U.S. President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin emerged from their four-hour summit discussion today in Geneva, Switzerland, to present to the world a “U.S-Russia Presidential Joint Statement on Strategic Stability,” whose brief text includes the following central commitment: “Today, we reaffirm the principle that a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought.” That exact phrase was used by Presidents Reagan and Gorbachev in their famous November 1985 summit at the height of the Cold War, in the very same location.Presidents Biden and Putin further agreed to establish a bilateral Strategic Stability Dialogue for teams of experts on both sides to begin work on the myriad security-related problems facing the two countries, and the world. The summit meeting, both leaders agreed, was constructive, and a first step towards improving U.S.-Russian relations, which have sunk to their lowest level in decades, perhaps ever. Strategically, this is a step back from the brink, and an urgently needed one. But it is a small first step, which is not yet secure and which the enemies of peaceful cooperation between the U.S., Russia and China will deploy heavily to stop. In fact, the very fact that President Biden met with Putin at all, let alone reached a modest agreement to begin talks, has already provoked wild hysteria among the press hyenas, who tore into Biden at his post-summit press conference in a way they had previously reserved for President Trump. Those media are the paid hit-men for the bankrupt Wall Street and City of London interests, and their Establishment operators in the military-industrial complex, the intelligence agencies, and elsewhere, whose survival depends on stopping U.S. cooperation with Russia and China at all costs. The LaRouche Organization and the Schiller Institute have been insistently warning of the danger of nuclear war, precisely because of the unsalvageable bankruptcy of the entire trans-Atlantic financial system. We have sounded the alarm against the British-led drive to impose Malthusian depopulation across the planet, in the guise of the Great Green Reset. And, most importantly, we have restated and elaborated on the policies presented by Lyndon LaRouche as the only viable long-term strategy for winning a durable peace. Today’s small step, to succeed, must now be followed by the implementation of those policies: cooperation to build a world-class health system in every nation on the planet in order to defeat the pandemic; joint work in space sciences and exploration; and the bankruptcy reorganization of the existing financial system to stop the looming hyperinflationary explosion from destroying all physical economies. Back in March 1984, Lyndon LaRouche addressed exactly these issues, in a document titled “The LaRouche Doctrine: Draft Memorandum of Agreement Between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R.” LaRouche prepared the document a year after his discussions with the Reagan administration had led to Ronald Reagan’s famous announcement of the Strategic Defense Initiative in March 1983, and a little more than a year before Reagan took this approach to the 1985 summit with Gorbachev in Geneva. In it LaRouche stated: “The political foundation for durable peace must be: a) The unconditional sovereignty of each and all nation-states, and b) Cooperation among sovereign nation-states to the effect of promoting unlimited opportunities to participate in the benefits of technological progress, to the mutual benefit of each and all. “The most crucial feature of present implementation of such a policy of durable peace is a profound change in the monetary, economic, and political relations between the dominant powers and those relatively subordinated nations often classed as ‘developing nations.’ Unless the inequities lingering in the aftermath of modem colonialism are progressively remedied, there can be no durable peace on this planet. “Insofar as the United States and Soviet Union acknowledge the progress of the productive powers of labor throughout the planet to be in the vital strategic interests of each and both, the two powers are bound to that degree and in that way by a common interest. This is the kernel of the political and economic policies of practice indispensable to the fostering of durable peace between those two powers…. “The powers jointly agree upon the adoption of two tasks as the common interest of mankind, as well as the specific interest of each of the two powers: 1) The establishment of full economic equity respecting the conditions of individual life in all nations of this planet during a period of not more than 50 years; 2) Man’s exploration and colonization of nearby space as the continuing common objective and interest of mankind during and beyond the completion of the first task. The adoption of these two working-goals as the common task and respective interest in common of the two powers and other cooperating nations, constitutes the central point of reference for erosion of the potential political and economic causes of warfare between the powers.”
The upcoming two-day Schiller Institute International June 26-27 conference is part of a continuous process to build a stronger and stronger anti-Malthusian alliance worldwide, incorporating a network of people who understand the profound importance of a Renaissance of Classical culture. The Summit between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden could not come at a more critical point in history. Not only current history, but universal history. The Peace of Westphalia in 1648 ended the decades of warfare in Europe by establishing the concept of national sovereignty between nations, based on the principle that a nation’s national interest rests on the interests of the others. This principle has been breached many times, and horrible wars fought as a result, and none more deadly and destructive as the global wars of the 20th “Century of War,” as Lyndon LaRouche called it.But under the direction of Franklin Roosevelt, a United Nations Charter was drafted and implemented following the Second World War, aimed at re-establishing the principles underlying the Peace of Westphalia, and mechanisms (imperfect ones) to manage conflicts before military actions were taken. These ideas were advanced further in 1954 when China and India, represented by Zhou Enlai and Jawaharlal Nehru, resolved their conflict of the time by formulating the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence—territorial integrity; non-aggression; non-interference in internal affairs; equality of nations; and peaceful coexistence. These principles were adopted in 1955 by the participants of the Bandung Conference of African and Asian nations, free of their former colonial rulers, and in 1961 at the founding of the Non-Aligned Movement. Historian Patrick Lawrence, in an article posted today in Consortium News, reviewed these Five Principles, adding that the US “has not once, not in any given year, observed even one of Zhou’s principles. It has always, in any given year, abused all five.” While that may be an exaggeration, Lawrence’s point is that this may be a moment of truth for the US—that in fact Presidents Biden and Putin may be on track to effect a change towards the better in bilateral relations, towards the profound notions of Westphalian sovereignty, towards restoring sanity in US foreign relations. A similar point was made by Ray McGovern, who was a leading CIA analyst of Soviet/Russian affairs for 27 years. McGovern, in a June 9 interview posted on his website, www.raymcgovern.com, pointed to the fateful day of April 13, when four events took place on that single day: it was announced that the Russians had deployed significant military forces on the Ukraine border; Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu confirmed that deployment; Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned the US that its planned deployment of two destroyers into the Black Sea at this dangerous moment was “playing with fire” (the deployment was scrapped); and President Biden called President Putin, setting in motion the process leading to this Summit. McGovern was not predicting any particular outcome—he warned that the media and the war party in the US were doing everything they could to “mousetrap” the meeting. Although it is apparent to the world that President Biden is surrounded by advisors and military-industrial spokesmen promoting confrontation with both Russia and China, it is also true that he initiated a two-hour phone call with President Xi JInping, despite his Secretary of State Antony Blinken continuing the Pompeo lies about Chinese “genocide” and “slave labor.” And, he initiated a phone call to Putin on a day which could literally have seen the beginning of a war, a war which could have led to the annihilation of the human race. After being tricked by a journalist into calling Putin a “killer” on March 17, Biden was pushed by the press on Monday to repeat the gaff, but responded instead: “I have met with him. He’s bright. He’s tough. And I have found that he is a—as they used to say when I used to play ball—a worthy adversary.” The world is sitting on a precipice, facing the danger of a financial hyperinflationary break down; of a global war between nuclear superpowers; of a pandemic which is infecting and killing more people this year than all of last year; and an economic breakdown of the productive forces across most of the world outside of China and its periphery. As the series of Schiller Institute Conferences over the past year has demonstrated, it is possible, and absolutely necessary, to bring together people of good will from every part of the world—political leaders; scientists; medical professionals; artists; youth—to forge the ties amongst nations and disparate cultures to both address this existential crisis and to launch the new paradigm required to build a world worthy of human dignity for all. The upcoming conference, on June 26-27, will continue that process. Register today!
The meeting today in Geneva has been played down by both sides. Yet, the fact they are meeting is significant. It comes in the midst of worsening relations between the U.S. and Russia. And it follows a not-fully successful effort by the Anglo-American geopolitical War Hawks to pull the "Alliance of Democratic States" into an agreement for heightened confrontation with Russia and China. While some of the rhetoric was harsh, with wild accusations against both states, it is also clear that not everyone was buying into the idea that more sanctions and bluster against them would accomplish anything, especially when no real evidence backing the charges against Putin and Xi has been presented. In the absence of a solid front in favor of heightened confrontation against Russia and China, is it possible that an actual dialogue might begin?
Instead of engaging the leaders of Russia and China in a serious deliberation on what to do about the multiplicity of crises affecting the world, the G7 and NATO leaders put forward a series of unserious, if not downright lunatic proposals, during their confabs over the last days. Their proposals for global infrastructure and battling the COVID pandemic were not serious, but instead would continue the policies which have left infrastructure -- including that of public health -- incapable of serving the needs of nations and their people. As for their strategic communique, it is more of the same false accusations against Russia and China, to justify military buildup and geopolitical confrontation. Where are the statesmen and women, when they're needed? They will be at the Schiller Institute online conference, June 26-7. Join us!
To quote a Chinese professor’s acerbic and brutally accurate observation, just before the G7 heads of state and government met at a resort in an impoverished area of Great Britain: “Far from confronting China, these Western leaders are only in confrontation with reality, and with the interests of the American people and the people of the world at large.” Trying to impose an insane new financial bubble called “Green New Deal,” based on deindustrializing advanced economies and making developing nations unsurvivable, the leaders of the trans-Atlantic democracies are too worried about bailing out their own banking systems to offer anything of value to the rest of the world. And as for the “rules” of their “rules-based order,” the same observer aptly said, “The time when a small group of countries can impose the rules on others, is past.”A counter-Belt and Road Initiative from the G7? The ugly April speech by the Brits’ top “green” banker Mark Carney to African leaders, in which he told them to give up land, resource and industry development to get “carbon offset” cash payments from the likes of Microsoft, looks like all there is. The heads of state and government, in their summit just concluded, renewed a pledge made in 2009, and several times since, without result, to “spend $100 billion a year to help poorer countries cut carbon emissions.” Specifically, the G7 said they pledged to “mobilize $100 billion/year from public and private sources, through to 2025.” None of the seven “leading” nations promised anything specific, just as they have not during the past 12 years. This does not look at all like an “alternative to China’s Belt and Road Initiative” so much spoken of by the seven rather economically desperate heads of state and government. Unless the “private sources” refers to tech and other giants like Microsoft, maliciously buying their way out of carbon emissions for executive jets and the like, by paying cash to take developing nations’ land and resources out of development. Moreover, along with this new “green finance” bubble is coming rising and spiking inflation, especially in food, which is plaguing much of the world. Home and vehicle prices in the United States are rising at 15-20 annual rates. The European Construction Industry Federation warns of frightening rates of increase in iron, steel bars, tar, construction materials for concrete and wood structures “threatening recovery after the pandemic.” The entire developing sector is struck hard by price increases across all categories of food, which the UN Food and Agriculture Organization says have averaged +38% over the past year. China repeatedly warns the United States Federal Reserve that its money-printing, and the European Central Bank’s (each now ten times their size after the Great Financial Crisis), are unleashing a dangerous worldwide inflation. A cartoon in China’s Global Times, a Da Vinci knockoff of “The Last Supper,” called “The Last G7,” shows an American bald eagle at the center of the table reassuring its “disciples” with a printing press that takes in toilet paper and spews out dollars. Confrontation with China and Russia by the “green” new order (now Build Back Better World instead of “Great Reset”) may start war that will escalate and destroy much of humanity, or set off a hyperinflation. It cannot defy physical-economic reality. The unique starting point which can lead both to recovery and to gradually increasing great-power cooperation, is the common mission of building a modern healthcare and public health system in every nation in the world. The “next pandemic” may be COVID-22, and the vaccines now vaguely being promised to the world sometime that year, may have been defeated by the virus by then. There must be hospital, clinic and lab building everywhere, providing the power, freshwater, housing, and training of recruits throughout the developing nations particularly. Everything for this new paradigm is being continuously worked out and created through the conferences of the Schiller Institute: The next, two-day international conference is June 26-27. It’s what we do there, that the world may remember.
The G7 summit followed through with most of the plan composed by the City of London/Wall Street bankers and their allies among the Davos billionaires, adopting a Green agenda which will harm, if not eliminate, human life on the planet, and a call for increased economic warfare against China. While there was some hesitation in adopting the most extreme language pushed by host Boris Johnson and his new buddy, Joe Biden, it is expected that this will be reinforced when NATO heads-of-state meet today in Brussels, to discuss transforming NATO into a global alliance, i.e., into the "Indo-Pacific" region, to "contain" China, which is accused of violating the sacrosanct Rules-Based Order. But the Green New Deal took a hit, with voters in Switzerland rejecting a referendum which would have mandated Swiss adoption of the extreme energy austerity demands of the G7 communique, and support for the Green Party in Germany has fallen sharply in the last weeks.
Helga Zepp-LaRouche addresses an audience of young people from around the world on the method of thinking discovered by Nicholas of Cusa. “[Nicholas of Cusa] developed a method of thinking, of thinking something completely new… It was the idea that human reason has the capability to define a solution on a completely different and higher level, than those on which all the conflicts and contradictions arose. It addresses the capacity to think a One, which is of a higher magnitude and power, than the Many. And once you train your mind to think that way [according to the coincidence of opposites], you have the inerrant key to creativity, and one can apply this way of thinking to virtually all realms of thought.” —Helga Zepp-LaRouche Helga Zepp-LaRouche, founder and chairman of the Schiller Institute, and one of the world’s leading Cusa experts, insists that to get out of the onrushing New Dark Age, mankind must learn from the father of the 15th Century Golden Renaissance, Nicholas of Cusa. We must start with the underlying crisis: that in the method of thinking.
Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts (R) consistently draws capacity crowds at the local town hall meetings he has been having around the state, against the green agenda President Joe Biden announced in his Jan. 27 Executive Order 14008, in particular the “30×30” plan to put 30% of U.S. land and water out of production by 2030. On June 7 Ricketts had a packed crowd of over 100 at the Saunders County Fairgrounds in Wahoo. The next morning, he spoke to a full house of 115 people in Alliance. He has two more meetings over the next 10 days.He denounced the “30×30” decree, saying, “Right now, if you wanted to get to 30% of the United States in conservation, they would have to add on a land mass the size of the state of Nebraska each and every year between now and the next nine years. Another way to think about it is a land mass twice the size of the state of Texas.” At present between 11 and 12% of U.S. land is considered in “protected” status of wilderness or equivalent condition. The “30×30” plot was endorsed today in the “G7 Summit Nature Compact,” released by the leaders of the seven “industrial” nations which met in Cornwall, U.K. on June 11-13. Their Nature document asserts that it, and other green measures, must be done to get to net zero emissions, and to further biodiversity on the planet. It’s a “land grab,” Ricketts said at his meeting. He traced it back to the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, “Earth Summit,” in Rio de Janeiro, which, he said, encouraged nations to set aside 17% of their land and waters to remain in a “natural” state. He reported that in 2019, the demand for setting aside 30% of land was contained in a report by the Center for American Progress. When it comes to caring for the land, farmers are best at it—not greenie bureaucrats—has become a common theme. Ricketts was introduced at the Alliance meeting by the Nebraska Farm Bureau Vice President Sherry Vinton, from a ranching family. She said, “It’s every generation’s goal to pass that land down in better shape. They took care of the land yesterday, we’re taking care of 100% of the land today, and we’re going to take care of 100% of the land tomorrow. We don’t need a directive to conserve 30% of the land by 2030.”
Today in England the leaders of the Group of Seven, at the end of their three-day confab in Cornwall, issued their “Cardis Bay G7 Summit Communiqué—Our Shared Agenda for Global Action To Build Back Better.” The B3W, as they call it—Build Back Better for the World—perspective, laid out in 25 pages, is ultra-green, devoid of anything necessary to really combat pandemics and famine, or to build a modern economy. It features outright bankster swindles based on carbon markets. Moreover, the B3W is a blatant ploy against China and the Belt and Road Initiative, which is building real infrastructure across the globe. President Biden and Secretary Blinken brag about it. Who can accept any of this? The appropriate reaction is seen in the referendum today in Switzerland, where the people voted down the “CO₂ Act.” You can hear the echoes, “There’s a limit to a tyrant’s power…” from the Rütli Oath in Wilhelm Tell, by Friedrich Schiller. The Swiss CO₂ Act, which conforms completely with the Paris Agreement and the new B3W, would have made everyday living impossible, with fuel taxes and other so-called decarbonizing measures. It was concocted under the fraud that greenhouse gas emissions must be cut, to keep the planet from overheating. The no vote came from the rural and other constituencies in 21 of the 26 Swiss cantons. Only Geneva, Basel, Zürich and other urban areas voted green. There are other key expressions of sanity and sovereignty. In the U.S. West and farm states, lawmakers and citizens alike are mobilized against the green deal measures in the Biden Executive Orders from January. The special target for nullification is the so-called “30×30” demand in Executive Order 14008, that 30% of all land and water in the U.S. must be taken out of any productive use by 2030, in the false name of cutting CO₂ emissions and favoring biodiversity. This exact 30×30 demand is also in the G7’s “2030 Nature Compact” released today. In opposition, over 50 counties in 11 U.S. states have passed resolutions to nullify this measure. The leading state opposing “30×30” is Nebraska, which has the most irrigated agriculture of all U.S. states, and has over 97% of its land in private ownership. There is a “30×30 Termination” bill in both the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives. But the geopolitical side of B3W ranks as much, or more, venal and stupid than even the green dogma. Biden, at his post-G7 press conference today at Cornwall Airport Newquay, on the way to chum up with the Queen, recounted, “I proposed that we have a democratic alternative to the Belt and Road Initiative: the Build Back Better. And they’ve agreed to that, and that’s underway as the details of that — we agreed that we’d put together a committee to do that and come up with that … we are going to insist on a high standards to be — for a climate-friendly, transparent alternative to the Belt and Road Initiative.” Biden described the B3W: “It’s a values-driven, high-standard, transparent financing mechanism we’re going to provide and support projects in four key areas: climate, health, digital technology, and gender equity. And we believe that will not only be good for the countries, but it’ll be good for the entire world and represent values that our democracies represent, and not autocratic lack of values.” Secretary of State Blinken on CNN this morning from Brussels said that the U.S. will “leverage” private finance for its B3W and take other steps, so it can “do it in a more positive way than China is doing it with its Belt and Road Initiative.” On ABC News this morning, Blinken repeated: “We have a commitment to work together on something called Build Back Better for the World to work on pooling investments, pooling funds, bringing the private sector in to make investments in health, in infrastructure, in technology for low- and middle-income countries in a way that will produce new markets for our own products and also offer a much more attractive alternative to what China is trying to do in these countries.” This has to stop. The anti-Malthusian resistance, from Switzerland to Nebraska and other locations, is vital to spread. The Schiller Institute’s dialogue process, both at the formal conferences and ongoing, plays the critical role of cross-firing and communicating ideas for a new paradigm. There is no time to lose, given the terrible death toll and hardship from the pandemic, famine and economic breakdown. Both the World Health Organization and World Food Program chiefs stressed that in recent days. In Cornwall for the G7, WHO Director Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stressed that 70% of the world must be vaccinated by 2022, the time of the next G7 meeting, but, he said, that what was pledged at the G7 meeting this weekend is “insufficient.” WFP Director David Beasley on June 10 issued a special appeal for food aid to Ethiopia, where 350,000 people are in dire need, and overall 4 million people are food insecure. He said it was the most sudden and deep food crisis in a single nation in 10 years. The Schiller Institute June 26-27 conference is titled, “For the Common Good of All People, Not Rules Benefiting the Few!”
The G7 meeting opened today with Prime Minister Boris Johnson proving more and more to be a buffoon. Bojo, as he is known, called on the (formerly) most advanced nations of the G7 to unite for the destruction of the world. In his own words: “We’re building back better together. And building back greener. and building back fairer. And building back more equal. Maybe in a more gender neutral, a more feminine way.” In fact, a major focus of the summit is what the controllers of President Biden have labeled the “Clean Green Initiative.” The U.S. officials who gave a background briefing on the G7 Summit openly described it as an “alternative” to China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Why an “alternative?” Because, they said, it would be “climate friendly,” unlike China’s BRI, which, in addition to building big carbon-generating infrastructure projects such as railroads, dams, ports and bridges, is building coal-fired power plants all over Africa.Recall that less than half of the people in Sub-Saharan Africa have access to electricity, and 90% of the continent’s electricity comes from coal-fired plants. Recall also that the former head of the Bank of England, Mark Carney, now the UN climate czar, told Africa last month that they must stop the development of their resources, especially coal, in exchange for “carbon credits,” and that “green police” will be the new colonial Governor-Generals in their countries, to enforce their non-development. The Clean Green Initiative is more than a plan to stop China’s transformation of Africa and other nations into modern industrial economies—it is outright genocidal, in keeping with the Royal Family’s Malthusian hatred of mankind. In fact, it is not surprising that the Royal Family is all over this summit in Cornwall, while also sponsoring parallel meetings in London with the leading mega-bank CEOs, who are the enforcers of the green genocide, committed to cutting credit to all those who refuse their de-carbonization dictates. On Sunday, the Biden’s will have tea with the bloody Queen in Windsor Castle. The LaRouche Organization announced today that 7,500 more copies of the pamphlet “The Great Leap Backward: LaRouche Crushes the ‘Green New Deal’ Fraud,” are being printed this weekend. Everyone is called on to get copies of the pamphlet to get out to friends and local officials. Recall also that the very same powers pushing for the Green New Deal have driven the U.S., the U.K. and the EU into military confrontations with both Russia and China, which has brought the world closer to nuclear war than any time since the peak of the Cold War—in fact, closer than that, since at that time the antagonists at least were talking to each other. The former U.S. Ambassador to the Soviet Union Jack Matlock issued a public letter today, along with other members of the American Committee for U.S.-Russia Accord (ACURA), which states that the British intelligence instigation of the witch-hunt into supposed Russian interference in the 2016 election, although thoroughly discredited, “has now in turn given birth to two much more dangerous phenomena: an escalating militarism reminiscent of the darkest days of the Cold War; and a dangerous erosion of the decades-long bilateral arms control regime negotiated even during that Great Power standoff. These developments imperil not just the two principal players, but are a threat to global peace, prosperity, even survival.” Following the G7 summit, NATO will hold another summit on Monday, June 14, in which they intend to codify the intention for NATO to leave behind their role as a defensive organization of the North Atlantic nations, and to become, in the words of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, a “political-military” alliance, with a global scope of action, focused on countering the imagined “threats” from Russia and China. The UN has been relegated to the dustbin of history, in the imagination of the leaders of this military-industrial axis. Their imagination is deeply flawed. Already Russia, China and India have made very clear that they will neither shut down their own fossil fuels, nor allow the developing nations of Africa and Ibero-America to be forced to give up the hope for development in exchange for the chimera of “carbon credits.” Leading Africans and Ibero Americans have said the same, from South Africa to Nigeria and from Argentina to El Salvador, setting an example for others to have the same courage to act against the new Dark Age. These leaders are increasingly looking to The LaRouche Organization and the Schiller Institute for the leadership which can unite this opposition into a positive force for the good—for LaRouche’s Four Laws and a New Bretton Woods. Two international Schiller Institute conferences this year, on March 20-21 and on May 8, have led the way, uniting leaders of Russia and China, scientists from the U.S., Europe and Africa, medical professionals from around the world, and a growing cadre of youth who wish to have a future. The next virtual Schiller Institute Conference, “For the Common Good of All People, Not Rules Benefitting the Few!” will be held on June 26-27. Plan to attend, and to recruit others to attend as well. The danger is great, but the potential for a new world order based on the advancement of the human spirit is equally on hand, if we choose to create it.
As the G7 leaders take turns patting each other on the back for having good old times again without Trump causing all manner of discord, and wax lyrical about their no doubt very thoughtful ideas for a green future unencumbered with readily available and efficient power supplies—as this fantasy unfolds, reality can be heard knocking, no, pounding on the door. It makes its entry. It comes as inflation—growing by the day, and becoming more and more difficult to ignore by changing the metrics used to hide it. Financial markets, commodities, houses, food, all sectors of the economy are seeing dizzying price increases, many blamed entirely on Covid while being driven by a hyperinflationary policy of money-printing and expansion of the central banks’ balance sheets. It comes as deaths and misery—created by unilateral sanctions that crush livelihoods, devastate economies, prevent development, and deny health care, including vaccines. It comes as war—unnecessary, humanity-ending war used as a threat against any powers that would seek to challenge Anglo-American hegemony. Its principal targets, Russia and China, well recognize the increasing depths of the danger. It comes as lies—as the absurd concoctions presented as authoritative truth by the approved media staffed by, controlled by, and promoted by the London-Wall Street-Washington slime-mold that must hide both the potential of the emerging new paradigm and the genocidal intent and outcome of the policies it promotes to maintain its hold. False conclusions are only a part of the technique—fostering a type of social interaction totally inimical to a socratic search for truth plays an even larger role, in large part by denying the universality of humanity. But reality need not be feared! In fact, its powerful presence allows a quality of communication, of dialogue, possessed by an urgency befitting the time and a heightened openness to discover. It brings with it the work of Lyndon LaRouche, Helga Zepp-LaRouche, and their collaborators, whose work over decades has provided a historical framework for understanding the present world, an economic science for clearing a path forward, and a cultural impulse that allows for profound and impassioned dialogue—the method of the coincidence of opposites. Learn from that movement: • On Friday, June 11, LaRouche Independent for U.S. Senate Diane Sare hosted an economic discussion that laid bare galloping hyperinflation and pointed to the way out. • On Saturday, June 12, Helga Zepp-LaRouche engaged in a discussion with dozens of young people from around the world, addressing directly the coincidence of opposites as it emerged from the creative mind of Renaissance-creator Nicolaus of Cusa. • Also on Saturday, The LaRouche Organization hosted a powerful discussion of sanctions, media control, and organizing. • Looking ahead two weeks, the Schiller Institute will host a two-day conference “For the Common Good of All People, Not Rules Benefiting the Few!” Learn more and register and recruit others to register.
Join us live on Saturday at 2pm EDT. Harley Schlanger and Mike Billington will join Dennis Speed for the Saturday TLO Webcast, while the G7 leaders are meeting inside the belly of the imperial beast in Cornwall. While the UK and the U.S. (under the Biden/Blinken regime) will attempt to unite the G7 behind war mobilizations against Russia and China and the Green New Deal destruction of the industrial economies and depopulation of the developing nations, TLO is both exposing the crime of sanctions, of the Great Reset, and of NATO's effort to turn itself into an imperial world government, while mobilizing those of good will around the world to counter this emerging Dark Age with a new paradigm of cooperation based on the common aims of mankind.
Can Peace Be Achieved Between Israel and Palestine? With the week of three summits now underway, the question on everyone's mind -- at least those who are sane -- is will the London/Wall Street/Silicon Valley War Hawks who control the Biden administration succeed in forcing Russia to give up its sovereignty, and submit to their unilateral order? Or, if Russia does not submit, as I expect it will not, will that move the world closer to nuclear annihilation? On the question of peace in the Middle East, it is not in the hands of either Israelis or Palestinians. The issue is, can the hands of the same geopolitical forces pitting the U.S. against Russia and China, be removed from the throats of Israel and Palestine, so that a broader agreement for economic cooperation, encompassing the whole of southwest Asia, can be reached?
June 11 -- Buoyed by praise from Congressional Democrats and Republicans for his commitment to "stand up to Russia and China", Joe Biden's first words on arriving in the U.K. for a series of summits reflected that bipartisan consensus.
This week's Fireside Chat featured Mike Billington and Dennis Speed. On March 17, 2017, a transcript of Billington's webcast on "Why the British Hate Trump" was published in EIR. Looking back, it is clear that the British terror arose from the fear that Trump was threatening to promote a number of ideas which the British and their US assets believed had been buried for good when they prosecuted Lyndon LaRouche and his associates. Ending the colonial wars which were being waged on behalf of the Empire; being friends with Russia and with China; ending the green Malthusian policies; hinting even at the American System and Glass-Steagall; these sent the British into conniptions, and into an overdrive coup effort. By the time of the 2020 election, none of Trump's original goals had been achieved, and even the baby step of pulling out of the Paris Accord went nowhere when he capitulated and cancelled his planned science debate featuring Prof. Will Happer against the Greenies. Deep State? Yes, but he appointed them to his cabinet. His failure was to not exonerate LaRouche, even knowing that the coup attempts were run by those who had persecuted and prosecuted LaRouche. His only pool of qualified cabinet members, those in the LaRouche movement, fought to get him to cooperate with Russia and China, but instead he allowed his cabinet to mobilize for war against them. The LaRouche Organization’s means to succeed where Trump failed are based on the refusal to compromise on the truth, the building of the international forces for a new world economic and political order, and the continued, living ideas of Lyndon LaRouche. As we enter into a period of hyperinflation, which will steal the life's work of middle-class families, while shutting down more industries and businesses than a year of lock-downs has, why not learn from the past? The 1933 Glass Steagall bill reined in bank and financial speculation, by defending commercial banks and their depositors, while forcing the speculators in investment banks to eat their own losses. Today's varieties of speculative bubbles have created debt many times larger than world GDP -- these debts can never be paid off, but the central banks continue to pump liquidity into the bubbles, while cutting off credit to good producers, dooming the manufacturing, agriculture and trade sectors, all to be enforced by a global central banker's dictatorship. Learn how restoring Glass Steagall can put an end to the bubble economy, and send the swindlers in the banks and shadow banking system, who keep producing new, bigger bubbles for their personal profit, to jail.
Vladimir Putin’s recently expressed convergence with the outlook of late 17th/early 18th century Massachusetts republican thinker, scientist and patriot Cotton Mather, on the nature of humanity and government, is of true strategic importance, as we approach the eve of the June 16 Russia- U.S. Summit. When Putin, during a June 8 speech to social workers, stated: “The very values of mercy, love for one’s neighbor, and support for those in need bind and consolidate the entire centuries-old history of our people. They constitute the spiritual basis of the traditional religions of Russia … the fundamental aim of life should be to do good,” Putin echoed the premise, exposition and very words of Cotton Mather’s 1710 Essays To Do Good. The premise of the idea called “the coincidence of opposites,” is that there is a higher domain—what, for example, is sometimes referred to as “the complex domain”—of ideas, not bounded by the banal linearity of Newtonian space-time, or other equally noxious fictions. In that realm of absolute space-time, there is one human culture, and ideas and the individuals responsible for them, exist in what LaRouche referred to as “temporal eternity.” For example, the Mather family—Cotton Mather and his father Increase Mather in particular—was probably the most important of the seminal influences on the early life and later mission of scientist Benjamin Franklin, the intellectual author of the conspiracy called the American Revolution. Vladimir Putin, however, echoed this “Bonifacius outlook” independently, from a Russian, as well as universal perspective, and this perspective is coincident, from the standpoint of temporal eternity, with that of the ancestors and history of the American republic—including the “current history expression” of those ideas in the writings and deeds of Lyndon LaRouche. Yes, there appears, from the present semi-literate braying of the State Department against Russia and China, to be no hope at the summit for a security breakthrough of the quality required to bring the world to safety. That job, however, is what Lyndon LaRouche has required of this organization, with no excuses for what others might fail to do or say.The June 26-27 Schiller Institute conference organizing process, and the June 16-26 period leading up to it, are a point of inflection, and intervention. Followers of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz should regard this “interval of action” as containing the “best possible” potential—not through the upcoming events themselves, but through our mobilization of a worldwide, “no limits to growth” anti-Malthusian alliance. This can allow the people of the world, through their advocating a world health platform, to disrupt the constructive fraud of geopolitics, and declare that only the health and general welfare of the whole world can come first, that humanity comes first, before anything smaller. “One humanity, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,” is what this movement must pledge its allegiance to. In a higher sense, both the United States and Russia reflect, in this notion of doing good, the impact of Gottfried Leibniz, the founder of physical economy, on both nations—directly and personally on Russia’s Peter the Great, and indirectly on Franklin, through Pennsylvania’s James Logan and Logan’s defense of Leibniz against Newton, as well as John Locke. Leibniz’s long-arc impact on China, both personally and through both the physical-economic writings of Lyndon LaRouche, and the self-conscious adoption of the mission of Leibniz to China of Helga Zepp-LaRouche, has come back to haunt his enemies, and the enemies of humanity in the form of the historic China-Russia “community of principle” collaboration, still missing the United States. The specter of Lyndon LaRouche, and his conceptual ancestors, hangs over the upcoming world proceedings, and not merely because of the 1983 Strategic Defense Initiative. The coronavirus pandemic has crashed the party. The 1974 “economic breakdown and the threat of global pandemics” forecast of LaRouche, the 1995 Ninth Forecast of LaRouche, and LaRouche’s 1999 “Storm Over Asia” presentation, are on the minds of those that may have doubted him, but cannot deny what he said. Even in the United States Congress, we now see the recognition that, yes, the worldwide nature of a pandemic demands that a Franklin Roosevelt-style approach to assisting the world, is the only realistic way to address the continued survival of the United States itself. When Sergey Lavrov says that “I am convinced that we cannot ignore the indisputable fact that the current world system is a sum of accords by the powers of victors in World War II. And Russia will object to those who want to throw the results of this war into doubt,” the real legacy of FDR is being invoked. The post-1945 NATO alliance is rejected, and should be rejected, as a relic of a condition that ended in 1989-91. The principle of world reconstruction of independent, sovereign nation-states, instead of a return to empire, of the 1946 United Nations, as advocated by Franklin Roosevelt and advanced in part by Eleanor Roosevelt, not a post-1991, or post-September 11, 2001 “rules-based system” is the starting point, however imperfect. “We have neither an inferiority complex nor a superiority complex on the global political scene,” Lavrov stated. “However, we are always ready to render assistance to those who need it. This is our historic mission, and it is rooted in centuries of our history.” Russia is prepared in leadership, history and intent, to do good. China has transformed itself in the past half-century to do good, as the improved lives and circumstances of 800 million people in China attest. Like Lyndon LaRouche, Cotton Mather’s more than 450 books and pamphlets were written for those that wished to do good. Today, as that summit process begins, let it be our mission to, by referring to the deeper history of these Leibnizian principles in the practice of statecraft, and particularly as expressed in the documents and books of Lyndon LaRouche, point to the true domain within which the conception expressed by Vladimir Putin, and demonstrated by the Belt and Road Initiative, dwells—the realm of the coincidence of opposites, not geopolitics.
Joe Biden is on his way to Europe today to participate in a series of summits, with his minder, Tony "Rules-Based Order" (RBO) Blinken, faithfully at his side. What has been pre-scripted to occur -- if this week's Congressional testimony by Blinken is an accurate foretaste -- will be a disaster for humanity, as geopolitical provocations against Russia and China would most likely turn out badly for all. But the G7 and NATO can't presume to speak for everyone, as many nations are looking to Russia and China as defenders of the principle of sovereignty, against the arbitrary unilateralism espoused by the imperial authors of the RBO.
On Wednesday morning, Joe Biden and his wife will depart for his first travel abroad as President, an eight-day trip for three summits—the Group of Seven, June 11-13 in Cornwall, England; the NATO heads of state meeting, June 14 in Brussels; and the June 16 Summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Geneva. The principle of leaders of major nations meeting for collaboration is sorely needed in today’s world of crises—the continuing pandemic, famine, and confrontation to the point of the danger of all-out war. However, the counter-forces to potential collaboration, and even to the principle involved of serving the public good, are in high gear to either sabotage the Biden-Putin Summit happening at all, or, in some fantasy-ridden way, to try to dominate the events to steer whole nations into a doomsday course of green de-construction and conflict. It was announced yesterday that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will be alongside Biden when he meets with Putin. Not surprising, but not propitious. As it happens, Blinken was the witness at marathon, day-long Congressional hearings of Appropriations and Foreign Relations Committees, in the House of Representatives all day Monday, and in the Senate today. The recurring theme, expressed with smarmy bi-partisanship, was that Russia and China are U.S. enemies; they oppose U.S. “values,” and so on and on. For example, Rep. Gerald Connelly (D-VA) asserted that NATO must no longer be only a defense organization, in the military sense in which it was founded, but now be active “for democracy,” against malign leaders. “It must be an antidote to Putin and Xi…. Democracy must be built into the architecture of NATO” itself, for “democratic resilience.” Blinken assured him, it will be. He said that in 2010—the last year of NATO’s formal “conceptual” mandate— Russia was referred to as a “partner,” and China hardly mentioned at all. Now, preserving democracy against these nations must be NATO’s official conceptual charter. There were dozens of such exchanges and kindergarten-level jingoism. As NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said this past week: NATO is no longer just a military alliance, but a “military-political” alliance, and “global,” not just in the “Atlantic” as the name may mistakenly imply. In line with all this, Biden’s first stop tomorrow will be to Mildenhall, England, to the Royal Air Force base, where the U.S. Air Force 100th Air Refueling Wing is located, the only permanent U.S. refueling site in the European theatre. He will address American personnel. Thursday, he will meet with Prime Minister Boris Johnson, in what media itineraries describe as an occasion to stress the special U.S.-UK relationship. Sunday, the Bidens will go to Windsor Castle to meet with the Queen. This political alignment is as venal as it is dangerous, but it also is delusional. The monetarist financial system associated with the U.S.-U.K. special financial relationship of Wall Street and the City of London, is now in the terminal phase. It cannot continue. Look at today’s hyperinflation, worsening by the hour. There will either be a break-forward into a new paradigm of economic policy, and foreign relations, favoring peoples and nations, or there will be chaos and misery, with the likelihood of war. Helga Zepp-LaRouche, Schiller Institute Chairwoman, is stressing this forcefully in recent communications, warning that the hyperinflation shows that a major phase-change is in store. “It is not endless…not a bad infinity.” One manifestation of the end-phase is that people cannot afford to eat. International prices of basic foods—taken as a group—in May are up 38 percent over their level in May, 2020, measured and weighted by different categories. This is the latest report from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization’s Food Price Index, a monthly tracking survey, issued on June 1. The FAO gives details—e.g., corn (maize) prices are up 89 percent over that period; dairy products prices are up 28 percent, etc. Look at COVID-19, now raging in the Southern Hemisphere, as well as in India and at points in Southeast Asia. The Pan American Health Organization’s latest survey reports surges from Chile to the Caribbean. Amidst this terrible picture, there are instances which stand out, of the opposite paradigm of compassion, sanity, and sound policy. On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum last week, President Putin met with representatives of many pharmaceutical companies, investors, and nations, on plans to rapidly establish Sputnik V vaccine production facilities in many places. So far 25 firms and 14 nations are involved, plus 30 investors from 17 nations. Among the heads of state in the meeting (virtually) were those of Argentina and Serbia. Nations participating in setting up vaccine facilities include Mexico, Germany, Italy, Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, and more. This exemplifies the spirit to be addressed everywhere, in mobilizing for a new paradigm for mankind. The theme of the upcoming, two-day Schiller Institute international (virtual) online conference: “For the Common Good of All People, Not Rules Benefiting the Few!”
Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts is leading the charge in Western and farm states against the Green Reset “30×30” anti-food, anti-population plan. In May, Ricketts launched a series of town hall meetings, some of which have turned out standing-room-only crowds. The latest one, in Clay County, June 3, saw more than 200 in attendance.Denouncing this “radical climate agenda,” Ricketts told the crowd, “This fight is now in our own backyard. We are on the front lines. We are in the trenches.” He warned farmers also to beware how the new Fed policies will tell them how to farm their land. Nebraska, where 97% of the land is reportedly privately owned, has indeed become a hotbed of resistance to the drive to cut agriculture production worldwide. Since Biden signed the sweeping green Executive Order 14008 in January, Nebraska has seen 23 counties—the most in any single state—pass resolutions against it, according to media coverage. In April, Ricketts corralled governors from 14 states to sign a letter against the 30×30 plan, and the state Attorney General (along with the Kansas AG) issued his own letter. On May 18, Kansas Senator Roger Marshall, along with North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer (both Republicans), introduced S1673, the “30×30 Termination Act,” which would block federal funds from going to the President’s executive order. Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert denounced the 30×30 plan in a stinging op-ed in the Washington Examiner on May 1, and introduced companion “30×30 Termination” legislation into the House of Representatives. Additionally, two Kansas legislators, Sen. Jerry Moran, and Rep. Tracey Mann, have taken it one step further, introducing companion bills—HR3314 and S1682, what they are calling the “No Land Grab Act 5 of 2021”—which would explicitly block the 30 by 30 portion of the Biden edict. As opposition to E.O. 14008 has quickly spread—prairie fire fashion—through the Midwestern heartland, administration officials have been forced to beat a hasty retreat, and are now virtually tripping over themselves to insist that this is, and always was, a “voluntary” program. On May 6, the Interior Department issued the America the Beautiful report, which, according to Amanda Zalucky, writing on TownTalk, mentions the word “voluntary” a ridiculous number of times. That this program is voluntary may be true, but what is not voluntary, are the intentions of its ideological sponsors, including Malthusians the likes of the late Prince Philip and his oldest son Prince Charles, who see humanity as a blight on the planet, and the reduction of food—to the point of creating famines—as one of the easiest and cheapest ways of “culling the herd.”
President Joe Biden, who is going to Europe later this week for summits with G7 leaders, NATO heads of state and then Russian President Putin, wrote an op-ed published in the June 5 Washington Post and other media. Biden said the purpose of his major foreign trip was, in essence, to confront and back off Putin and, in absentia, Chinese President Xi Jinping.Claiming that his Presidency has re-established American leadership in economics and the global Green New Deal (his purpose in rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement), Biden wrote: "So, when I meet with Vladimir Putin in Geneva, it will be after high-level discussions with friends, partners and allies who see the world through the same lens as the United States, and with whom we have renewed our connections and shared purpose. We are standing united to address Russia’s challenges to European security, starting with its aggression in Ukraine, and there will be no doubt about the resolve of the United States to defend our democratic values, which we cannot separate from our interests. “In my phone calls with President Putin, I have been clear and direct,” the President went on. The United States does not seek conflict. We want a stable and predictable relationship where we can work with Russia on issues like strategic stability and arms control…. “At the same time, I have also imposed meaningful consequences for behaviors that violate U.S. sovereignty, including interference in our democratic elections. And President Putin knows that I will not hesitate to respond to future harmful activities. When we meet, I will again underscore the commitment of the United States, Europe and like-minded democracies to stand up for human rights and dignity.” This goal is dangerous to try and impossible to achieve. The trans-Atlantic financial system is wracked with unemployment on a large scale, inflating rapidly and threatening to collapse. The United States and European governments have not adopted any major “Marshall Plan” of infrastructural rebuilding to recover from the pandemic, have lost leadership in energy sciences and the dynamics of space exploration, and in fact have not created any productive employment at all, simply handing out relief funds generated by great volumes of new government debt. The financial system centered in the City of London and Wall Street banking giants will blow up—if these giants are not broken up in time—rather than “supporting” such aggressive stances to Russia and China. There is, in fact, only one mission Biden could take to these summits with other major powers, which would serve to advance “human rights and dignity,” including the human right to life and health and the dignity of a productive contribution to the future of the human race. That mission is the building of a modern system of healthcare—hospitals, clinics, trained medical staff—and public health monitoring in every nation in the world. The last year has shown that almost no nation has a modern healthcare system equal to a serious pandemic, and that definitely includes the nation Joe Biden now represents. Since such a mission also requires the building of other kinds of new, high-technology infrastructure in developing nations worldwide—such as power and clean water facilities and new housing—it can only be carried out through cooperation not only with European “allies,” but with Russia and with China as well as other Asian technological powers. Though very unlikely to come from this President at these June summits, it is the only mission any president could achieve.
Joe Biden's op ed in the {Washington Post} on June 6, outlining his "strategy" for the upcoming series of summits, shows the degree to which he is operating within the dangerous framework of British-scripted geopolitical axioms. "Alliance of Democratic States", "adherence to Rules-Based Order", addressing the "challenges posed by Russia and China" are some of the phrases which reflect those axioms. But at the same time, there is a growing recognition among some security and defense officials of the "growing risk of a security crisis...leading to nuclear use", if these axioms are not changed. We intend to change them! Sign up for the Schiller Institute's online conference on June 26-27 at schillerinstitute.com.
Today’s hysterical warnings of a coming cataclysm of climate change are only the latest expression of the anti-human religion of modern environmentalism created in the 1960s and 1970s. They share with the false 1972 prophecies of The Limits to Growth both an intent to use supposedly scientific models to justify policy objectives chosen for other reasons, and a wild rejection of the most characteristic quality of the human species. That quality is the creativity that allows us to achieve over historical time—in what are essentially instantaneous transformations from the standpoint of evolutionary time—the development of new resources and an improving ability to create a more nurturing synthetic environment. Anti-entropic growth characterizes the universe as a whole. The dawning age of mammals replaced the majority of the far inferior reptiles, not because of an external event, but because the mammalian life was characterized by a higher energy-intensity than the reptiles, and by the creation of a more stable internal environment (warm-blooded endothermy) that supported more specific and powerful biochemical reactions. So too does the human species develop new resources by discovering new principles—transforming uranium from a mostly useless yellow rock to the most concentrated form of fuel. So too does the human species develop the improved synthetic environment of a platform of physical infrastructure that allows individual business and productive processes to thrive in a medium of efficient transportation, healthy people, and plentiful energy. If we are to learn from nature, it is not in seeking to maintain the present condition of the world’s (far from ideal) climates, flora, and fauna. Taking a longer view reveals a biosphere characterized by change, by an increasing intensity of life. To stop growth is to destroy society. Lyndon LaRouche brilliantly polemicized against The Limits to Growth on precisely this basis, and wrote decades later about the characteristic of economic growth: “In general, the potential productivity of an economy is limited on the higher side by the energy density of the basic modes of energy production used by that economy. The higher the energy density the cheaper the energy can be in terms of social costs of producing energy, and the more abundant the energy available for expanding the economy. The step-by-step advance from a full-scale fission energy economy into a fusion energy economy, is the unique path of development, which enables our nation and the world to increase the effective rate of capital formation into the next century and beyond. It is the only policy which leads to this successful survival of our civilization.” Nature and the human soul cry out: progress is the truest substance! The evil fools who attempt, today, to create a global imperium, as an enforcement mechanism for the crushing of energy and productivity inherent in their so-called “climate” goals, are attempting the impossible. Humanity cannot cease to grow, without ceasing to exist as humanity. Although this modern British financial-“environmental” imperialism cannot succeed, the question before us is whether we will reject its false idols and lead a renewed, impassioned cultural movement based on the human individual being imago viva Dei.
President Putin, in reflecting on present U.S.-British-NATO policies -- which include endless wars and endless sanctions -- said that he can see, as a former citizen of the Soviet Union -- that the U.S. "is now walking the Soviet Union's path, and its gait is confident and steady." Look at the murderous effects of the Caesar Sanctions against Syria, which besides denying food, medicine and other essential products to people victimized by a dirty war, in which the U.S. backed Islamic terrorists, threaten to punish any country or company which would aid in the reconstruction of that nation. This does not protect the people of the U.S. nor serve their interests, but is done to defend those who have proclaimed a unilateral "Rules-Based Order", to benefit the imperial corporate cartel interests, which includes the intent to carry out regime change in Russia and China.
