That Facebook exercises enormous power over discourse and social interactions cannot be denied. The House Antitrust Committee considers the social media giant—along with Google, Amazon, and Apple—as monopolies, in violation of the essentially dormant antitrust laws. From this standpoint, calls for regulating the social media giants might seem to be a useful way of preventing these giant players from exerting outsized influence over speech and thought. But the vast majority of regulations and regulatory powers sought by the Congress and Biden Administration would achieve precisely the opposite effect, consolidating the monopoly status of these firms, preventing the rise of competitors, and using that power to censor speech that offends the revealed Truth of the would-be tyrants.Enter Frances Haugen, a telegenic and seemingly informed “insider” acting as a courageous “whistleblower” to inform a shocked country of the terrible effects of Instagram and Facebook. The crime of Zuckerberg? He “has allowed choices to be made where the side effects of those choices are that hateful and polarizing content gets more distribution and more reach.” The New York Times summarized her testimony as “calling for regulation of the technology and business model that amplifies hate.” The London Economist enthuses that her testimony may bring together the U.S. Senate, “united against a common enemy and promis[ing] Ms. Haugen that they would hold Facebook to account.” Haugen’s supposed act of whistleblowing appears as though coordinated by a PR firm to advance the growing calls for censorship over speech. Over the last three years, the percentage of U.S. adults who align with or lean towards the Democratic Party who want tech companies to take more steps to “restrict false info online” rose from 60% to 76%. And the percent among that demographic who want the U.S. government itself to restrict “misinformation” online soared from 40% to 65%! Nearly two-thirds of the people in this grouping now oppose the tradition of free speech, enshrined in the First Amendment, defended by the old ACLU that supported the rights even of neo-Nazis to rally, and attacked by Sen. Joe McCarthy who attempted to make certain political views essentially illegal. Today, the Congressional committee investigating the events on Capitol Hill on January 6 is pursuing a broader and broader scope of investigation reminiscent of McCarthy’s vile actions of the 1950s. Will those called to testify be asked, “Are you now, or have you ever been, a supporter of Donald Trump?” Increased regulation of the social media space would not only be an obvious violation of the First Amendment, based on a series of court rulings that when the government compels private actors to censor speech, it is effectively the same as the government doing so directly (and unconstitutional). Furthermore, it would make the monopoly powers yet more entrenched, by creating an enormous barrier to entry. Developing a comprehensive comment/posting moderation workflow is enormously expensive, and would be absolutely impossible for new entrants that could compete with Facebook and Google, which are playing in the internet space the role assumed by the legacy media. Breaking up the monopolies, demanding that Congress not legislate speech codes (either directly, or through the indirect means of threats), and reforming the Section 230 protections offered to social media companies in a way that distinguishes between truly free platforms and those that censor—these would be useful paths forward. But the intention of glorifying the testimony of Haugen, lauded by Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) as “a 21st century American hero” is precisely the opposite—designed to promote “getting tough on Facebook” in a way that would both strengthen its monopoly power and force a greater censorship of political viewpoints.
The Wall Street Journal set off explosions yesterday with a report claiming that about two dozen U.S. military trainers, consisting of special operators and Marines, have been in Taiwan working with the Taiwanese military for at least a year. “The U.S. special-operations deployment is a sign of concern within the Pentagon over Taiwan’s tactical capabilities in light of Beijing’s years-long military buildup and recent threatening moves against the island,” the Journal claimed. “The special-operations unit and the Marine contingent are a small but symbolic effort by the U.S. to increase Taipei’s confidence in building its defenses against potential Chinese aggression.”In Taipei, officials were reported by Radio Taiwan International to be “coy” about the Journal report. Responding to questions about the report, Premier Su Tseng-chang thanked countries that share Taiwan’s values for their support. He says the government is doing all it can to defend its sovereignty and its people, and to maintain peace in the region. Meanwhile, Vice Defense Minister Po Hung-hui says that Taiwan’s military welcomes opportunities for international cooperation. However, Po declined to comment directly on the report of a U.S. military presence. In Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said “the U.S. should ... stop arms sales to and military ties with Taiwan to avoid seriously damaging China-U.S. relations and peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. China will take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.” “Why just two dozen members? Why secretly? The U.S. should send 240 servicemen publicly, in U.S. military uniform, and make public where they are stationed,” Hu Xijin, the editor in chief of China’s English-language Global Times, tweeted in response to the Journal article, concluding, “See whether the PLA will launch a targeted air strike to eliminate those U.S. invaders!”
The density of crises facing every nation on Earth right now has never been greater, especially now, as a hyperinflationary breakdown stares us in the face. The most passionate and agapic statesmen and women are needed if we are to pave a path forward. This is why orienting ourselves toward the frontiers — space exploration, thermonuclear fusion, and other new scientific revolutions — is absolutely essential for our nation and the world today. Megan Dobrodt of The LaRouche Organization's Science Team discussed this and the release of our new pamphlet: "The Coming US Economic Miracle on the New Silk Road."
Oct. 7, 2021 (EIRNS)—Klaus Schwab, President of the World Economic Forum (WEF), is activated, along with the full WEF network of billionaires, royals, and mega-cartels, to push their “Metrics” of allowable economic activity, for stakeholders in every aspect of life (business, government, fraternal, religious etc.) to police fellow citizens to stop doing anything that contributes to development for people. Why? Because, Schwab declares, it is a “conundrum” that human development itself hurts the planet. So, stop it. On Jan. 18, 2021, Schwab released his book on this at the WEF Davos Forum, titled, Stakeholder Capitalism: A Global Economy That Works for Progress, People and Planet. On page 154, he spelled out his point. To add stress, he first recounted economic infrastructure development details from Ethiopia, its railroads, agriculture gains, the Grand Renaissance Dam, even renewable energy, and then he insisted that it has to stop. The kind of development being undertaken in Ethiopia “reveals the central conundrum of the combat against climate change. The same force that helps people escape from poverty and lead a decent life is the one that is destroying the livability of our planet for future generations. The emissions that lead to climate change are not just the result of a selfish generation of industrialists or western baby boomers. They are the consequence of the desire to create a better future for oneself.” So, metrics are being worked out by Schwab, the WEF, and the entire green-tyranny apparatus, on what you and your enterprise are allowed or not allowed to do—factory, railroad, farm, civic, religious, or household. The regulations are drawn up in terms of environment, sustainability, and governance (ESG). They are assembled in different taxonomies intended for each nation and locale. Schwab reported on the process on pages 210-215: “ ‘World Economic Forum’s International Business Council,’ led by Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan, late last year presented the ‘Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics.’ They measure companies’ progress toward environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals in numbers and thereby allow them to optimize for more than just profits.” (See also, World Economic Forum White Paper, “Measuring Stakeholder Capitalism: Towards Common Metrics and Consistent Reporting of Sustainable Value Creation,” September 2020) Schwab continues: “During the consultation process on the metrics, more than two-thirds of the 140 International Business Council members—including many of the largest companies in the world—supported them too. And all major accounting firms, the so-called Big Four (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC) even helped develop the metrics. They are committed to helping the metrics become a global standard. In this way, the Stakeholder Capitalism metrics are a major step in turning the idea of stakeholder capitalism into a practical reality. “A widespread adoption of these Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics is realistic and could happen as soon as 2022.” Mega-companies conferring on these ESG Standard Metrics include the Big Techs, and the Big Four—Bank of America, Blackrock, DSM, Philips, and others. Schwab wrote a glowing account of how Big Tech and others have a privileged role in enforcing ESG. “Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal and Palantir, and an early outsider investor in Facebook said in the Wall Street Journal 2014: ‘A monopoly like Google is different. Since it doesn’t have to worry about competing with anyone, it has wider latitude to care about its workers, its products and its impact on the wider world. Google’s motto—“Don’t be evil”—is in part a branding ploy, but it is also characteristic of a kind of business that is successful enough to take ethics seriously without jeopardizing its own existence.’ ” Germany is a test case for an all-encompassing ESG metrics taxonomy. In June, a Malthusian Supply Chain Law was enacted, in which the ESG metrics are to apply. An all-Europe ESG Metrics law is being worked on. The EIR Daily Alert issue for Jan. 21, 2021, reported on Klaus Schwab’s Jan. 18 press conference to announce his book, and the WEF activities for the coming 2021 year of events. We revealed: “The WEF briefing said they will hold dozens of events, leading up to their in-person Singapore annual WEF meeting in May, followed by the G7, then the G20, the September UN 2021 Food Systems Summit, the Biodiversity COP15 event, and the November COP26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow. Schwab pledged ‘a mobilization’ to ‘rebuilding’ and ‘re-setting’ our world.”
Join us LIVE on Saturday at 2pm EDT with our featured guest Harley Schlanger. As world hyperinflation, seen in exploding shipping and energy costs, loots and gouges real living standards and wages and disrupts the global supply chain, the ballooning bill is already coming due for the “Great Reset.” The Venetian/London “financial regime change” under the cover of the Green New Deal, is now being loudly announced in these words: the age of abundance is dead. The United States and Europe will now be put through a Malthusian “shock therapy” controlled dis-integration of the economy. By dis-integration, we mean dismembering. Vladimir Putin, speaking on October 6, talked about European idiocy in energy policy, the folly of short term energy contracts as opposed to long-term investment, and the need to end financial speculation. That “shock therapy” approach, so well known to Putin, aided by new, unknown pandemics, can, if not stopped, depopulate the very planet itself. China’s and Russia’s standing up for Haiti this past week, thus concretizing the economic premise, and promise, of the Global Development Initiative (GDI) announced by President Xi Jinping at the United Nations, is a Great Reset in another direction. The recently released TLO pamphlet, The Coming US Economic Miracle through the New Silk Road, charts the immediate way ahead. Harley Schlanger will discuss these matters, as well as update current history, at 2 PM Saturday.

Inflation, breakdown in supply chains, etc., are real. But they are only a reflection of a broader dynamic, which Lyndon LaRouche called a Systemic Breakdown Crisis". This is being worsened by the push for "Green" policies, and the "Great Reset." Friday Question: What do you make of the Facebook whistleblower, who charged that Facebook was aware of the "toxic impact" of Instagram, and the algorithms which promote "extremism" and polarization? The narrative emerging is that the company prioritizes profit over public good --No Kidding, but that is the modus operandi of the entire neoliberal system: So, why is this coming out now?
A generation ago, a schematic of an economic “Collapse Function”—a hyperinflationary breakdown process, was put forward by economist-statesman Lyndon LaRouche at a conference on Rome, Italy, which makes clear the nature of what we see today. Called the “Typical Collapse Function,” or “Triple Curve,” it shows that if physical production is declining, while the volume of financial aggregates is rising, and monetary values likewise are rising to support the difference, there reaches a phase in which shock and blow-out inevitably set in. He released that in 1994. He also warned repeatedly in the years afterward, don’t comprehend things in any of the simplistic terms of mere price inflation, market correction, supply-and-demand, or some single culpable factor. In March, 2000, for example, during the U.S. gas-pump spike in prices, he warned, “This is simply, predominantly—it is not some ‘market this, and market that’—it’s a hyperinflationary process, which has taken off,” and behind it are larger dynamics. The chain-reactions of breakdown underway today are now dramatic, given the combined effects of decades-long de-structuring of production, with whole sectors of manufacturing and agriculture relocated to cheap-labor sites, and concentrated in dangerous ways, Plus, there is decrepit transportation from years of lack of infrastructure-building in the Trans-Atlantic. Add to this, the sweeping deregulation, spot markets, and speculation. You get shortages and spikes in prices in electricity, fuels, and other necessities. No one can pay—no household, business, government function, etc. Look at the food chain. World food prices are up year on year by 32.8 percent in September, according to today’s UN Food and Agriculture Organization index (for globally-traded foods). In the U.S., prices for crop land and inputs are soaring. Farmland sale prices in Iowa, for example, are setting new records every month, after rising 10 percent year on year. In August, there was an all time record price of $22,300 per acre; but this week, came a new record of $26,200 per acre. For fertilizers, five of the eight major types rose 5 percent in price from August to September; potash jumped up 13 percent. No new, young farmers can get started; veteran farmers face being driven out of operation. Lyndon LaRouche, in addition to his conceptual diagnosis of the crises, provided the solutions and the method by which to think our way out of the crises. His 2014 “Four Cardinal Laws” embodies the principles for action. This outlook will be featured at the November international conference (online) by the Schiller Institute, whose weekend dates and times, for two days of deliberation, are now being made final, for the widest possible outreach and participation. An invitation is forthcoming. What is front and center, at the same time, is the need to completely defeat the green fraud that blames today’s crises on not acting strongly enough on the “climate emergency,” and the “biological diversity extinction emergency.” The green message is: get rid of people and their activities. Klaus Schwab, President of the World Economic Forum, states this explicitly in his latest book, and makes special reference to Africa. (Stakeholder Capitalism; A Global Economy That Works for Progress, People, and Planet, Wiley, January, 2021). After giving specifics on infrastructure building in Ethiopia (rail, agriculture, dams), he says that this has to stop. This African development “reveals the central conundrum of the combat against climate change. The same force that helps people escape from poverty and lead a decent life is the one that is destroying the livability of our planet for future generations. The emissions that lead to climate change are not just the result of a selfish generation of industrialists or western baby boomers. They are the consequence of the desire to create a better future for oneself.” His alternative? He and his crowd of billionaires, royal parasites, mega-cartels and all, are proposing “Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics” by which they intend to dictate whether any enterprise (factory, household, farm, railway, school) is allowed to exist or not. Schiller Institute President Helga Zepp-LaRouche reported on these viewpoints and economic crises on her weekly webcast Oct. 6, saying , “This is fascism, no less than it was with the Nazis….The present green policy is madness. It is fascism with a green face. It will lead to catastrophic results if it’s not reversed.” President Vladimir Putin tore apart all the green flim-flam and geopolitical lies from the U.S. and Europe yesterday, at his energy teleconference with heads of Russia’s economics firms and ministries. The Kremlin swiftly made a transcript available, including many interchanges with participants. Putin pointed out all the stupidities of the Trans-Atlantic spot markets, deregulation, speculation, and the green transition to unreliable wind and solar. He said, "The practices of our European partners [are to blame for the energy crises]. These practices have reaffirmed that, properly speaking, they have made mistakes. We were talking with the former European Commission; all of its activities were aimed at curtailing the so-called long-term contracts and at transitioning to gas exchange trading…. “It turned out—and today this is absolutely obvious—that this policy is erroneous, erroneous for the reason that it fails to take into account the gas market specifics dependent on a large number of uncertainty factors. Consumers, including, for example, fertilizer producers, are losing all price benchmarks. All of this is leading to failures and, as I said, imbalances.” Near conclusion of Putin’s energy confab, Boris Kovalchuk, CEO of RAO Group, an electricity export/import firm, added some dark humor: “Mr. President, In Germany, government agencies produce video clips telling people how to spend winter without lighting or heating, how to put candles into flower pots to warm up a room, and how to make windows draft-proof with duct tape and cling film. Just a few years ago now, this would have been impossible to imagine, as if the Stone Age was back.”
The announcement of an agreement to hold a virtual bilateral summit between Presidents Biden and Xi before the end of the year could be a sign of calmer heads prevailing at a moment of increasing tension between the U.S. and China. The provocations regarding Taiwan and the South China Sea have added to the danger that war between the two nations is possible. What if, instead, there could be an agreement for the U.S. to join with China, to use the Belt-and-Road Initiative to reconstruct war-torn Afghanistan, through collaboration on joint development projects? The offer from China for that to occur is on the table -- could we be on the verge of a new era of peaceful cooperation?
Those familiar with the fifty-plus-year forecasting practice and record of economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche will perhaps recognize the deeper significance of the following statement, a significance probably unknown to the writer himself. In a London Guardian October 1 op-ed entitled “America faces supply-chain disruption and shortages. Here’s why,” author Matt Stoller says: “… what we’re experiencing is also the net result of decades of policy choices starting in the 1970s that emphasized consumer sovereignty over citizenship. The consolidation of power into the hands of private equity financiers and monopolists over the last four decades has left us uniquely unprepared to manage a supply shock. Our hyper-efficient globalized supply chain, once romanticized by men like Tom Friedman in The World Is Flat, is the problem. Like the financial system before the 2008 crash, this kind of economic order hides its fragility. It seems to work quite well, until it doesn’t.”It is not enough to point out that what seems to be a sudden seizing up of the trans-Atlantic goods-distribution system is not the product of the Covid pandemic of the past 20 months, but something more “long-range.” History is never “objective” in that way. What was the agency that was at work here? Thirty-five years ago today, an “event” occurred that, if omitted from current history, renders it impossible to fully understand what is happening now. THE PRICE FOR CHANGING HISTORY Lyndon LaRouche, in 2004, in a report titled “The Night They Came to Kill Me” explained the true, “subjective” nature of that “objective” trans-Atlantic-wide economic devolution. "On October 6, 1986, a virtual army of more than four hundred armed personnel descended upon the town of Leesburg, Virginia, for a raid on the offices of EIR and its associates, and also deployed for another, darker mission. The premises at which I was residing at that time were surrounded by an armed force, while aircraft, armored vehicles, and other personnel waited for the order to move in shooting. Fortunately, the killing did not happen, because someone with higher authority than the Justice Department Criminal Division head William Weld, ordered the attack on me called off. The forces readied to move in on me, my wife, and a number of my associates, were pulled back in the morning…… “The 1973 campaign for my ‘elimination,’ the near-slaughter of Oct. 6-7, 1986, and the stubborn effort to exclude me from the debates now (in 2004), are each and all products of the same issue of my fight against the effort of certain liberal economists, and others, to put the world as a whole under the thumb of the policies of former Nazi Economics Minister Hjalmar Schacht. “The ultimate origin of these and related actions is not the U.S. Department of Justice, but a much higher authority than the U.S. government, the same assortment of Venetian-style international financier-oligarchical interests, and their associated law firms, which unleashed the wave of fascist dictatorships in continental Europe over the interval 1922-1945. The common feature of those international financier interests, then, back during 1922-1945, and today, is their present commitment to imposing Schachtian economics upon both the U.S.A. itself, and also on the world at large… “The shift of the U.S. and British economies away from the U.S. ‘s leading role as the world’s greatest producer nation, toward a pro-Schachtian, ’post- industrial’ utopianism, was the hall- mark of the 1966-1968 Nixon campaign for the Presidency. The follies of this ‘post-industrial’ shift into wild-eyed monetarism, led the U.S. government to the point, that it must abandon its foolish post-Kennedy economic and cultural policies, or make exactly the choice I had warned that I feared they would make. Nixon’s decision of August 15, 1971 made the march in the direction of ruin and fascist-like dictatorship inevitable.” Today, as in 1986 and 2004, there are two systems of choice before the world. There is the system of “Reesian choices,” named after the Tavistock Institute’s John Rawlings Rees, typified by the “development policies”—policies of financial looting—of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) toward the continent of Africa ever since the period after JFK’s assassination. Then there is the “American System” of “Hamiltonian” choices, of what has recently been called “win-win cooperation” by the nation of China. For example, when China’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Geng Shuang, recently told that body that the international community should “spare no effort in humanitarian assistance and post-disaster reconstruction” toward Haiti, he opened a “strategic flank in the mind,” that is a far more powerful idea than that of the self-doomed “Operation Orcus/Global Britain” military adventure hurtling to its strategic doom in the trans-Pacific theater. COMPLETING HAMILTON’S UNFINISHED “HAITI MISSION” The United States used to think that way. In 1861, the United States, under Abraham Lincoln, dispatched Ambassador Anson Burlingame as diplomatic emissary to a China then subjugated by the British Empire through the Second Opium War. Today, in 2021, China attempts to reach a United States whose leadership and institutional structure, as well as cultural institutions, have now also been subjugated, and largely devastated by the same “Opium War” method—though this time, not external force, but seduction through Winston Churchill’s “Empire of the Mind” was used. The United States was induced, through the Tavistock Institute and its Frankfurt School subsidiary, to destroy itself, to de-industrialize itself, to reject scientific progress itself, and, now, to depopulate itself. The just-announced proposal, however, for a joint, international mission to defend the sovereignty of the nation of Haiti from the international drug mafias that now subjugate it, by demonstrating, through construction of ports, rail, and power, including nuclear and thermonuclear power, that “economic development is a human right,” if accepted, can bring the United States itself back to its senses. The LaRouche proposal for the emergency reconstruction of Haiti, introducing the higher-order concept of development corridors and an " economic platform" into one of the poorest areas of the world, provides, as with Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s Afghanistan proposal, and especially if successfully advocated by a group of Americans representing the Committee for the Coincidence of Opposites, including those that hail from Haiti, a way for America to return to its previous Hamilton/Lincoln/Roosevelt outlook, that Frederick Douglass, America’s ambassador to Haiti, represented in his living person. The uncorrected flaw in the American Revolution was, as all know, the inability to resolve the Africa chattel slavery matter at the beginning of the creaton of the nation, largely because of the influence of John Locke and his Royal Africa Company on the constitution of South Carolina, and other Southern states. But slavery was not the desired system, originally, even in the Southern colonies. Auguste Levasseur, Secretary to Lafayette, recounted in 1824: “In about the year 1680, the General Assembly of the State of Virginia requested of the parent state that it finally put an end to this commerce in human flesh, infamous and unnecessary in the future, since now the population was numerous enough and active enough to cultivate a land that required only the lightest work to reward the tiller richly. Other Colonies repeated this cry of justice and philanthropy, but the parent country was callous and responded only by this atrocious resolution of Parliament: The importation of Slaves in America is too lucrative for the Colonies to be able to insist that England renounce it forever. This response was accompanied by threats to which it was necessary to succumb since they were in no condition to resist them. Nonetheless, the General Assembly renewed several times its demand….” Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton’s support for the Haitian Revolution, and his co-authorship of Haiti’s Constitution, flowed from his notion of “Artificial labor” as expressed in his 1790 Report on the Subject of Manufactures. Is Thomas Jefferson’s then-opposition to Haiti’s self-government consistent with the now-present United States policy, itself opposite to that of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, of allowing, tolerating, and in effect aiding in the never-ending torture of that population, through refusing to take down the “Dope Inc.” financial oligarchy that dominates it as surely as did the slave-masters of 1791? China, which has, since the Bandung conference of 1955, and now even despite the fact that it is not diplomatically recognized by the government of Haiti, insisted that economic development is a human right for that nation. It has now posed to the entire international community that the same problem China has successfully tackled and solved internally—the eradication of poverty—be solved worldwide. The Global Development Initiative premiered by Xi Jinping at this United Nations session has now placed “economic development as a human right” on the world table. Executive Intelligence Review has answered the United Nations, and the world, by providing a policy orientation for the now-distracted United States. The plan for Haiti invokes, implicitly, FDR’s Four Freedoms, and, explicitly, LaRouche’s Four Economic Laws, to chart a way forward, not only for Haiti, not only for the Caribbean, but by means of eradicating poverty through economic cooperation, for “everywhere in the world.” “YOUR DEATH WILL SAVE THE PLANET” There is only one problem. The financial neo-Malthusians intend to use the illiterate argument that “natural law” is above human rights, to introduce what Fred Wills used to call “the doctrine of regrettable necessity” as the means to argue that billions will have to go away to save the planet. The bill is beginning to come in for this sophistry, in astronomical gas and electricity prices, hyperinflation, supply chain breakdowns, cuts in living standards, and drops in life expectancy that, while blamed on the coronavirus pandemic, preceded it. As stated by Klaus Schwab in the book Stakeholder Capitalism:" The same force that helps people escape from poverty and lead a decent life is the one that is destroying the livability of our planet for future generations. The emissions that lead to climate change are not just the result of a selfish generation of industrialists or western baby boomers. They are the consequence of the desire to create a better future for oneself." Except that Schwab isn’t actually referring in this passage to “western baby boomers,” but to both the Chinese policies for the development of African nations, and the desire of African nations to create a better future. As the Club of Rome’s Alexander King wrote: “The real enemy, then, is humanity itself.” Especially the “high birth rate” in Africa—too many African “carbon footprints.” So, "regrettably", they imply, Africans must be reduced in their numbers, by any means necessary, in defense of "natural law." China’s calling the attention of the world to the crisis in Haiti at the United Nations, seen from the standpoint of the proposal in Executive Intelligence Review written by Richard Freeman and Cynthia Rush, places the United States in the position to choose, not the Tavistock choice method, but the “win-win” method which was always the essential characteristic of the American System which, as Henry Carey put it, “is the only one ever devised the tendency of which was that of elevating vehicle equalizing the condition of man throughout the world.”
Oct. 1 -- In an article posted on September 26 on Yahoo News, reporters Zach Dorfman, Sean Naylor and Michael Isikoff wrote that plans were discussed and drafted in 2017 by CIA officials to silence Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, by kidnapping him and/or assassinating him. (1.) They report that the planning was catalyzed by CIA Director Mike Pompeo, who had an "obsession" with Assange and WikiLeaks. The Yahoo News article confirms in large part reporting from Max Blumenthal of the Gray Zone, published in May 2020, which focused on the CIA's use of Sheldon Adelson's private security team in spying on Assange while he was in asylum at the Ecuadorian embassy in London. (2.) It also confirms the concerns and fears of many committed to free him from a British prison, that the harsh treatment he is receiving there, or his extradition to stand trial in the U.S., are intended to kill him.By 2017, Assange had been living in Ecuador’s Embassy in London for five years. At the time, Ecuadorian officials had begun efforts to grant Assange diplomatic status, to give him cover to leave the Embassy and fly to Moscow, to serve in Ecuador’s Mission there. The authors report that some senior officials inside the CIA and Trump Administration conferred on “options for how to assassinate him, as well spy on his WikiLeaks associates and steal their devices.” Assange had been watched by U.S. intelligence agencies for years, but plans to stop him were spurred by WikiLeaks’ ongoing publication of highly sensitive CIA hacking tools known as “Vault 7.” The CIA believed this revelation caused the largest data loss in CIA history. The authors quote an unidentified source that Pompeo was made completely furious by this event. Pompeo, in his first speech on April 13, 2017 as CIA Director, said: “WikiLeaks walks like a hostile intelligence service and talks like a hostile intelligence service, and has encouraged its followers to find jobs at the CIA in order to obtain intelligence. It’s time to call out WikiLeaks for what it really is: a non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors like Russia.” By identifying WikiLeaks as an "intelligence service", operations against it could be categorized as "offensive counterintelligence," as action against another spy service. This would allow them to avoid filing a "finding" to authorize covert action, which would have brought this to President Trump's attention. Despite efforts to link Trump to the actions against Assange, the reporters could find no evidence of his involvement. The report claims to be based on conversations with more than 30 former U.S. officials—8 of whom described CIA plans to abduct Assange. The report declares, "It was a campaign spearheaded by Pompeo that bent important legal strictures, which may have jeopardized any prosecution of Assange, and risked a damaging episode in the United Kingdom...." They note there was opposition to the proposed operations from both National Security Agency officials, and members of Trump's legal team. Eventually, those arguing for an approach based on the courts, rather than espionage or covert action, won the policy debate. On April 11, 2019, Ecuador’s new government revoked Assange’s asylum and evicted him; British police arrested him, and the U.S. government unsealed its initial indictment of Assange the same day, seeking his extradition from Britain. Pompeo And Russiagate The Yahoo article comes at an inconvenient time for Pompeo, who is highly ambitious and is planning to run for President. His efforts at damage control are instead exposing him as a liar and a hypocrite, while disproving his assertion that he was a Trump loyalist throughout his term as CIA Director and Secretary of State. For example, in an interview with conservative talk show host Glenn Beck, he attacked one of the authors, Michael Isikoff, correctly identifying him as a “big Russiagate hoax perpetrator.” Isikoff was the first to peddle the dossier produced by former MI6 operative Christopher Steele, which was used by Trump opponents in the intelligence community, Democrats and media to assert, falsely, that Trump was aided in his election campaign by Vladimir Putin and Russian hackers, who allegedly provided the documents they hacked from Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee (DNC) computers to WikiLeaks. Publication of those documents exposed corrupt actions of the Clinton campaign in winning the Democratic Party nomination. However, unmentioned by either Pompeo or Beck is that Pompeo, after receiving a briefing in October 2017 by NSA whistleblower Bill Binney—in which Binney presented evidence that there was no Russian hack—did nothing to expose the Russiagate hoax. Though he asked Binney if he would meet with NSA and FBI officials to present his analysis, Binney confirmed that there was never any follow-up by Pompeo. Instead, Pompeo's spokesman said, “The Director stands by, and has always stood by, the January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment,” which accused Russia of hacking DNC computers. By allowing this fraud to go unchallenged by the intelligence community, the Trump presidency was significantly undermined in his efforts to break with the the anti-Russian geopolitics of Obama, and instead forge a friendly, cooperative relationship with Russia and Putin -- thus leaving Trump captive to the Military Industrial Complex operators served by Pompeo, and unable to end the "endless wars", which had been a central theme of his campaign and his presidency. Further, in the interview with Beck, he did not exactly refute the Yahoo story. He said that while he and Trump were often accused of being engaged in "crazy things", he stated that "we [meaning him and Trump] were very worried about the fact that we had bad actors...stealing very sensitive things," referring to Assange and WikiLeaks. This comment implies that Trump was in the discussion process with Pompeo and his collaborators, something which the authors were unable to confirm. In a later interview with Megyn Kelly, he repeatedly stuck his foot in his mouth. For example, he asserted that the charge that he was drafting a plan to assassinate Assange is false, saying "We're not permitted by U.S. law to conduct assassinations." Investigative journalist Caitlin Johnstone points out, inconveniently for the lying Pompeo, that the Trump administration assassinated Iran's top military commander, Qassem Soleimani, in a drone strike, which he praised. Pompeo said of that assassination, "President Trump and those of us in his national security team are re-establishing deterrence, real deterrence, against the Islamic Republic of Iran." This coheres with a pledge he made in an October 2017 speech at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies -- a neocon think tank whose funders include Sheldon Adelson -- when he said of the CIA under his direction, "We're going to become a much more vicious agency." He also told Kelly that he believes that those who were sources for the Yahoo story "should all be prosecuted for speaking about classified activity inside the Central Intelligence Agency", a threat consistent with his efforts to stamp out freedom of the press in his obsessive desire to silence Assange and Wikileaks. As for his efforts to portray himself as loyal to Trump, he revealed a great deal, when Kelly asked him whether he agreed with Trump that Assange had been treated "very badly." "No," he replied. "Assange treated the U.S. and its people very badly." This release of this story coincides with a turbulent moment in U.S. foreign/strategic policy, following the ending by the Biden administration of the war in Afghanistan, and while negotiations are underway to remove U.S. troops from Iraq and Syria. There is an intense debate underway, with the war hawks -- including Pompeo -- using the chaos resulting from the rapid Taliban takeover to question whether ending the war was a mistake. Typical of Pompeo's history as a liar and a Sophist, he has joined those who said the decision to leave was right -- after all, he was the chief negotiator with the Taliban -- but the execution was flawed, and the U.S. should have left troops in place. It is useful for the purpose of extricating the U.S. from the era of endless wars that this story of Pompeo's murderous outlook has been published. However, in the absence of a plan to work with other nations to provide an economic development perspective for Afghanistan, the desperate humanitarian conditions facing the Afghan people will lead to chaos, playing into the hands of those who are advocates of permanent war. The Yahoo story should serve as the beginning of a full accounting of those who wish to use the potential chaos to defend the geopolitical outlook behind the endless wars. And instead of punishing Assange for his exposure of the war crimes of those protected by Pompeo, charges against him should be dropped, and a full exoneration should be extended to him. Footnotes1.) According to the Oct. 4 issue of the Economist magazine, the mouthpiece for the City of London financial interests, "The Age of Fossil Fuel Abundance is Dead", scarcity will worsen, prices will rise, and there is nothing you can do about it. Really? Resistance to their depopulation policies is growing, as LaRouche's warnings from the early 1970s have proven to be deadly accurate. Thirty-five years ago, on Oct. 6, 1986, the "Get LaRouche" task force raided his home, sending 400 armed personnel to kill him. They failed then, and have been unable to kill his strategic and economic method, which is shaping the resistance to their intent to use artificial shortages to kill billions of people.
As energy hyperinflation is taking off, as a result of both objective and subjective factors, Helga Zepp-LaRouche said that this is what her husband uniquely warned about when the Club of Rome first began pushing its anti-human slogan of "limits to growth" in the late 1960s. Zepp-LaRouche reiterated her view that collaborative efforts among nations, including the U.S., Russia and China, to reconstruct Afghanistan and Haiti, can provide a basis for overcoming this otherwise deadly threat to humanity.
As genocidal Malthusians move ahead with plans to impose a global Green dictatorship at the upcoming COP26 conference in Glasgow, the LaRouche Organization has drafted a plan which presents a human alternative. "The Coming U.S. Economic Miracle on the New Silk Road" demonstrates what scientific and technological optimism, driven by courage and imagination, can accomplish, using as examples the history of infrastructure development in the U.S., and the current miracle of poverty elimination in China. The entire world is reeling from the opening salvo of the hyperinflation programed into the financial system by the Quantitative Easing and other money-printing programs over the past years, directing trillions into the banks and the markets, while almost nothing went towards producing anything in the real economy. That is, unless one considers windmills and solar panels part of the real economy. The so-called “green sector” is booming, including the 100% bubble known as the “carbon markets,” whose only impact other than creating the bubble itself is the intentional collapse of useful production in every part of the globe. This is the future of the world under the dictatorship of the “Green Finance” movement, run by the financial oligarchs and the royal elite of the World Economic Forum, headed by Prince Charles and the former Governor of the Bank of England Mark Carney (more recently the UN’s Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance). Their intention is the same as the intention of the British Empire since its founding in the 18th century—keep the “wogs” down and limit their population, make sure their resources are under the control of the banks in the City of London (and now Wall Street as well), and maintain a military-industrial capacity to enforce imperial rule through endless wars. This Malthusian future was on display in Milan this week, as the “Youth4Climate” held a meeting ahead of COP26, the international climate event in Glasgow in November. Greta Thunberg, the sadly demented child put forth to rant incoherently against human progress, was greeted as a great hero by Prime Ministers Mario Draghi and Boris Johnson, as well as the COP26 President Alok Sharma. As usual, Thunberg expressed a more truthful intention of the Green movement than the bankers who actually run it, who lie that there will be jobs and prosperity in their brave new world. Thunberg, after mocking the slogan used by Joe Biden and Boris Johnson, “Build Back Better,” as “Blah Blah Blah,” said the British were to blame for the catastrophe supposedly facing humanity today because of climate change. Why? Because that’s where the industrial revolution took place! Were we to return to the idyllic age before the nasty industrial revolution, consider that the world population in 1760 was 800 million, while the current population, fueled by increasing energy flux density over these past centuries, is 7.8 billion. That means Greta Thunberg—and Mark Carney and Prince Charles—by going back to windmills and the Sun, are planning to eliminate a cool 7 billion people. But this is not the only vision of the world we need consider. It is useful to reflect on the vision of Gottfried Leibniz, the German scientist, statesman and philosopher, who had the most profound influence on America’s Founding Fathers. Leibniz, in reporting on his correspondence with the Jesuit missionaries in China, wrote in 1697: “I consider it a singular plan of the fates that human cultivation and refinement should today be concentrated, as it were, in the two extremes of our continent, in Europe and in China, which adorns the Orient as Europe does the opposite edge of the Earth. Perhaps Supreme Providence has ordained such an arrangement, so that as the most cultivated and distant peoples stretch out their arms to each other, those in between may gradually be brought to a better way of life. I do not think it an accident that the Russians, whose vast realm connects Europe with China and who hold sway over the deep barbarian lands of the North by the shore of the frozen ocean, should be led to the emulation of our ways through the strenuous efforts of their present ruler [Peter the Great].” Read, and help circulate, the new pamphlet published by The LaRouche Organization, “The Coming U.S. Economic Miracle on the New Silk Road,” and you will see that the vision required to defeat today’s Malthusian masters of the Green New Deal is very much like that of Leibniz—mobilize the U.S., China and Russia to “stretch out their arms to each other,” along with the other 140 countries which have joined China’s Belt and Road Initiative, and the entire world can finally be lifted out of poverty, as China has eliminated abject poverty domestically, through great infrastructure projects, lifting the entire world’s population to a higher platform of technology and productivity. There is no reason that nations like Afghanistan, Haiti, Yemen and far too many others are suffering Dark Age conditions of disease and starvation. Doubling food production, providing modern health platforms for every nation, creating nuclear and fusion power facilities to meet today’s and the future’s vast energy requirements—this is sane. Those who think otherwise are insane, and need to be educated, but kept away from positions of political power and influence.
The report that the U.S. Office of Special Counsel has demanded that the Department of Justice investigate a complaint filed by whistleblowers from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in Haiti, that the DEA had allowed a shipment of heroin and cocaine to pass through “unimpeded” in 2015 and “has been looking the other way, [and] for over a decade Port au Prince has been a safe port to ship heroin and cocaine without interference through Haiti, generally destined for Florida in the United States,” shines a new light on the role of “Dope, Inc.” (as it was called by Executive Intelligence Review in their best-selling series of books by that name) in the destitution of the Island nation of 11 million people. Following the devastating earthquake of Jan. 12, 2010, which killed as many as 250,000 people, virtually nothing was done to restore the massive damage in Haiti, let alone create a modern water and sanitation system or a modern health system. Cholera, largely eliminated in Haiti and elsewhere at that time, spread across the island, killing thousands.Drugs are not produced in Haiti—in fact, there is little significant consumption of drugs, either, as almost no one can afford it. It is only valuable to Dope, Inc. as a transshipment point to the United States. Not so for China. As covered in depth in the Oct. 1, 2021 issue of EIR: “In August of 2017, two Chinese companies—the Southwest Municipal Engineering and Design Research Institute of China (SMEDRIC), and the Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC)—outlined a series of detailed projects valued at $4.7 billion to carry out the rebuilding of the capital [Port-au-Prince] and its environs. In publicizing its proposal and producing a short video on it, the SMEDRIC company indicated that the projects for Haiti’s capital were part of a broader $30 billion proposal for the whole country.” The EIR article provides maps and descriptions of the Chinese plan for transforming the almost non-existent sewage and water system, road and rail development, power systems, and more, to create a modern, humane economy in Haiti. Why did this Haiti extension of China’s Belt and Road Initiative not get implemented? EIR reports: “The Schiller Institute was told at the time that the International Monetary Fund and related Wall Street interests put the squeeze on Haiti to reject them. The State Department and the U.S. government, already nervous that Panama had broken with Taiwan just two months earlier, on June 13 [2017], were not going to tolerate any plan whose acceptance by Haiti would imply its willingness to break with Taiwan.” The Dope, Inc. connections won out against China’s New Silk Road approach. In Afghanistan, a similar showdown is taking place between Dope, Inc. and New Silk Road. In the year preceding the U.S.-NATO invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, UN Under Secretary Pino Arlacchi, executive director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, successfully negotiated with the Taliban government to shut down the opium production, substituting food production with financial and technical help from the UN. The fact is, Arlacchi told anyone listening, that opium production earned less than food production for the farmers, and also for the Taliban government—the money from drugs is centered in the banks which finance the international trade. Thus, when the British forces occupied the prime opium production centers in Kandahar, opium production soared, to well beyond its previous highs, to the point that Afghanistan has produced 80% of the world’s opium during the U.S./NATO occupation, consumed primarily in Russia and Europe. The City of London and Wall Street prospered. It is of note that Antonio Maria Costa, who served in the same capacity at the UN as Arlacchi from 2002-2010, told the press in December 2009, following the collapse of the Western financial system in 2008: “In many instances, the money from drugs was the only liquid investment capital. In the second half of 2008, liquidity was the banking system’s main problem and hence liquid capital became an important factor.” Had the restoration of the opium trade in Afghanistan following the U.S.-NATO invasion not taken place, the wildly speculative Western banking system may well have gone under in 2008. Now, with Afghanistan again under Taliban rule, the acting Taliban government in Kabul has pledged to eliminate the opium trade. Of course, if they continue to be denied access to the nation’s own money—which has been frozen by the U.S. Federal Reserve—and denied foreign investment to restore the destruction wrought by 20 years of U.S.-NATO bombing, then the farmers will have no choice but to continue eking out a living through opium production. But history has created another option, the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative, with 140 nations as partners, offering basic infrastructure development to all countries, as the means for the formerly colonized nations to finally escape from poverty, just as China eliminated abject poverty entirely as of 2020. Every country in the region is offering support to the concept of extending the Belt and Road into Afghanistan. This would include a rail extension of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, through the Khyber Pass west of Peshawar, to Kabul and north to Uzbekistan, offering the Central Asian nations their first connection to the ocean via Gwadar and Karachi in Pakistan and Chabahar in Iran. It would include a crop substitution policy to eliminate opium, as proposed in 2010 from Pino Arlacchi—whom Helga Zepp-LaRouche has recommended become the special representative for the development of Afghanistan. It would include a modern health system, with water and power development to sustain a modern agro-industrial nation. Who could oppose such a new paradigm for a nation which has suffered 40 years of warfare? Only the international financial oligarchy, who, in this moment of financial crisis far more severe than that of 2008—worse even than 1929—require the hot money from their Dope, Inc. enterprise to stay afloat for a bit longer, and to continue deadening the minds of their own populations through the legalization of these poisonous drugs, a process now sweeping the United States and Europe. What is true in Haiti and Afghanistan is equally true globally. The choice facing mankind can be characterized as a showdown between Dope, Inc.—the City of London and Wall Street banks running both the drug trade and the “Green Finance” scam, denying credit to productive industry and agriculture—versus the New Silk Road, now in place as the Belt and Road Initiative. The U.S., in particular, must choose, whether to stay with Dope, Inc., prevent China and its many partners from developing Haiti, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, and the nations of Africa and Ibero-America; or to join the New Silk Road, collaborate with China, Russia, and eventually every nation on Earth, in a new paradigm based on “Peace Through Development.” The program for this new paradigm, creating a world worthy of the dignity of man, has now been published by The LaRouche Organization: “The Coming U.S. Economic Miracle on the New Silk Road.” Read it and help circulate it everywhere.
Join us LIVE on Saturday, Oct 2, at 2pm EDT. The LaRouche Organization will discuss its latest release, “The Coming US Economic Miracle Through the New Silk Road.” Speakers: Jason Ross, Anastasia Battle, Stewart Battle. On September 30, 1935, in his dedication of Boulder Dam, Franklin Roosevelt said: We are here to celebrate the completion of the greatest dam in the world, rising 726 feet above the bedrock of the river and altering the geography of a whole region; we are here to see the creation of the largest artificial lake in the world … holding enough water… to cover the state of Connecticut to a depth of ten feet; and we are here to see … the largest generators and turbines yet installed in this country, machinery that can continuously supply nearly two million horsepower of electric energy. This morning, I came, I saw, and I was conquered as everyone would be who sees for the first time this great feat of mankind… Ten years ago the place where we are gathered was an unpeopled, forbidding desert. In the bottom of a gloomy canyon, whose precipitous walls rose to a height of more than a thousand feet, flowed a turbulent, dangerous river.… The site … was a cactus-covered waste. The transformation wrought here in these years is a twentieth-century marvel. During a May 1963 celebration of the 30th anniversary of Franklin Roosevelt's Tennessee Valley Authority, in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, president John Kennedy said: Thirty years ago today a dream came true. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt—in the presence of TVA's two great defenders, George Norris of Nebraska and Lister Hill of Alabama—signed his name to one of the most unique legislative accomplishments in the history of the United States. That simple ceremony which took only a few minutes ended a struggle which had gone on for a decade. It gave life to a measure which had been vetoed twice by two preceding Presidents—Calvin Coolidge and Herbert Hoover—and in reality this act of signature was only a beginning. There were many who still regarded the undertaking with doubt, some with scorn, some with outright hostility. Some said it couldn't be done. Some said it shouldn't be done. Some said it wouldn't be done. But today, 30 years later, it has been done. They predicted the Government was too inefficient to help electrify the valley. But TVA, by any objective test, is not only the largest but one of the best managed power systems in the United States. China’s Three Gorges Dam, now the largest in the world, was modeled in part on the Tennessee Valley Authority. In a return to that tradition of American progress, from the Erie Canal, to the Trans-Continental Railroad to the TVA and the Apollo Project, The LaRouche Organization will discuss its latest release, “The Coming US Economic Miracle Through the New Silk Road.” Speakers: Jason Ross, Anastasia Battle, Stewart Battle
The latest reports on the emergency situations in Afghanistan and Haiti cry out for support action, and at the same time show that international collaboration on responding to extreme human needs at any one place and time, is what will assure the future for all humanity. This was brought out in the remarks by Schiller Institute President Helga Zepp-LaRouche Sept. 30, at the international conference, “The Road from War To Peace,” held by the U.S.-based Grand National Movement for Afghanistan and the Council of Global Relations, when she participated in the virtual event, along with over 25 American, European and Afghan citizens, to discuss measures necessary to achieve the goal of a peaceful and prosperous future for Afghanistan and the region, after 40 years of warfare. She gave an impassioned call for emergency measures to prevent the looming starvation of millions of Afghans due to the destruction of their economy over the years of war, and due to the refusal of the UN and European Union to meet their moral obligation to save the population from the destruction they had wrought. She called for support for Pino Arlacchi, who, as the Executive Director of the UN Drug Control and Crime Prevention Office, had negotiated with the Taliban in the late 1990s, to end opium production in Afghanistan, to be appointed as the representative to oversee the international backing for the development of that nation now. On Sept. 28, the first major shipment of humanitarian aid arrived in Kabul from China; the material included medicines, blankets and other protective supplies for the winter. Food is urgently needed. More than 75% of the population is not eating enough, tweeted David Beasley, World Food Program Executive Director, yesterday, who said that the WFP survey showed that this many are “borrowing” food, and often going without. Winter is coming; people cannot survive; he called for help. Speaking from Kabul Sept. 30, on a four-day visit, the Asia Pacific Director of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Alexander Matheou gave a detailed account. He said that part of the Red Crescent activity is delivering “emergency relief and recovery assistance to 560,000 people in 16 provinces worst affected by severe drought and displacement.” He called for ramping up all kinds of support, appealing for 36 million Swiss francs, explaining that the IFRC will use the aid for provision of water, more drought-resistant crops for the near term, rescuing livestock, and “supporting income generation for those most at risk of spiralling poverty, including women and the elderly.” With severe food shortages and COVID-19, overall, “Some 18 million Afghans are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.” In Haiti, the situation is desperate. Four UN agencies yesterday appealed to the U.S. to discontinue expelling any more refugees to Haiti. Since Sept. 19, the U.S. has sent some 4,600 Haitian migrants on 43 flights from the U.S.-Mexico border area, back to Haiti. Mexico has sent two planes. At the same time, in the Caribbean, authorities in the Bahamas and Cuba report interdicting Haitians fleeing their homeland, trying to reach Florida. Today, a U.S. apology to Haiti was given by Juan Gonzalez, the U.S. National Security Council Senior Director for the Western Hemisphere, who is in Port-au-Prince for a two-day official visit. Speaking of the treatment of Haitians in Del Rio, Texas, he said, “I want to say that it was an injustice, that it was wrong.” But Del Rio is one instance of a standing policy of enforced poverty and cruelty—often of deliberate inaction—that has reached terrible proportions. As of 2020, there were “281 million international migrants in the world, which equates to 3.6% of the global population,” according to the UN International Migration Organization. What is required in Haiti is massive emergency aid, as military engineers know how to provide, and launching rebuilding as laid out in the newly-issued, “Schiller Institute Plan To Develop Haiti.” In August, the Schiller Institute released overview plans for what is required in Afghanistan. The additional dimension involved, is that moving on these emergencies puts a focus on how to collaborate among nations, to intervene to stop the worldwide chain reactions of economic breakdown now gathering speed in the Trans-Atlantic. Just to identify the most obvious: There are energy shortages resulting from anti-fossil fuel, green madness, plus deregulated energy and commodity markets; there are food shortages, transportation disruptions, a sweeping lack of healthcare and other basic infrastructure, and throughout, the pandemic continues, with threat of new variants and breakouts. None of this needs to continue, if emergency measures are taken—for reorganizing banking, building infrastructure, and advancing science, and more— as laid out fully by Lyndon LaRouche, against just this contingency. Helga Zepp-LaRouche, concluded her prepared statement for the Sept. 30 “Road from War to Peace” on Afghanistan, by drawing out the full implications for a new paradigm for humanity: "The Committee of the Coincidence of Opposites is mobilizing presently to get the U.S. and European nations to join hands with Afghanistan’s neighboring countries to solve both the urgent humanitarian catastrophe as well as the real economic development of Afghanistan and the entire region, which was once called the ‘Land of the Thousand Cities,’ which it can become again. “If we succeed in doing that—and I am asking all of you to help in this effort—then the reconstruction of Afghanistan can become the beginning of a new paradigm in international relations and the beginning of a new era of mankind!”
Today's questions: 1.) What can be done to avoid an economic blowout? What is the Fed doing? What about the budget/debt ceiling debate -- Is there a way to avoid default? 2.) Why do you think Yahoo News ran the story about Pompeo and the CIA plotting to kidnap or kill Julian Assange? 3.) What makes you think we can trust the Taliban enough to contribute to rebuilding Afghanistan?
The LaRouche Organization's just-released pamphlet, “The Coming U.S. Economic Miracle on the New Silk Road,” is an outstanding summary of what can and must be done to reverse America’s induced self-destruction at the hands of British “Intelligence.” Its fourteen distinct sections, including the introduction, can be studied consecutively; such study could be supported by short videos prepared in consultation with its authors. Any individual or group, no matter what age or level of education, that takes the time to work through the pamphlet’s contents over, for example, the next three months, especially in conjunction with campaigning for the Afghanistan/Haiti reconstruction and “world health platform” initiative we are vigorously advocating throughout our international organization, will reverse the collapse of our otherwise-doomed trans-Atlantic culture. To discuss the orientation provided by the report on tonight's Fireside Chat were two members of The LaRouche Organization's board of directors: Chris Sare and Jason Ross.
The discussion in Plato’s drama known as The Republic is of the creation of an ideal society. We are far from such an ideal society today, but one issue that is raised by Socrates in that dialogue is of tremendous relevance today. Even if the members of the dialogue worked out an ideal way of directing society, what would the next generation do? Lyndon LaRouche addresses something similar in his France After De Gaulle, when he points to the impossibility of relying on a benign tyranny as a structure of government: “The … more profound objection to the choice of oligarchical government is that the associated estrangement of the overwhelming majority from responsibility for the shaping of policy causes and perpetuates a corresponding tendency for moral degradation among the subjects of a nation.”He asks: “How do we impart the powers—the qualifications—of citizenship to the adult members of society generally?” Attempt to answer that question after a review of the crises confronting the world, the existing solutions already beckoning, and the greater potentials still to be created. The strategy employed by the financial-military empire centered in London, Wall Street, and Washington to maintain its power and its system is mass-murderous in its intention. The confrontation between oligarchical financial rule and the breakdown of the physical economy on which it feeds will be resolved. But how? Will it be through a Glass-Steagall bankruptcy reorganization guided by a recommitment to the economic principles of the American System, as developed upon by Lyndon LaRouche, for science and technology-driven growth in productivity? Or will it be through geopolitical warfare to prevent the rise and sovereignty of China and Russia, accompanied with a new supranational power structure of supremacy through financial “regime change” and physical economic collapse enforced through the false crisis of “climate change”? Will hyperinflation be allowed to loot populations as “green” ideology prevents development? This is the question that confronts every citizen of the world. With the catastrophic conditions afflicting Haiti, Afghanistan, the millions facing starvation around the world, the victims of cruel geopolitical warfare—fear must be overcome with a greater commitment. The induced immorality of indifference so characteristic of trans-Atlantic nations is the product of decades of social engineering, through culture, through political terror, through an alienation from the decision-making process. By crafting a reconstruction policy for Haiti, the Schiller Institute and EIR present hope for the future and issue a challenge: will you make it happen? With its Coming U.S. Economic Miracle on the New Silk Road, the LaRouche Organization challenges Americans, in particular, with the tension between what the United States has been at its best moments, what it could become in the future, and its current, pathetic condition. The question of self-qualification for leadership is posed to every citizen of the world.
Helga Zepp-LaRouche today issued a stern warning that the Green Reset policies of the bankrupt Western financial Establishment have unleashed a hyperinflationary price explosion, notably in the energy sector, coupled with a breakdown collapse of the global physical economy, including its so-called supply chains. This is careening towards “the end game of this financial system,” she forecast, and as this slams the population of the nations of Europe and the United States, “the big awakening will come.”Zepp-LaRouche laid the blame for this systemic breakdown squarely on the Great Reset’s channeling of all investment and capital flows into a gigantic green speculative bubble, on top of 50 years of Malthusian austerity policies which are responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as for killing 16 million people a year through starvation. Consider some recent developments in this collapse: • The United Kingdom has escalating shortages of gasoline and of food on the shelves of supermarkets, and they are expecting major disruptions in the ability to harvest food crops this fall. The government has mobilized the army to deal with the gasoline crisis, beginning with 150 tanker truck drivers to move oil from depots to gas stations. • Italy will be raising consumer electricity prices across the board by 30% next Monday, Oct. 4. This will cause massive social and economic dislocation, and it is being blamed on global price hikes for coal, natural gas and other energy sources. • U.S. home sale prices jumped by 19.7% in July, the largest monthly increase in 30 years. They’ve been going up for 14 straight months, and the same inflationary pattern applies to rents. • U.S. shortages of all sorts of consumer and producer goods are expected increasingly through the Christmas period. The transportation system cannot move goods quickly, and major ports such as Los Angeles and San Diego have huge backups and delays. • The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) and other industry groups representing 65 million transport workers worldwide today issued a public letter warning of a “global transport system collapse.” • China is facing continuing power cuts and rationing, especially in the northeast of the country. Factories are also affected and many have had to shut down, which is expected to have a big impact on the global supply chain, since China is a major producer for the world market. • The price of natural gas in Europe has quadrupled so far this year, and the international price of oil is following in its wake. Brent crude yesterday traded above $80 a barrel and ended the day at $79.09—near its three-year high. Government spokesmen and financial media are pumping out stories to explain away each of these developments as a string of unrelated events, each with its individual cause: rising energy prices, labor shortages, panic buying, supply chain disruptions, you name it. But the reality is that this is a global pattern which reflects a physical-economic breakdown that is underway, coupled with financial asset hyperinflation of the $1.7 quadrillion speculative bubble. This is a process described uniquely by Lyndon LaRouche’s famous Triple Curve function, a process which is now inexorably playing out on the global stage. Inflation in specific markets (consumer prices, raw materials, etc.) may or may not show up as such in a given period; but it is the overall hyperinflation of financial asset prices which is driving the process—in other words, the “everything bubble,” especially the derivatives bubble. Lyndon LaRouche explained this process in a Sept. 19, 2000 memorandum, “Bring Oil Price Inflation Under Control” (which we reprint in full below), in which he wrote: “Broadly, the current global inflation in petroleum prices threatens to be the detonator of a chaotic breakdown in many, if not all of the economies of the world…. The underlying cause of the crisis, of which the petroleum-price crisis is but the presently leading political-economic consequence, is a general hyperinflation in financial asset-prices, which is now being expressed, at increasing rates, as a hyperinflation in commodity prices now following a trend similar to that suffered by Weimar Germany during the interval March-November 1923…. The increasingly desperate effort to secure inflows of financial assets into the U.S. dollar sector, has seized upon several combined factors, as the opportunity to increase asset-price accumulations from hyperinflationary trends in the delivery prices of petroleum products.” Predictably, the financial Establishment centered in the City of London and Wall Street is in a real conundrum over what to do. On the one hand, they must raise interest rates and “taper” quantitative easing if they wish to contain the inflationary explosion. On the other hand, they can’t raise interest rates and “taper” QE if they want to prevent a total blowout—in fact, they have to unleash ever more extreme forms of monetary and fiscal QE (“financial regime change”) just to live to see another day. The LaRouche movement’s policy to address the crisis is the diametrical opposite of both of these failed Establishment approaches. “The only remedy,” Zepp-LaRouche explained in her weekly webcast, “is a banking separation, a global Glass-Steagall, and to replace this bankrupt system with a new one. That is what we are going to continuously bring into the debate, because this is now really the end game of this financial system.” She went on to draw out what’s at stake in Europe and the United States, and why the Schiller Institute has focused urgent attention on solving the crises in Afghanistan and Haiti, in particular: “There must be a change in attitude! Stop this depraved indifference, the notion that we are trying to get people to reflect upon. Because you have all these people in the West who aren’t even interested. They go about their business as usual. But the only way the U.S. and European nations will overcome their own problems is by focusing on the mission of overcoming the underdevelopment of the developing sector…. You invest in physical economy. You shift from speculation and profit to the idea of the common good, which always has to start with investment in real infrastructure development. “If we cannot get the West to make such a shift, then it is almost a foregone conclusion that the West will go under like the Roman Empire, because of decadence, a depraved state of mind. So we intend to shake people up. “And the way to go is to stop this geopolitical nonsense, which can only end up in the annihilation of the human species, and join hands with the countries of the Belt and Road Initiative, and have joint projects … and move civilization to a condition where the laws of the universe are also the basis of the economic and political policy. That’s why natural law does exist.”
Two stories in the last days provide new insights into the deadly and corrupt practices of operatives of the "Deep State". Yahoo News exposed planning undertaken by then-CIA Director Pompeo to kidnap or assassinate Julain Assange, for the "crime" of exposing the dirty wars run by the military/intelligence/corporate establishment that Pompeo wanted to protect. And two Presidents of regional Federal Reserve branches resigned, when reports were published of their personal trading of financial instruments which were affected by the Fed's Quantitative Easing policy. The defenses offered by Pompeo and Fed chair Powell are unconvincing, as they move to cover-up the bigger crimes they are trying to keep hidden.
Even though there is growing international opposition to the Great Reset and the Green New Deal, globalist anti-growth policies which are part of an arc going back to 1971 are now inflicting massive damage to the physical economy, especially to western "developed" nations. The full range of speculative swindles, funded by global central banks, when combined with "free trade" and Green policies, is generating hyperinflation and unsustainable levels of debt. The election last weekend in Germany will likely bring to power a coalition government which will double down on those policies, along with a commitment to an escalation of geopolitical confrontation with Russia and China.
