renaissance as a whole. If one examines the nature of the problem which Brunelleschi solved, viewing this as would a physicist in the tradition of Leonardo, Kepler, Leibniz, Gauss, and Riemann, one is startled, at first, by the fact that, as early as the middle decades of the Fifteenth Century, the catenary was used, not merely as a form, but as a physical principle of curvature, to solve the otherwise insoluble problem of construction posed. Brunelleschi used a ‘hanging chain’ form, to guide the workmen in the construction. Other ruses of a principled nature, used by the same Brunelleschi, including camera oscura constructions, afford the modern investigator the means to peek inside the cognitive processes which the great architect mustered in the course of the most notable innovations used in his work.” Such a construction of a durable world order is the task of the moment. Recalling the Mind-set of LaRouche’s 1983 year of creativity, and its impact on the world, provides the standard, both of the American Presidency and of the dialogue among nations, to which we must aspire.

The global financial elite have only a shrinking time-frame in which to force all nations, and all of us, to stop resisting and accept their “Great Reset,” or “Green New Deal.” They are running out of time before a perhaps $100 trillion “everything bubble” of largely unpayable debts and derivatives exposures based on them, collapses or goes into a hyperinflationary explosion. It is that bubble they are trying to “roll over” by looting tens of trillions of dollars out of real industrial and agricultural production, household wealth and survival, and jamming it into a “green finance” bubble based on dolled-up throwback energy technologies.Just listen to a Washington Post editorial today, commenting on the truly insane haste to eliminate all new fossil fuel investments this year and “green everything” to zero-carbon, which is demanded in the big May 5 report of the International Energy Agency (IEA)—essentially the energy branch of the Davos World Economic Forum. “Others Say: Net-Zero Is Plausible. But It Won’t Be Easy” is the headline. Installing the world’s biggest solar farm every day through 2030. Building 200 massive “gigafactories” during the decade to turn out electric vehicles. Controlling everything people do and forcing them to change immediately how they build buildings, heat homes, produce goods, commute, etc. “Singular, unwavering focus from all governments,” doing little else. “Today, the data shows a looming mismatch between the world’s strengthened climate ambitions and the availability of critical minerals that are essential to realizing those climate ambitions,” it quotes the IEA’s executive director Fatih Birol. This is the desperation of imagining a new financial bubble immense enough to swallow up in oblivion and/or inflate away the tens of trillions of unpayable debt. It must involve unprecedented looting of human conditions and lives. So, they say, it demands “singular, unwavering focus from all governments.” Last week, G7 foreign and economic ministers said they agreed to this. The last time such private financial conglomerates bent government policy to their will and dramatically shifted all GDP and economic activity to their goals, it was the financial powers of fascism between the world wars, acting especially through their central banks. Representing these powers, Germany’s central banker Hjalmar Schacht forced a 20% GDP shift to armaments production in just two years, by printing money and taking over government spending. As that shift continued, inflation came with it until it led to world war. Here the IEA, the “Great Reset” financiers, are talking about a great technological leap backwards in all economic activity, forced again by central bank-led and -directed money-printing which has bypassed any and all historical scale in the past 18 months. This vast “green new deal” shift will cause loss of millions of lives in the developing countries until it leads to war against major powers—China and Russia—which resist the Malthusian policy. And imminently now, it faces a hyperinflationary collapse. The former European Central Bank chief economist Jürgen Stark said yesterday, treading very carefully, “I do not want to provoke a crash, but it cannot be ruled out.” The respected veteran American economist John Williams, an expert on the real statistics behind government stats, said in an interview, “I think we are eventually headed into a hyperinflationary economic collapse. It’s not that we haven’t been in an economic collapse already…. The Fed has been creating money at a pace that has never been seen before. You are basically up 75% (in money creation) year over year. This is unprecedented. Normally, it might be up 1% or 2% year over year. The exploding money supply will lead to inflation. I am not saying we are going to get to 75% inflation—yet. But you are getting up to the 4% or 5% range, and you are soon going to be seeing 10% range year over year…. The Fed has lost control of inflation.” So we must become members and leaders of that global anti-Malthusian resistance: With Russia and China as allies in this resistance; nationalize those central banks; break up the Wall Street and London banks; and stop the Green New Deal before it brings on hyperinflationary collapse.
As we warned on the day of his inauguration, Joe Biden's administration is pursuing policies which will lead to hyperinflation and war. The Davos globalist's Great Reset, which has been adopted by Biden, features the move to a central banker dictatorship, propped up by an unprecedented volume of money creation -- which will be directed into a green financial bubble, while credit is denied to the physical economy. And as Secretary of State Blinken heads to the Middle East, he has pre-announced measures that will do nothing but guarantee a new explosion of violence in the short-term, combined with renewed efforts at regime change in Syria, but also Russia and China. The British Empire’s classic imperial policy of “divide and conquer” was at the core of the “Mutually Assured Destruction” (MAD) policy which the British established after the development of nuclear weapons by the U.S. First, the British demanded that the U.S. hurry up and use the atomic bomb, before the war ended—not because it was needed to defeat the Japanese, who were already defeated by General MacArthur’s strategy of cutting off their access to raw materials, but to show the world that the Anglo-American leaders were insane enough to mass murder innocent civilians. This was only possible due to the early death of Franklin Roosevelt and the coming to power of the British/Wall Street puppet Harry Truman.Once that act of terror was complete, spokesmen for the Empire like Lord Bertrand Russell advised an immediate nuclear attack on the Soviet Union and the establishment of a One World Government—a revised version of the British Empire. The Soviets quickly developed their own nuclear weapons, however, so the MAD doctrine was devised, whose primary purpose was not to prevent a nuclear war, but to keep the world divided, to stop any chance of a return to Roosevelt’s policy of uniting the U.S., the U.S.S.R., and China in the noble task of developing the former colonies into modern industrial nations using American System methods. But do not assume that the MAD doctrine means there is no chance that anyone would be crazy enough to use nuclear weapons in the world today. As EIR has reported, Adm. Charles Richard, the head of Strategic Command, the agency which would deploy such nuclear weapons, has openly declared that nuclear war is “likely,” and that we must prepare for it. “Consequently, the U.S. military,” he said in the February issue of U.S. Naval Institute’s Proceedings, “must shift its principal assumption from ‘nuclear employment is not possible’ to ‘nuclear employment is a very real possibility,’ and act to meet and deter that reality.” It was this statement which provoked Daniel Ellsberg, famous as the U.S. intelligence official who released the Pentagon Papers in 1971, exposing the U.S. crimes in Vietnam, to again release classified documents, this time exposing the plan by leading U.S. military officers and the U.S. Secretary of State John Foster Dulles to use nuclear weapons against China in 1958, in defense of Taiwan. China had no nuclear weapons at the time, but the proponents acknowledged that the U.S.S.R. would potentially respond, and global nuclear war could result. Only President Eisenhower prevented such a holocaust, as a military leader who understood the horror of war, let alone nuclear war. The publication of Ellsberg’s exposure by the New York Times on May 22, a week after Ellsberg’s release, prevented a general blackout of this explosive story, and it is now being reported widely. (Why the Times did so is not known, but perhaps it was in memory of the fact that they were the first to publish the Pentagon Papers in Juned 1971, fifty years earlier.) It is worth taking note that this was not the only time the U.S. and their British friends advocated a nuclear war. In 1954, as the French colonial regime in Vietnam was about to be routed by the forces of Ho Chi Minh, Dulles proposed using U.S. nuclear weapons to bail out our “allies” (whom Roosevelt would have prevented from retaking their colony in the first place, or any of the European powers from returning to their colonies). When the U.S. took over the colonial wars for the British and the French, getting embroiled in the Indochina disaster, President Nixon proposed using nuclear weapons against Vietnam. The current discussion of this potential horror is so openly being discussed that even National Public Radio today played a tape recording of Nixon and Henry Kissinger discussing using nuclear weapons to demolish North Vietnam. A memo from Kissinger (a leading proponent of the British MAD doctrine) to Nixon read: “Should we be prepared to use nuclear weapons?… Since we cannot confidently predict the exact point at which Hanoi could be likely to respond positively, we must be prepared to play out whatever string necessary…. To achieve its full effect on Hanoi’s thinking, the action must be brutal.” [Emphasis in original.] There is no separating the danger of nuclear war from the multi-pronged crisis facing the trans-Atlantic nations—a financial bubble unprecedented in history, beginning to hemorrhage; a self-imposed policy of economic destruction under the insane Green New Deal; a backlash in the developing nations, in Africa, in Central and South America, and in Asia, whereby a growing number of nations are declaring openly that they prefer development aid and cooperation coming from China in meeting the pandemic to the imperial demands from Washington. The Biden State Department is openly threatening developing nations that they must reject support from China or face a cutoff of markets and support from the U.S., and possible sanctions for being “undemocratic.” A much greater backlash is required from within the U.S. and Europe. The Schiller Institute is mobilizing this positive potential within the U.S. population, and globally, and in particular among the youth, who, as in other periods of intense crisis, are beginning to look for real intellectual and moral leadership. Two Schiller Institute conferences this year, in March and in May, demonstrated the possibility of uniting leaders and patriots of nations around the world to address and resolve, together, the deadly challenges facing humanity as a whole—war, pandemic, famine, economic disintegration, cultural decay. Another such conference is being planned for the weeks ahead. It is only possible to overcome conflicts between nations and peoples by lifting the narrative to the level of the common aims of mankind—which is the meaning behind Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s founding of the Committee for the Coincidence of Opposites. The geopoliticians do not believe there is such a thing as a common aim for mankind, but that mankind is defined by the Darwinian, Hobbesian view of man, as a beast fighting for superiority and survival at the expense of others. Prove them wrong.
When you hear that leaders of the U.S. and the U.K. would be willing to risk a nuclear war, even knowing that their own countries would be decimated and civilization could be destroyed, do you doubt that it were possible, that one would have to be insane to think in that way? When told that the Green New Deal plans to eliminate all fossil fuels and nuclear power, and rely only on “renewables” like solar and wind, which would be capable of sustaining only a small fraction of the current human population, is your response that those promoting it could not possibly intend such a genocidal result?If the answer to either question is yes, then you have rejected the evidence in plain sight that those leaders are open, proud supporters of the ideas of Pastor Thomas Malthus, that population growth must be stopped or the human race will destroy itself. The argument has taken many forms over the centuries—Pastor Malthus himself argued that human population growth is exponential, while food production is geometric, leading inevitably to famine, depression and depopulation. In the heyday of the British Empire’s colonial expansion, eugenics—race science—was preached by the good pastors of the day, showing “scientifically” that the white race was superior to the “lesser races,” justifying both the forced backwardness and ill treatment of their colonial subjects, with an occasional famine or unrestrained pandemic to “cull the herd.” Eugenics became unmentionable when the Nazis used it to eliminate the Jews and others in gas ovens, but after the war, Lord Bertrand Russell (whom Lyndon LaRouche described as the most evil man of his time), said, regarding the need to deal with the “overpopulation problem”: “War … has hitherto been disappointing in this respect … but perhaps bacteriological war may prove more effective. If a Black Death could spread throughout the world once in every generation, survivors could procreate freely without making the world too full. … The state of affairs might be somewhat unpleasant, but what of it?” The term "eugenics" was simply replaced with "conservation" and "environmentalism." Problem solved. Now, Pastor Malthus has pretended to be a climate scientist, terrifying the children and the child-like with computer printouts which claim that carbon—the food of plants, the food of life—is actually a pollutant which is heating the planet to a boiling point, which will kill us all if we don’t shut down industries, stop eating meat, and, at all costs, prevent the developing countries from developing into modern industrial nations. To be certain of that, Mark Carney, former Governor of the Bank of England and now the UN Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance, told a climate conference with African leaders that they must promise absolutely that they will not develop their resources nor cut down their trees, nor build any “carbon polluting” industries or infrastructure, in order to get “carbon offsets” from the industrial country industries. Those industries will continue emitting carbon, while keeping the developing countries backward, and their raw materials cheap, by paying a small “carbon tax.” And Carney even told the Africans that “green police” will have to occupy their countries to enforce the non-development and to earn their carbon offsets. Green Colonialism. And why do the U.S. and U.K. governments hate Russia and China so much, deploying nuclear armed missiles, planes and submarines to all of their borders, in Europe, in Asia and now even in the Arctic? Is it because of their “aggression,” when, unlike the U.S. and NATO, they keep their military forces within their own borders and their immediate neighborhood? Is it because of human rights, as in Xinjiang, which is prospering, while U.S. wars and sanctions on Syria, Yemen, and dozens of other countries are causing famine and misery? On Wednesday, the Republican members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence released their report “COVID-19 and the Wuhan Institute of Virology” as part of their exposing “the growing threat to America posed by the Communist Chinese government and the People’s Liberation Army.” It is largely a rehash of previously failed slanders.The interim report by the team delegated by the World Health Organization, with which China agreed to work, reported back that the SARS-CoV2 virus likely originated from bats or civets—but, if it did, the virus would have had to evolve through at least one or two other species. An extensive effort of tracking, testing, and tracing has failed so far to establish the trail, but the team recommended more such efforts in China and other parts of southeast Asia. The idea of an accidental escape of an engineered virus from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) was found to be very remote, though not impossible. One of the problems is that every employee of the WIV was regularly given sera tests, with never a trace of the viral infection. Now, the WIV, as a world-class, high-level lab (a new one, set up with the help of the United States) has been under routine and constant electronic surveillance by US intelligence since years before Covid. (What is called “Gain of Function” manipulations of viruses is also the work where biological warfare research would go on, as with the various US labs.) Mobile phone signals, overhead satellite imagery, and communication intercepts have been pored over, for a hint of a lab shutdown due to accidental infections inside, to no avail. Now, for some examples of the rehash. First: “On January 15, 2021, the Department of State publicly revealed that several WIV researchers became sick in the fall of 2019 with COVID-like symptoms prior to the first confirmed case.” For this, it footnotes Pompeo’s infamous 1/15/2021 “Fact Sheet, Activity at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.” However, all that propagandistic release claimed was that there was illness—nothing about the newly-added “COVID-like symptoms.” In actuality, Pompeo’s claim of illness was based upon alleged sightings of fewer cars in the WIV parking lot, interpreted as more illnesses of personnel. This new report slips further, claiming the speculative illnesses were actually "COVID-like. Second example: “Additionally, uncorroborated media reports indicate there was no cellphone activity at the WIV between October 7, 2019 and October 24, 2019.” It’s footnote is to a Daily Mail article from 5/5/20, explaining that an NBC News’ “London-based verification unit” obtained a largely discredited “private analysis” from an unknown source, claiming that cell phone data was completely missing from high-security areas of the WIV in October, 2019—meaning a shutdown of the lab. However, the Daily Mail notes that the “document also appears to account for only a small number of cellphones that one would expect to be located in a facility that employs hundreds of people. It’s unclear who put together the document. A US official who has looked at the document told NBC News that the report’s data ‘looks really weak to me and some of the conclusions don’t make sense.’” But that doesn’t give the Republicans on the Intel Committee pause for thought. Finally, to claim that the lab was accident-prone, it cites a 3/8/21 article by Josh Rogin, in which Rogin employs an oft-repeated claim that a 2018 cable from the US Embassy in Beijing proves the lab was unsafe. In reality, the Chinese welcomed the scientists from the US Embassy to visit the WIV, the lab modeled on one in Houston, TX, and the visitors were impressed. The cable does say that, in the lab’s early days, the Chinese scientists had asked for any support they [U.S.] could offer as they expanded and tried to get and train more and more technicians. It was a routine request, entirely coherent in the context of the build-up of the lab, and not the “warning” of the hyperventilating Rogin. There’s more, but the point is made. Near the end, there is one footnote to a competent report, one examining the characteristics of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, as to whether it was more likely to have been lab-engineered; however, the report makes no attempt to explain it, as there is no intent to conduct a discussion with the Chinese along such lines. (It would open up the question of military biological labs around the world, such as the infamous Ft. Detrick.) Rather, the Chinese must prove to us that they are not guilty, by opening up any and all facilities the US wants to examine, with no Chinese around to observe what we do. It concludes: “The world deserves unrestricted access to all this information, without Chinese meddling, in order to come to an informed scientific conclusion about the origins of COVID-19.” Such geopolitical games have nothing to do with a collaboration to get at the truth and/or win a war against COVID-19. In fact, should such a dangerous ‘wet-dream’ ever come to pass, the quality of this report pretty much insures that “informed scientific” practices would not be involved.

More than simply celebrating that event alone, worthy though it is, the two heads of state used the occasion to present a global policy determination for their associated nations, and for all of humanity, centered, as President Xi put it, on making “a sizable intellectual contribution to the innovation-driven development of the global nuclear sphere,” based on “strengthening scientific and technical cooperation.”The importance of this development, on the eve of the May 21 Rome meeting of the G-20 Global Health Summit, is that it represents the only pathway forward to solve the current existential breakdown crises facing Mankind. These are two units each at the Tianwan nuclear power plant in the city of Lianyungang, and at the Xudapu nuclear plant in Huludao district in northeastern China.The two presidents chose to make this a major policy-shaping occasion for their two countries, as well as one globally focused on the role of innovation and scientific and technological cooperation in achieving development. “It is necessary to strive for innovation-based development and to strengthen scientific and technical cooperation in the nuclear sphere,” Xi Jinping stated, reiterating that the two countries had agreed “to make a sizable intellectual contribution to the innovation-driven development of the global nuclear sphere.” The Chinese president asserted that “our countries have been providing each other with solid support and have been engaged in close and effective cooperation” in many areas, and that “energy has always been the biggest and most successful branch in our practical cooperation while nuclear energy cooperation has been its strategic priority. We are jointly upgrading our cooperation in this area and have already put into operation a host of major projects.” Through their joint work, Russia and China will “make a sizable contribution to the global development of nuclear energy,” Xi stated. Putin responded by effusively greeting “President Xi Jinping, my dear friend,” emphasizing that “Russian and Chinese specialists are working on this flagship joint project which is truly a milestone. They are building powerful, modern Russian-designed nuclear reactors that meet all safety and environmental standards. It is planned that they will start operating as soon as in 2026—2028, which, as President Xi just said, will be a solid contribution to China’s energy security.” Putin emphasized “Russia’s unique high technology capabilities in industrial production,” adding that “President Xi and I determined the main areas of our genuinely close partnership, the cooperation between Russia and China on nuclear technology, during my state visit to China in 2018… It can be said that Russia-China relations have reached their highest level in history.” The Russian President then stated: “Returning to the topic of nuclear energy cooperation, I would like to note, with great satisfaction, that all the agreements reached at the highest level are being consistently and unfailingly fulfilled.
