The economic gurus who drove the world into the current disaster are filling the pages of the Western media with wild “explanations” for the current rapidly expanding global inflation. For the most part, they have stopped pretending that it is just a temporary phenomenon, that things will soon return to “normal”—Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Raphael Bostic said this week that the inflation will continue and could increase, and that after weeks of loose talk of “transitory” inflation, now, “Transitory is a dirty word.” Even Larry Summers, the former chief economist at the World Bank and the former Treasury Secretary who oversaw the take down of Glass-Steagall in the 1990s, said this week, “we’re in more danger than we have been during my career of losing control of inflation in the U.S.”But what do these “quackademics” (a term coined by Lyndon LaRouche in 1996) say is the cause of the emerging hyperinflation? They all, without exception, name one or another of the categories which have served them in analyzing the current economic system. The fact that their policies have been such utter failures, and that their predictions of things to come have been universally wrong, is precisely due to the fact that they can not think outside of those systemic categories, when the actual problem lies in the failure of the system itself. Listen to the wise words of Lyndon LaRouche, a full 20 years ago, Oct. 22, 2001, on the art of economic forecasting: “The reason that I’ve been so successful in forecasting … is because I think systemically, as I’ve identified that, repeatedly, rather than the way that people have been miseducated to think in school and so forth and so on. And therefore, I understand how a systemic collapse unfolds, as opposed to a stock-market prediction, which is what every idiot likes to talk about. Idiots say: ‘Why don’t you make a prediction? A statistical prediction.’ I say, I don’t make predictions. I make forecasts, which are based on the systemic characteristics and the boundary conditions within which the system operates. That’s why I have always been right, and every one of my critics—whether inside the organization or outside—has always been wrong! “So, the question is, since the problem is a systemic one, how do you organize, under conditions of systemic crisis? In other words, not how to nail the window back on the house, but, how do you build a house, when the house you’re living in is uninhabitable, and can’t be repaired…. “So you have a situation globally, in the United States and outside, in which the total amount of debt service being extracted from the economies is increasing cancerously, and the debt service payment requirement accordingly. This is collapsing the actual productive power of nations and their populations, precisely at the time that the amount of debt to be paid is increasing. So, there’s no possible way that the present international monetary, financial system could be continued without collapsing civilization into a generalized and prolonged New Dark Age, out of which most nations will disappear, and the human population will drop rapidly during the course of this century to below 1 billion. And the first drop down will tend to be a big one. With only days until thousands of people are scheduled to descend on Glasgow, Scotland, for the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26, a sense of panic has set in among the British Royals that this well-planned conclave, in which the world was supposed to sign on to a self-inflicted suicide pact for the human race, is facing a potential massive failure. Prince Charles, who, together with the bankers in the City of London, has been the driving force of the Climate Change conferences since the 1990s, complained bitterly to the BBC this week that many countries “just talk, and the problem is to get action on the ground, which I’ve been trying to do for forty years.” His son Prince William, being groomed by Charles to take his place as the chief green genocide merchant, told BBC that we should stop wasting time and money on space travel, rather: “We need some of the world’s greatest brains and minds fixed on trying to repair this planet, not trying to find the next place to go and live.” William will be introducing his “Earthshot Prize,” described as “a Nobel-like prize for the environment,” to five recipients at COP26.And now the Queen has weighed in, allowing herself to be picked up on a microphone saying: “I’ve been hearing about COP. We still don’t know who is coming, no idea. We only know about people who are not coming, and it’s really irritating when they ‘talk,’ but they don’t ‘do.’” Indeed, President Xi Jinping let it be known that he will not be travelling to Glasgow, as did Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison—Australia is the world’s leading producer of coal, while China is the leading consumer of coal. The Green fascists were set on ending the use of coal altogether. But it’s not only that the many leaders are not attending. Indeed, the emergence of massive inflation over the past months, verging on a hyperinflationary destruction of the world economy, has been a rude awakening to the fact that the green fascist effort to replace fossil fuels with unreliable wind turbines and solar panels is blowing up the world economy. Addressing this, the Schiller Institute and the CLINTEL group of international scientists issued a joint statement this week titled: “A Wake-Up Call: The Danger For Mankind Is Not the Climate, But Toleration of a Devious Policy That Uses Climate To Destroy Us.” China, for instance, dealt a huge blow to the Green New Deal fanatics this week when Premier Li Keqiang, following a meeting of the National Energy Commission to address the shortages of coal, issued a statement which included: “Given the predominant place of coal in the country’s energy and resource endowment, it is important to optimize the layout for the coal production capacity, build advanced coal-fired power plants as appropriate in line with development needs, and continue to phase out outdated coal plants in an orderly fashion. Domestic oil and gas exploration will be intensified.” India, meanwhile, which generates 70% of its energy from coal-fired stations, is not about to cut coal production, but the opposite. Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade today announced a plan to double the amount of coal-fired electricity generation by the year 2030. Similar responses to the massive energy inflation driven by the Great Reset are showing up internationally. Even the monetarists, the “Economic Royals,” who undermined the Bretton Woods system, unleashing the wild speculation which brought the world to the current crisis, are suddenly screaming that the Green New Deal is behind the threat of hyperinflation. Larry Summers, who was the Treasury Secretary in the 1990s when Glass-Steagall was rescinded, among his other crimes, is now whining that “we’re in more danger than we’ve been during my career of losing control of inflation in the U.S.” He correctly points to the Central Bankers, who are “defining themselves by their wokeness, by how socially concerned they are.” While he doesn’t name it, it is well known that the Green New Deal is being run by the central bankers perverse agreement to cut credit to fossil fuels, industry and agriculture, while creating a new “green bubble” to prop up the banking system, under the lie that carbon drives climate change. This was set in place by the “Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System” established in 2017 under the direction of the former head of the Bank of England, Mark Carney, with help from the French and Dutch Central Bank chiefs. Of course, Summers offers no alternative In addition to their fear that their financial system is crashing, the Royals, both in London and on Wall Street, also recognize that if the rest of the world does not go along with their “climate change” fraud, and turn instead to the alternative being offered by China through the Belt and Road Initiative, then the Empire will not survive. The New Silk Road, initiated by Lyndon and Helga LaRouche following the collapse of the Soviet Union, and implemented by China’s Xi Jinping as the Belt and Road Initiative in 2013, is now fully supported by Russia and 140 other nations as a means of escaping from poverty in the same way that China did—by massive infrastructure development, especially energy dense fossil fuels and nuclear power. The world is teetering on the brink of financial chaos and global thermonuclear war, while the U.S. and Western Europe are descending into a drug-infested, culturally perverse Hell. It would be possible to report on a number of diplomatic steps underway by the Biden Administration, and conclude that there is an American shift toward negotiating peace and development. But then, it were equally possible to report on an equally significant number of steps being taken by the same Administration which would lead to the opposite conclusion—that preparations for war are underway, and close to a point of no return.One need only recall that the decision to end the fruitless and bloody “endless war” in Afghanistan—a move towards sanity—was followed by the British imperial move to unite the U.S., UK and Australia in a military pact, a step towards an “Asian NATO” to prepare for war on China. On Oct. 5, the U.S. Secretary of the Navy Carlos del Toro released a “strategic guidance” which declared China to be the greatest single danger to the U.S. The “central governing concept, the top priority,” he says, is to “expand our war-fighting advantages vis-á-vis the People’s Republic of China” by “expanding our global posture” to surround and threaten both China and Russia. China’s response to the provocation—especially to the Wall Street Journal claim that the U.S. has military personnel on the ground in Taiwan training the Taiwan military—is equally stark, making clear in a Global Times editorial that if this is true, it will be considered an “invasion” of China’s sovereign territory, and that the U.S. forces would be the first to be eliminated if it comes to war. And in regard to Russia, the contradictions within U.S. policy are equally absurd, as the Biden Administration asserts the need to improve our diplomatic cooperation with Moscow, followed immediately by NATO’s expulsion of 8 of the 18 Russian representatives to NATO. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov concluded: “NATO is not an instrument of cooperation, not an instrument for interaction; it is a bloc that overall is anti-Russian in nature,” making it impossible to resume dialogue. And yet, as you will see below, the administration today restored dialogue with the Taliban in Doha, including a representative from the Agency for International Development, giving some hope that the U.S. will end the sanctions and withholding of Afghan funds which are responsible for the near starvation of millions of innocents. The administration also held a round of trade talks this morning with China, described by both sides as “candid, pragmatic and constructive.” Behind the contradictory measures in foreign policy is the growing recognition that the global economy has entered into a general breakdown crisis. This is not simply a matter of speculators doing what they always do when released from regulation—rather, the system itself is disintegrating. Supply chains are broken, leading to factories being shut down and empty shelves, while energy production by efficient fossil fuels and nuclear power has been replaced with inefficient and intermittent sources more appropriate to the 17th century when there were less than 1 billion souls in the world. Indeed, this Malthusian depopulation is the intent. Reactions are coming in from around the world to the release by EIR Daily Alert Service exposing the words of Klaus Schwab, the head of the international banking conclave known as the World Economic Forum which is at the center of the “Great Reset” and the “Green New Deal.” Schwab states in his book Stakeholder Capitalism that development in Africa and elsewhere must be stopped at once, since “the same force that helps people escape from poverty and lead a decent life is the one that is destroying the livability of our planet.” While there is a growing backlash against this evil, which could—and must—cause the failure of the genocidal intentions of the COP26 climate conference next month in Glasgow, nonetheless, the thousands of scientists who know that carbon has no measurable impact on the climate must be heard, and this Malthusian climate hoax—fascism with a Green face—stopped in its tracks. The fact that the architects of this genocidal attack on the human race are increasingly frightened that they are being exposed was further demonstrated this week when they instructed their “Thought Police” at Google and YouTube to ban any advertising which challenges the fake climate change dogma. As in the bloody French Revolution, when the great French scientist Antoine Lavoisier was guillotined under the cry, “The revolution has no need of science,” those leading scientists telling the truth about carbon today are blacked out and ridiculed as “climate deniers.” There is a campaign to declare “ecocide” a crime, equivalent to homicide against human beings. The entire world is reeling from the opening salvo of the hyperinflation programed into the financial system by the Quantitative Easing and other money-printing programs over the past years, directing trillions into the banks and the markets, while almost nothing went towards producing anything in the real economy. That is, unless one considers windmills and solar panels part of the real economy. The so-called “green sector” is booming, including the 100% bubble known as the “carbon markets,” whose only impact other than creating the bubble itself is the intentional collapse of useful production in every part of the globe.This is the future of the world under the dictatorship of the “Green Finance” movement, run by the financial oligarchs and the royal elite of the World Economic Forum, headed by Prince Charles and the former Governor of the Bank of England Mark Carney (more recently the UN’s Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance). Their intention is the same as the intention of the British Empire since its founding in the 18th century—keep the “wogs” down and limit their population, make sure their resources are under the control of the banks in the City of London (and now Wall Street as well), and maintain a military-industrial capacity to enforce imperial rule through endless wars. This Malthusian future was on display in Milan this week, as the “Youth4Climate” held a meeting ahead of COP26, the international climate event in Glasgow in November. Greta Thunberg, the sadly demented child put forth to rant incoherently against human progress, was greeted as a great hero by Prime Ministers Mario Draghi and Boris Johnson, as well as the COP26 President Alok Sharma. As usual, Thunberg expressed a more truthful intention of the Green movement than the bankers who actually run it, who lie that there will be jobs and prosperity in their brave new world. Thunberg, after mocking the slogan used by Joe Biden and Boris Johnson, “Build Back Better,” as “Blah Blah Blah,” said the British were to blame for the catastrophe supposedly facing humanity today because of climate change. Why? Because that’s where the industrial revolution took place! Were we to return to the idyllic age before the nasty industrial revolution, consider that the world population in 1760 was 800 million, while the current population, fueled by increasing energy flux density over these past centuries, is 7.8 billion. That means Greta Thunberg—and Mark Carney and Prince Charles—by going back to windmills and the Sun, are planning to eliminate a cool 7 billion people. But this is not the only vision of the world we need consider. It is useful to reflect on the vision of Gottfried Leibniz, the German scientist, statesman and philosopher, who had the most profound influence on America’s Founding Fathers. Leibniz, in reporting on his correspondence with the Jesuit missionaries in China, wrote in 1697: “I consider it a singular plan of the fates that human cultivation and refinement should today be concentrated, as it were, in the two extremes of our continent, in Europe and in China, which adorns the Orient as Europe does the opposite edge of the Earth. Perhaps Supreme Providence has ordained such an arrangement, so that as the most cultivated and distant peoples stretch out their arms to each other, those in between may gradually be brought to a better way of life. I do not think it an accident that the Russians, whose vast realm connects Europe with China and who hold sway over the deep barbarian lands of the North by the shore of the frozen ocean, should be led to the emulation of our ways through the strenuous efforts of their present ruler [Peter the Great].” Read, and help circulate, the new pamphlet published by The LaRouche Organization, “The Coming U.S. Economic Miracle on the New Silk Road,” and you will see that the vision required to defeat today’s Malthusian masters of the Green New Deal is very much like that of Leibniz—mobilize the U.S., China and Russia to “stretch out their arms to each other,” along with the other 140 countries which have joined China’s Belt and Road Initiative, and the entire world can finally be lifted out of poverty, as China has eliminated abject poverty domestically, through great infrastructure projects, lifting the entire world’s population to a higher platform of technology and productivity. The report that the U.S. Office of Special Counsel has demanded that the Department of Justice investigate a complaint filed by whistleblowers from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in Haiti, that the DEA had allowed a shipment of heroin and cocaine to pass through “unimpeded” in 2015 and “has been looking the other way, [and] for over a decade Port au Prince has been a safe port to ship heroin and cocaine without interference through Haiti, generally destined for Florida in the United States,” shines a new light on the role of “Dope, Inc.” (as it was called by Executive Intelligence Review in their best-selling series of books by that name) in the destitution of the Island nation of 11 million people. Following the devastating earthquake of Jan. 12, 2010, which killed as many as 250,000 people, virtually nothing was done to restore the massive damage in Haiti, let alone create a modern water and sanitation system or a modern health system. Cholera, largely eliminated in Haiti and elsewhere at that time, spread across the island, killing thousands.Drugs are not produced in Haiti—in fact, there is little significant consumption of drugs, either, as almost no one can afford it. It is only valuable to Dope, Inc. as a transshipment point to the United States. Not so for China. As covered in depth in the Oct. 1, 2021 issue of EIR: “In August of 2017, two Chinese companies—the Southwest Municipal Engineering and Design Research Institute of China (SMEDRIC), and the Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC)—outlined a series of detailed projects valued at $4.7 billion to carry out the rebuilding of the capital [Port-au-Prince] and its environs. In publicizing its proposal and producing a short video on it, the SMEDRIC company indicated that the projects for Haiti’s capital were part of a broader $30 billion proposal for the whole country.” The EIR article provides maps and descriptions of the Chinese plan for transforming the almost non-existent sewage and water system, road and rail development, power systems, and more, to create a modern, humane economy in Haiti. Why did this Haiti extension of China’s Belt and Road Initiative not get implemented? EIR reports: “The Schiller Institute was told at the time that the International Monetary Fund and related Wall Street interests put the squeeze on Haiti to reject them. The State Department and the U.S. government, already nervous that Panama had broken with Taiwan just two months earlier, on June 13 [2017], were not going to tolerate any plan whose acceptance by Haiti would imply its willingness to break with Taiwan.” The Dope, Inc. connections won out against China’s New Silk Road approach. In Afghanistan, a similar showdown is taking place between Dope, Inc. and New Silk Road. In the year preceding the U.S.-NATO invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, UN Under Secretary Pino Arlacchi, executive director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, successfully negotiated with the Taliban government to shut down the opium production, substituting food production with financial and technical help from the UN. The fact is, Arlacchi told anyone listening, that opium production earned less than food production for the farmers, and also for the Taliban government—the money from drugs is centered in the banks which finance the international trade. Thus, when the British forces occupied the prime opium production centers in Kandahar, opium production soared, to well beyond its previous highs, to the point that Afghanistan has produced 80% of the world’s opium during the U.S./NATO occupation, consumed primarily in Russia and Europe. The City of London and Wall Street prospered. It is of note that Antonio Maria Costa, who served in the same capacity at the UN as Arlacchi from 2002-2010, told the press in December 2009, following the collapse of the Western financial system in 2008: “In many instances, the money from drugs was the only liquid investment capital. In the second half of 2008, liquidity was the banking system’s main problem and hence liquid capital became an important factor.” Had the restoration of the opium trade in Afghanistan following the U.S.-NATO invasion not taken place, the wildly speculative Western banking system may well have gone under in 2008. Now, with Afghanistan again under Taliban rule, the acting Taliban government in Kabul has pledged to eliminate the opium trade. Of course, if they continue to be denied access to the nation’s own money—which has been frozen by the U.S. Federal Reserve—and denied foreign investment to restore the destruction wrought by 20 years of U.S.-NATO bombing, then the farmers will have no choice but to continue eking out a living through opium production. But history has created another option, the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative, with 140 nations as partners, offering basic infrastructure development to all countries, as the means for the formerly colonized nations to finally escape from poverty, just as China eliminated abject poverty entirely as of 2020. Every country in the region is offering support to the concept of extending the Belt and Road into Afghanistan. This would include a rail extension of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, through the Khyber Pass west of Peshawar, to Kabul and north to Uzbekistan, offering the Central Asian nations their first connection to the ocean via Gwadar and Karachi in Pakistan and Chabahar in Iran. It would include a crop substitution policy to eliminate opium, as proposed in 2010 from Pino Arlacchi—whom Helga Zepp-LaRouche has recommended become the special representative for the development of Afghanistan. It would include a modern health system, with water and power development to sustain a modern agro-industrial nation. Who could oppose such a new paradigm for a nation which has suffered 40 years of warfare? Only the international financial oligarchy, who, in this moment of financial crisis far more severe than that of 2008—worse even than 1929—require the hot money from their Dope, Inc. enterprise to stay afloat for a bit longer, and to continue deadening the minds of their own populations through the legalization of these poisonous drugs, a process now sweeping the United States and Europe. What is true in Haiti and Afghanistan is equally true globally. The choice facing mankind can be characterized as a showdown between Dope, Inc.—the City of London and Wall Street banks running both the drug trade and the “Green Finance” scam, denying credit to productive industry and agriculture—versus the New Silk Road, now in place as the Belt and Road Initiative. A brief survey of the world today can but make any person of conscience weep—and commit to fight: With scenes of Black men being rounded up on the southern U.S. border, herded into vehicles with hands and legs shackled, and transported abroad without being told their destination, the US Special Envoy to Haiti Daniel Foote today resigned, saying in a statement: “I will not be associated with the United States’ inhumane, counterproductive decision to deport thousands of Haitian refugees and illegal immigrants to Haiti, a country where American officials are confined to secure compounds because of the danger posed by armed gangs in control of daily life. [Haiti] simply cannot support the forced infusion of thousands of returned migrants lacking food, shelter, and money without additional, avoidable human tragedy. Surging migrants to our borders will only grow as we add to Haiti’s unacceptable misery.”In Lebanon, the national power company announced that it was down to its last remaining stocks, that it can generate less than 500 megawatts of electricity with oil secured from Iraq. The notice read: “The network already experienced total blackouts across the country seven times and if this continues there is a high risk of reaching total and complete blackout by end September.” In Syria, Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad told the press: “The sanctions imposed by the United States are suffocating the Syrian people. The level of poverty has increased, the lack of medicine has increased. Remarkably, we don’t find even the main medicine to treat people who are suffering from cancer, from other diseases, even the coronavirus.” In Yemen, David Beasley, the head of the World Food Program, warned that “16 million Yemenis are marching toward starvation,” and rations will be further cut in October if emergency aid is not forthcoming. “We need the war to end, number one,” he said, “and if donors are getting fatigued, well, end the war! They don’t have any money left over to buy anything. It is a heartbreak, it really is.” In Afghanistan, as the US Treasury refuses to release $8 billion belonging to the Afghani people, for claimed “humanitarian” reasons, Beasley has warned that 28 million people out of the 37 million population are facing starvation in a nation devastated by 20 years of NATO occupation and war. Across Europe, due to the Green fanatics shutting down nuclear, coal and gas powered facilities, gas and electricity prices have increased catastrophically, such that nearly three million working families cannot even afford to heat their homes. The madness is not hidden. Everywhere outside of Asia, both in poor nations and in industrialized ones, it is impossible not to recognize that we are increasingly living in a dark age, where children are told they can take mind-destroying drugs and change their sex if it suits their manipulated fancy, but are denied any sense of a future as a productive and happy human being. Economies are being crushed by the fake science peddled as anthropogenic climate change and by an emerging hyperinflationary explosion in the western financial system, as well as the failure to contain the coronavirus. Despite the wisdom of ending the “endless war” in Afghanistan, new wars against superpowers Russia and China are openly being planned by the Anglo-American military-industrial complex and their Wall Street and City of London financiers. Classical beauty has been discarded in favor of glorified ugliness. And yet, the Schiller Institute and the LaRouche Organization see this as a moment of optimism, in which, as the English poet Percy Shelly said in his A Defence of Poetry, the extreme danger forces people to drop their indifference to the rest of humanity, and become more capable of comprehending “intense and impassioned conceptions respecting man and nature.” This is a revolutionary moment. Whether the human race will descend into Armageddon or create a new global Renaissance depends on how you choose to act at this pregnant moment of history.

The level of panic, and outright horror, being expressed by leading spokesmen for the British Empire, is unprecedented in modern times. Perhaps a review of the British press in October 1781, following Cornwallis’s surrender at Yorktown, would find a similar public gnashing of teeth. Perhaps also in April 1865, when the Empire’s Confederate Army under Robert E. Lee surrendered to Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, ending the Empire’s last great hope for the military destruction of the Union. Since then, the Empire has depended on subversion rather than military power. In the Great War, the British succeeded in dragging the racist, Anglophile Woodrow Wilson into saving them at the last moment, while in World War II Franklin Roosevelt joined the war only because the Frankenstein monster the City of London had created in Germany was an even greater danger—and he forced the British to accept an alliance with the Soviet Union and China, without which the war would possibly have been lost.Unfortunately, after the death of Roosevelt, and Harry Truman’s capitulation to the Empire and help to the European imperial powers in retaking their colonies, and especially after the successful assassination of Jack Kennedy, the City of London has systematically replaced the Hamiltonian American System of directed credit with the British System of free markets and deregulation of banking and industry, while also flooding the U.S. with their drugs and their Malthusian “environmentalist” delusions. Despite Lyndon LaRouche’s clear explication of this subversion, and his presentation of the steps necessary to return to the American System, his ideas were suppressed and he was slandered and persecuted, while America became the dumb giant to the British financial oligarchy, waging wars on behalf of the Empire in Indochina, Central Europe, and Southwest Asia. When Donald Trump appeared out of nowhere (or so the Empire’s minions believed), threatening to end the endless wars, be friends with Russia and China, reject the fake science of anthropogenic climate change, and rebuild American industry and infrastructure, the British control of the U.S. media, the intelligence community, and Wall Street left Trump impotent to do anything but fight the coup attempt led by MI6 and GCHQ. In the end, none of his promises were realized, and the Empire heaved a huge sigh of relief. But look what has happened now! The aging, stumbling Joe Biden has done what Donald Trump failed to do—end the endless war in Afghanistan, without listening to or even consulting John Bull. Biden acted on the basis of what Tony Blair called the “imbecilic political slogan about ending ‘the forever wars,’” And, horror of horrors, the Empire is suddenly seeing the ghost of FDR drifting overhead, threatening to bring the World War II cooperation between the U.S., China, and Russia together again, to address their common aim to develop Afghanistan, to end the miserable backward conditions which foster terorism and drug production, and extend the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor into Afghanistan as part of the New Silk Road. See below for the hysteria coming from the British today. Biden is not promoting this himself, at least not publicly, although representatives of his government have participated in international forums where these issues were put forward. But even the Empire senses that decisions in the U.S. are not always made by the President alone, but by what Lyndon LaRouche called the “institution of the presidency.” Just as that institution during the Trump Administration was dominated by the military-industrial complex and their Wall Street allies, so today the Afghanistan decision, and Biden’s capacity to stand up against the almost universal denunciation from the Congress, the media, and the military-industrial crowd, demonstrates a powerful resistance from the current institution of the presidency. As demonstrated in the last year-and-a-half of Schiller Institute conferences, leading scientists, political leaders, policy experts, retired military, health professionals, farmers, and more, from all over the world, including from Russia and China, have engaged in dialogue at the highest level on the urgent need for a new paradigm based on global “peace through development.” The Empire is not omnipotent. In fact, it is decadent and dying. It is capable of provoking chaos, even a nuclear war, but only if the people fail to live up to what Friedrich Schiller posed as the responsibility of all human beings to be “patriots of one’s nation and citizens of the world.” This is our moment.

Edgar Allen Poe’s short story, “A Descent into the Maelstrom,” a scientific investigation of the changes in geometric relations which take place during a phase change in nature, and the role of human cognition in recognizing and investigating those changes, provides the necessary guide to reflecting on the historic phase change taking place in the world today. Poe’s characters are two brothers whose ship is caught in a great whirlpool off the Norwegian coast. As the ship is pulled ever downward towards destruction, one brother recognizes the changed geometry which exists within this vortex, different from existed in the previous space, and creatively discovers the laws of this new paradigm, saving himself, while his brother, terrified, his mind in a haze, clings to the old paradigm and plunges to his death.The world will never return to the era from which we are now departing, into a new geometry. This is true of the pandemic, ending the era of privatized health care and the deprivation of health care for the poor nations of the world; it is true of the global financial system, horribly bankrupt for decades already and now racing into a hyper-inflationary or deflationary bust, a system which can not be saved; it is true of the era of endless wars unleashed by Tony Blair’s 1999 declaration of the end of national sovereignty, unleashing the Anglo-American“ regime change” wars; and, finally, the end of the delusion of the U.S. as the “unipolar superpower” and the “end of history.” Do not imagine that this means a better world will automatically result. The world could proceed as did the seaman’s frightened brother, clinging to delusions of the dying Empire, willing to submit to economic decay, war, pestilence and famine rather than reject the false axioms, to discover the new principles required to not only survive, but to build a more perfect world. The end of the 20-year disaster in Afghanistan provides the crucial test: Will the US break from the British Empire, and act on its actual self-interest, to see Afghanistan transformed from a maelstrom of terrorism, drugs, and perpetual war into a hub for regional and continent-wide development, restoring its ancient role as the “land of a thousand cities,” the crossroad of eastern and western civilization? The British Empire, like the dinosaurs, deserves nothing better than to become extinct. Tony Blair and other spokesmen for the Empire are bellowing their rage, like Shelly’s Ozymandius, that the United States has failed to obey their dictates—or as Blair so revealingly put it, that the Biden Administration has followed the "imbecilic political slogan about ending ‘the forever wars."’ Ending such wars will, indeed, as Blair fears, mean the end of Empire. Perhaps the bloody ISIS terrorist bombs today in Kabul were aimed at stopping Biden from sticking to the Aug. 31 deadline for getting out, as the British and their assets in the US have demanded. Is it coincidence, or are the British still deploying terrorists to achieve their ends? This is the moment of truth for civilization. Lyndon LaRouche’s concept of the “Four Powers” required as a minimum force to end the Empire, is now before us. The four great cultures of Eurasia—China, Russia, India, and the United States (as the distilled representative of European culture)—can unite at this pregnant moment to make Afghanistan a model for ending the disintegration of nations around the world, suffering from the decades, or even centuries, of deprivation, poverty, and colonial slavery. From this, a new Bretton Woods financial system can be molded by the same Four Powers, and the grateful nations around the world which would join in the deliberations. From this, the replacement of the failed monetary system can be replaced with a Hamiltonian credit system to fuel the recovery of the collapsing western economies, driven by the export of the capital goods demanded everywhere to lift every nation out of poverty, becoming modern industrial nations. China’s Belt and Road Initiative has demonstrated the efficacy of such an approach. This is not just the moral thing to do; without it, disintegration and nuclear war are virtually inevitable. Mankind has faced such moments of peril in the past. In some, the failure to act led to descending into dark ages and depopulation. In some, people of vision and creativity led in forging a new Renaissance—Nicholas of Cusa in 15th-Century Europe; Zhu Xi in 12th-Century China, Harun al-Rashid in the 8th-Century Golden Age of the Abbasid Caliphate, and the Gupta Golden Age of the 4th and 5th Centuries. The Confucian Renaissance taking place now in China gives hope for the future, but in the age of supersonic transport and the colonization of space, any true renaissance must be truly universal. This is precisely the message of Lyndon and Helga LaRouche over the past half-century, one which can and must be achieved—or as Helga Zepp-LaRouche often states, an era in which “we all can leave the age of immature adolescence behind us, and enter an era of adulthood, in which we concentrate on the common aims of mankind.”

China’s international news agency, China Global Television Network (CGTN), produced a six minute video of excerpts from the keynote speech by Helga Zepp-LaRouche at the July 31 Schiller Institute Conference, “Afghanistan: A Turning Point in History After the Failed Regime-Change Era.” The CGTN video is titled: “Afghanistan: The Bright Future for the Coming Cooperation of the Great Powers.” It is certain that leading circles within the U.S., including within the Biden Administration, are watching closely as prominent figures from Russia and China speak at Schiller Institute conferences, and present LaRouche’s ideas in their media and institutional websites.They are watching, and some are listening and learning. Others are chewing the rug, and working with the U.K. to prevent what they see as the greatest danger to their Empire—the United States coming together with Russia and China to address the world’s existential crisis in all its facets—the danger of nuclear war; the pandemic; famine in multiple locations; the cultural decay across the Western world; and the financial bubble threatening to either explode or break out in an even more destructive hyperinflation. The ending of the 20-year war in Afghanistan, then, is not a disaster, as portrayed in the Western press. It is an opportunity for a great change in the course of human history. Mrs. LaRouche says in the video: “It should be obvious, even to the most incurable warmongers on the planet, that in Afghanistan, no military solution can succeed. In that sense, there must be a recognition that all such endless wars, like in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and so forth, belong to a paradigm of geopolitical thinking that has utterly failed. That means that the geopolitics of the British Empire, of the ‘Great Game,’ of the Arc of Crisis of Bernard Lewis and Zbigniew Brzezinski—must be outlawed forever. And there should be an agreement among all neighbors of Afghanistan that geopolitical manipulation must be ended and replaced by the application of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.” Zepp-LaRouche also points to the fact that even Secretary of State Tony Blinken, who generally sounds as mad as Mike Pompeo on all things Chinese, “during his recent trip to India stated that the U.S. government sees a positive role for China in the economic development of Afghanistan.” She pointed to the statement by the Afghan Ambassador to China, “who recently said that Afghanistan is the one place where the United States and China can actually cooperate, since they have common interests such as the suppression of terrorism and the elimination of opium production.” Zepp-LaRouche concludes: “In this sense, Afghanistan is at a crossroad. Not only for Eurasian integration, but also at a crossroad for universal history where we all can leave the age of immature adolescence behind us, and enter an era of adulthood, in which we concentrate on the common aims of mankind.” Recall that Biden held a high profile summit with President Putin, and spoke for hours on the phone with President Xi Jinping. Recall also the Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman held extensive discussion with Foreign Minister Wang Yi and the Deputy Minister responsible for U.S.-China Relations, then chaired a major summit with top military and diplomatic leaders from Russia and the U.S. Afghanistan was a leading item on the agenda at both meetings.These leaders are abundantly aware that the ideas expressed by Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche, and the wealth of ideas in the voluminous writings of Lyndon LaRouche which have been translated into Chinese and Russian, are ideas taken extremely seriously in Moscow and Beijing, as they are increasingly around the world. What direction will the U.S. take at this turning point in human history? Can the human race survive the crisis now threatening mankind itself? Will we as a race continue the descent into global nuclear war, an out of control pandemic, a hyperinflationary destruction of the means of survival, a cultural collapse into a new Dark Age? Helga Zepp-LaRouche was joined by leaders from around the world—political leaders, economists, musicians, scientists, and youth, from Russia, China, Slovakia, Germany, France, Austria, Argentina, Philippines, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, Peru, Colombia and Ukraine, for a dialogue on “LaRouche’s Discovery” and on “Earth’s Next Fifty Years,” under the theme: “So, Are You Finally Willing To Learn Economics?” The LaRouche Legacy Foundation is in the process of publishing LaRouche’s Complete Works, of which Volume 1 is now available. It was fifty years ago, on Aug. 15, 1971, that Lyndon LaRouche became quite famous, but also became the target of what former Attorney General Ramsey Clark described as “a complex and pervasive utilization of law enforcement, prosecution, media, and non-governmental organizations focussed on destroying an enemy…. The purpose can only be seen as destroying—more than a political movement, more than a political figure—it is those two; but it’s a fertile engine of ideas, a common purpose of thinking and studying and analyzing to solve problems, regardless of the impact on the status quo, or on vested interests. It was a deliberate purpose to destroy that at any cost.” On this day in 1971, President Richard Nixon scrapped the Bretton Woods system, which had sustained world development in the post-World War II era, by decoupling the U.S. dollar from its peg to gold, allowing all the world’s currencies to float, to become the subject of speculation, and for the British system of “free markets” and deregulation to replace the Hamiltonian American System, which is based on the concept of directed credit to enhance the general welfare and lift the productivity of labor. EIR Economics Editor Paul Gallagher explained to the thousands of participants in the conference from around the world (with simultaneous translation in Spanish, French, German and Russian), that the Bretton Woods which was adopted after Franklin Roosevelt’s death was not the system intended by FDR. Rather, Roosevelt had insisted that after the war, the former European colonies must be granted full independence, and that American System production of the capital goods needed to industrialize the entire world would drive U.S. production while also ending the colonial era for good. But Harry Truman, whom LaRouche denounced as a little man serving Wall Street, helped the Europeans to restore their colonies, while the U.S. was turned inward. The subsequent focus on internal consumerism through debt, rather than capital exports, LaRouche forecast—uniquely among all economists—would cause recessions and the collapse of Bretton Woods. This was but the first of LaRouche’s forecasts, all of which were proven to be fully prescient. A video of LaRouche speaking in 2001 described his many forecasts, emphasizing that he “was standing alone” among economists who were trapped in British monetarist ideology, thinking of money, not the physical transformation of nature, or the condition of the human race. Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s keynote speech provided a powerful insight into her husband Lyndon LaRouche’s capacity to inspire people from all different layers of society, from heads of state to Peruvian fishermen and Italian shoemakers, to grasp a different way of thinking,—that one cannot separate politics, science, and culture, and that all aspects of life fall under the centrality of creativity as the difference between man and beast, driving the science of physical economy as the true science of human progress. She later noted that anyone who met LaRouche would experience an awakening of their own powers of reason, through the creativity of LaRouche’s mind engaging them. Zepp-LaRouche traced her husband’s debt to Plato, Leibniz, Kepler and other giants of history, in making his own discoveries. She reviewed the new means for measuring progress which he had created—“relative potential population density,” and “energy flux-density”—and the interconnection between these crucial concepts. She explored Lyn’s initial decision to combat the statistical method of systems analysis of Norbert Wiener and John von Neumann, which treated the mind as a computer, promoting artificial intelligence as a replacement for the mind. This false concept of the nature of man has grown today into the insanity of the “models” which drive the climate hoax, financial speculation, and the oligarchical society. She concluded by calling for the “replacement of the quackery of information theory with the ideas of LaRouche in all universities.” The leading Chinese economist Ding Yifan, who has written about LaRouche’s ideas in several books, noted that LaRouche focused on two crimes from the ending of Bretton Woods: the abuse of currencies through floating exchange rates, allowing speculators to attack national currencies; and the deregulation of the financial system, which allowed the speculators to take over. He noted two events in Chinese history, once during the Han Dynasty 2000 years ago, and then in the Mongol era in the 14th century, when similar disregard for the difference between money and the real economy led to the collapse of the dynasties. Today’s QE and other hyperinflationary money printing, he said, is creating a cancer in the economy—a demonstration of LaRouche’s warning about entropy resulting from the failure to develop the real economy. Jozef Miklosko, the former Vice Prime Minister of Czechoslovakia and former Slovakian Ambassador to Italy, described his friend LaRouche as the most educated man he’d ever known, and noted that 80 pages of his book was on LaRouche and his organization. He described his trip to visit LaRouche in prison, where his optimism and agapē were undeterred. He also reviewed the injustice of LaRouche’s incarceration, and the worldwide mobilization of world citizens who united to protest that injustice. He described LaRouche as the “Sakharov of America,” calling for a new revolution of Christian agapē. He recommended that a “short book” be produced in all languages on LaRouche’s ideas, which was embraced by Helga Zepp-LaRouche and moderator Dennis Small of the LaRouche Legacy Foundation, while observing that capturing LaRouche’s ideas in a “short” book would be quite difficult indeed. Dr. Natalia Vitrenko, Chairwoman of the Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine and a former Parliamentarian and presidential candidate, gave an impassioned presentation, titled “Saving Mankind: Is It a Mission—Possible?,” on her cooperation with Lyndon and Helga LaRouche. She pointed to the Biden-Putin Summit as correctly indicating the dangerous strategic crisis, but warned that it did not address the fundamental causes of that crisis, in the systemic destruction of the world economic and financial system. She reviewed the dire state of the world economy, and the necessary solutions posed by LaRouche. She called the state of the Western banking system a “speculative giant squid,” sucking the wealth out of the world. She also reviewed the destruction of Ukraine following the 2014 coup, driving the country from being one of the top ten economies in the world to now the poorest in Europe, with 10 million going hungry, and a population decline by over 20% since 1990. She closed: “Will we be a cemetery with windmills in place of crosses?” Dr. Kirk Meighoo, a former Senator in Trinidad & Tobago, an author and a political activist, described how he become a development economist through his education (in Toronto, Jamaica and the U.K.), but only when he discovered LaRouche through the internet did he realize that his profound ideas had been censored in all the universities. He described how the emergence of China, India and Russia as major economies should have led to a new world order, and that the G20 had made an effort in that direction, but failed, while the BRICS has now been torn apart. The pandemic destroyed economies around the world, he said, while money was printed up in outrageous quantities to bail out the banks, “transfering the wealth from the poor to the rich.” Resolving this crisis can only be achieved by ending the neoliberal system altogether, he noted, and commended the LaRouche movement for leading that effort. Yekaterina Fyodorovna Shamayeva from Russia, a senior lecturer, spoke on “Design and Management of Sustainable Development and an Interdisciplinary Synthesis of the Fundamental Ideas of the Schools of Lyndon LaRouche and Pobisk Kuznetsov.” The late Pobisk Kuznetsov was one of Russia’s leading scientists and philosophic thinkers, who became a close friend and collaborator of Lyndon LaRouche following the fall of the Soviet Union. He proposed that a new unit of measure of the progress of physical economies be based on LaRouche’s dual conceptions of relative potential population density and energy flux-density, and that the unit be called the “La,” after LaRouche. Shamayeva described the continuing effort in Russia to bring about a synthesis of the ideas of Kuznetsov and LaRouche, emphasizing that economics cannot be separated from the laws of nature. She called for more of LaRouche’s works to be translated into Russian (there is already a large number of LaRouche’s major writings available in Russian). The first panel closed with video presentations and readings about LaRouche from several people who have since died, among them: former Attorney General Ramsey Clark on the miscarriage of justice in the persecution of LaRouche; Dr. Enéas Carneiro, a former member of the Brazilian parliament and presidential candidate, on why LaRouche was granted honorary citizenship in the city of São Paulo; former President of Mexico José López Portillo, who in 1998 called on the world to “listen to the wise words of Lyndon LaRouche”; and former Foreign Minister of Guyana Fred Wills, who in 1976 called on the UN General Assembly to adopt LaRouche’s idea of a New International Economic Order. Fascinating dialogue during the Q&A session centered on three questions from the audience: 1) What is the difference between “forecasts” and “predictions?” 2) Do new technologies and robots threaten to cause unemployment? 3) What is the difference between Marxism, neoliberalism, and Christian socialism? As regional wars continue to rage, and new ones are threatened, the potential for a world nuclear war is so palpable that several world leaders are speaking out. Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, the opening speaker at this year’s Aspen Security Forum on Aug. 3, told the U.S. military-industrial community that Asian countries, and many in Europe, do not want to “choose” between China and the U.S. “No good outcome can arise from a conflict. It’s vital for the U.S. and China to strive to engage each other to head off a clash, which would be disastrous for both sides and the world…. I don’t know whether Americans realize what a formidable adversary they would be taking on if they decide that China is an enemy. China’s not going to disappear. This is not the Soviet Union. It is not the Potemkin village front. This is a country with enormous dynamism, energy, talent and determination to take its place in the world again.”Secretary of State Tony Blinken, speaking at the ASEAN Regional Forum on Aug. 6, had the chutzpah to warn the world about “the rapid growth of the P.R.C.’s nuclear arsenal, which highlights how Beijing has sharply deviated from its decades-old nuclear strategy based on minimum deterrence.” Not only does the U.S. have about 20 times the number of nuclear weapons as does China, but China is not deploying warships and warplanes along the U.S. coast, nor carrying out military exercises within miles of the U.S. border, as the U.S. and the British are on the Chinese border. Blinken made no effort to hide his intentions during the various ASEAN meetings this past week—namely, to recruit Asian nations to join in the anti-China crusade, to “show it is serious about engaging with Southeast Asia to push back against China,” as Reuters put it. Speaking at the East Asia Summit on Aug. 5, Blinken repeated the mantra about Chinese human rights abuses in Tibet, Hong Kong and Xinjiang. Foreign Secretary Wang Yi responded: “These clichés are not worth refuting, and none of the ASEAN countries agree with you.” Do Americans and their NATO partners truly believe, like Ozymandias in Shelley’s poem, that with a “frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,” that the rest of the world would “Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!”? What does the rest of the world think of the regime-change wars which have left millions of innocents dead or homeless? What do they think of the hoarding of vaccines for over a year, while the COVID virus mutated to new more deadly strains in the countries denied access to vaccines? What do they think of the demand from Western governments and Western banks, that their countries must forgo industrialization, constrict food supplies, and reduce their populations in order to “save the planet” from the nonexistent danger of carbon? There are no solutions to these multiple crises if approached one at a time, or in one country at a time. Lyndon LaRouche warned 50 years ago, when Nixon shut down FDR’s Bretton Woods system on Aug. 15, 1971, unleashing unrestrained speculation and de-industrialization, that civilization itself would disintegrate, unless the dying system were replaced with one worthy of human dignity for all people. The Schiller Institute conference on Saturday, July 24, was a powerful demonstration of the fact that political, scientific, industrial, and agricultural layers of the population across the trans-Atlantic region are mobilizing to fight the “Green New Deal” policy which is shutting down the productive economy and threatening Malthusian depopulation across the globe. Those who are fighting are also expressing their gratitude to the Schiller Institute for providing a platform to bring these forces together, while providing conceptual direction to the fight. The conference was titled “There Is No ‘Climate Emergency’—Apply the Science and Economics of Development To Stop Blackouts and Death.”Leading scientists from five countries exposed the lie that carbon has anything to do with the climate, and the devastation which is being imposed through the shutdown of fossil fuels and nuclear power. Farmers from the U.S. and Germany exposed the evil of using this fraud to shut down agricultural land. Helga Zepp-LaRouche described the collapse of Germany, once a leading center of mankind’s greatest science and culture, into post-industrial degeneracy, with all the parties backing the Green lies. And yet the conference exuded optimism. Demonstrating the willingness of citizens to stand up against both popular opinion and demonic leadership, to tell the truth, is the necessary first step for a nation to escape from the onrushing Dark Age. The conference opened with an inspiring video of Lyndon LaRouche speaking in December 1985, at a conference celebrating the 600th anniversary of his baptism in 1986 as “The Year of Saint Augustine,” on the meaning of “The Good,” as the great minds of history, like Socrates and Augustine, fought to understand that concept, and to convey it to the population. The Good, LaRouche said, lies in the power of human beings, through the creative power of the mind unique to the human race, to discover principles of the universe, apply those principles to the technologies and the arts, which increase the power of labor, thus contributing in one’s mortal life to the eternal life of mankind. In contrast to that conference, in a particularly ugly irony, were mass demonstrations held on the same day in four of the leading nations of the advanced sector: U.K., France, Italy and Australia. These mass demonstrations, some peaceful but some quite violent, including confrontations with police, were not opposing the genocidal Green New Deal; were not opposing the mounting danger of thermonuclear war; nor were they demanding an end to the austerity and poverty conditions affecting every industrial nation and threatening mass starvation in the underdeveloped nations. No, they were “anti-vaxxers,” enraged people with no sense of solving the actual causes of the global break down crisis facing mankind, but driven to near madness over being told to vaccinate themselves against the COVID-19 virus, which has killed over 4 million people, and is again on the rise almost everywhere. A speaker at the London demonstration called for people to report the names of the doctors and nurses administering the vaccine, proclaiming: “At the Nuremberg trials, the doctors and nurses stood trial and they were hung.” One is reminded of the Flagellants in the 14th century Dark Age. Do these people truly believe that all the scientists in Russia, China, Europe and the U.S. who have contributed to the development of these vaccines are trying to kill everyone? It were best if they would join the Schiller Institute in exposing and destroying the Green New Deal, which is in fact a Malthusian movement, launched and directed by Prince Charles in league with the mega bankers of the City of London and Wall Street, to “cull the herd” of the human race. On July 31, the Schiller Institute is holding another conference, with a focus on the window of opportunity represented by the withdrawal of U.S. and NATO forces from the 20-year disastrous war in Afghanistan. Will Afghanistan descend again into becoming a training ground for terrorism and the world’s leading producer of opium, or will the U.S. finally break from British geopolitics, of “us against them,” of Hobbesian “all against all,” to join with Russia and China, and all the other nations of the region, in the development of railroads, industries, agriculture, schools and hospitals in Afghanistan, to demonstrate the principle of “Peace Through Development,” as intended by America’s Founding Fathers, by John Quincy Adams, Abraham Lincoln, and Franklin D. U.S. and Russian leaders are scheduled to hold a second meeting on Wednesday, July 28, in Geneva, to discuss arms control and other strategic issues, set in motion by Presidents Biden and Putin in their Summit and in their phone conversations. Afghanistan will certainly be on the agenda. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman will be meeting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and other Chinese leaders in Tianjin on Monday, July 26, where again Afghanistan is certain to be on the agenda—and perhaps the potential for a Summit of Presidents Biden and Xi Jinping. It is a pregnant moment in history, for good or for ill. We must mobilize for the Good.

A sign at an organizing table in New Jersey manned by The LaRouche Organization yesterday posed these alternatives for Afghanistan, and by implication for the world: “Terror, War and Drugs; or Peace Through Development.” The first option would have a devastating impact on every man, woman and child in the world, given the fact that a destabilized Afghanistan will continue as the source of 80% of the world’s opium and as a training ground for ISIS and al-Qaeda. The second option—by following the proposal offered by Lyndon LaRouche even before George Bush launched the war 20 years ago—would allow Afghanistan to end its history as the “graveyard of empires,” and to become the hub for an expanded New Silk Road, with rail lines connecting the landlocked countries of Central Asia to the ocean via a north-south rail line through Kabul and Pakistan, as well as east-west connections following the ancient Silk Road.LaRouche’s proposals began with the necessity that all the countries in the region—Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Iran, and the five Central Asian nations, meet and cooperate with the Afghanis to assure development, to the benefit of all, as the only means by which the terrorism and the drugs could be eliminated. There are now, over this past week, developments which convey the very real potential that this is possible. The U.S. military withdrawal after 20 years of useless, destructive, deadly warfare, has sparked actions by all of the regional nations, which held a series of meetings this week largely focused on the urgency of bringing real development to Afghanistan. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Foreign Ministers’ Council, which includes China, Russia, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as ten other nations as Observers or Dialogue Partners, met in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on July 13-14. At the center of the discussions, including the sideline discussions, was the idea that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor could be extended, branching out from the rail line running from China through Pakistan to the Gwadar Port on the Arabian Sea. From Islamabad, the branch would pass through Peshawar, the Khyber Pass, to Kabul, then onward north to Tashkent, Uzbekistan and on to the Eurasian Land-Bridge lines connecting China to Europe. This plan was launched in February in a meeting of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan, called the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor. This and other development plans were also on the table at a July 15-16 meeting in Tashkent of the “International Conference on Central and South Asia Regional Connectivity, Challenges and Opportunities.” Dilshod Saidjanov, an Uzbek spokesman, told India’s Asia News International (ANI): “Economic development is the way to make Afghanistan stronger and probably more peaceful. Everyone wants better development in Afghanistan.” Pakistan has proposed the establishment of an “SCO Development Bank,” to further generate credit for these development projects. Will the U.S. join these efforts, or allow the “war party” which dominates both U.S. political parties and the media to act against them, under the evil lie that they are simply another expression of China trying to “take over the world.” A sliver of hope that the U.S. will take the sane approach of cooperation in development was seen in a State Department release on July 16: “Announcing the U.S.-Afghanistan-Uzbekistan-Pakistan Quad Regional Support for Afghanistan-Peace Process and Post Settlement.” These are indeed the nations through which the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor would pass. The announcement states: that “the parties intend to cooperate to expand trade, build transit links, and strengthen business-to-business ties.” Such a shift in the now-normal U.S. policies of sanctions, wars and regime change subversion should be strongly encouraged. Next week’s issue of Executive Intelligence Review will contain a package on this critical moment in Afghanistan, a moment in which the fate of the entire world could be determined, for good or for ill. An international agreement to cooperate with Afghanistan and its neighbors to transform the region into a central hub for the global New Silk Road process would also serve as a model for ending other crisis spots, in the war-ruined nations of Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Yemen. This is the principle of the Schiller Institute’s “Coincidence of Opposites”—bringing seemingly intractable conflicts to an end by addressing the higher-ordered principle located in the common interests of all people, for peace through development. Dramatic developments are taking place over the past days which make clear that the world is sitting at a crossroads. Two clearly distinct ideas about the nature of man are contending for the future of human civilization. One, which could well lead to the destruction of civilization itself in a nuclear holocaust, sides with the Aristotelian outlook of the British Empire, that some people are born to rule and others to serve, that human beings are as defined by Thomas Hobbes, as “all against all,” with nations following the same logic, locked into geopolitical laws of zero-sum “survival of the fittest.” The other view believes that: “Development holds the key to the people’s well-being, [and] no country should be left behind. All nations are equally entitled to development opportunities and rights to development.” While it would be understandable that one may think this statement came from Franklin D. Roosevelt as he planned his postwar vision for the role of a United Nations, it is in fact the words of Xi Jinping, speaking on July 6 to delegates of 500 parties and institutions from around the world, representing 160 countries, fully three-fourths of the human race, joining in support of the principle of “Peace Through Development,” as intended by China’s Belt and Road Initiative.Today, the Schiller Institute’s founder and president Helga Zepp-LaRouche released a statement titled: “Afghanistan at a Crossroads: Graveyard for Empires or Start of a New Era?” She posits that the policies taken by the world’s nations today on the future of Afghanistan not only affects every citizen of every country, in the sense that the danger of terrorism and drug proliferation affect us all, but also because it could well determine the fate of mankind itself. Will Americans follow this British prescription for imperial “divide and rule,” or will they recall the spirit of the U.S. Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Was this intended only for those who follow so-called “Western values,” and who follow the so-called “rules-based order,” or is it indeed intended for all mankind?

The Schiller Institute International Conference which will take place next weekend, under the theme: “For the Common Good of All People, Not Rules Benefitting the Few!” has been given a few small, but greatly significant boosts in the real world over the past week. The most important was the unexpected Communiqué following the Summit between Presidents Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin. While no Communiqué was necessarily expected, it was signed by both men, and repeated the exact words of Presidents Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev after their November 1985 summit, also in Geneva, that “Today, we reaffirm the principle that a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought.” Not surprisingly, this extraordinarily important statement—at a time when leading figures and institutions around the world, including this organization, were warning that the world was closer to nuclear war than any time since the Cold War, or perhaps ever—has been largely ignored, or even blacked out, in the leading Western press.Following that Communiqué, Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan announced to the press that Biden is seeking to hold a similar personal summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. It is important to take note of the fact that the British-instigated coup attempts against President Donald Trump were motivated by the British fear that Trump would succeed in his stated intention to be friends with Russia and with China—a deadly threat to the Empire’s division of the world into warring blocs, East vs. West—the core requirement of imperial “divide and conquer.” From the disgusting and threatening tone of the press response to these moves for peaceful cooperation, both to Biden personally at his post-Summit press conference, and filling the pages and the air waves since, it is clear that the spokesmen for Empire and the War Party are not pleased. Another event, also ignored by the American media, but causing a storm in Europe, was the result of the June 13 referendum in Switzerland on a new draconian law to charge fees and taxes on carbon-generating activities—the first vote anywhere in the world on the Green New Deal. Not only was the bill rejected, but subsequent reports show that those under 34 years of age, who are assumed to be those most brainwashed to believe that their future depends on decarbonization, voted overwhelmingly against the bill. The impact in Germany and elsewhere in Europe is huge, generating panic among the Greenies. Germany’s Weltwoche called it “a turning point in international climate policy,” a “popular uprising” against the “dictates of the elites.” EIR and the Schiller Institute have, for many years, exposed the insanity of both the drive for military confrontation with Russia and China, and the Malthusian Green New Deal policy for de-industrialization and depopulation, while also posing the potential for global economic transformation were the world’s leading nations to unite behind a new global financial system and cooperative development of the developing sector nations, along the lines of China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The Summit between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden could not come at a more critical point in history. Not only current history, but universal history. The Peace of Westphalia in 1648 ended the decades of warfare in Europe by establishing the concept of national sovereignty between nations, based on the principle that a nation’s national interest rests on the interests of the others. This principle has been breached many times, and horrible wars fought as a result, and none more deadly and destructive as the global wars of the 20th “Century of War,” as Lyndon LaRouche called it.But under the direction of Franklin Roosevelt, a United Nations Charter was drafted and implemented following the Second World War, aimed at re-establishing the principles underlying the Peace of Westphalia, and mechanisms (imperfect ones) to manage conflicts before military actions were taken. These ideas were advanced further in 1954 when China and India, represented by Zhou Enlai and Jawaharlal Nehru, resolved their conflict of the time by formulating the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence—territorial integrity; non-aggression; non-interference in internal affairs; equality of nations; and peaceful coexistence. These principles were adopted in 1955 by the participants of the Bandung Conference of African and Asian nations, free of their former colonial rulers, and in 1961 at the founding of the Non-Aligned Movement. Historian Patrick Lawrence, in an article posted today in Consortium News, reviewed these Five Principles, adding that the US “has not once, not in any given year, observed even one of Zhou’s principles. It has always, in any given year, abused all five.” While that may be an exaggeration, Lawrence’s point is that this may be a moment of truth for the US—that in fact Presidents Biden and Putin may be on track to effect a change towards the better in bilateral relations, towards the profound notions of Westphalian sovereignty, towards restoring sanity in US foreign relations. A similar point was made by Ray McGovern, who was a leading CIA analyst of Soviet/Russian affairs for 27 years. McGovern, in a June 9 interview posted on his website, www.raymcgovern.com, pointed to the fateful day of April 13, when four events took place on that single day: it was announced that the Russians had deployed significant military forces on the Ukraine border; Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu confirmed that deployment; Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned the US that its planned deployment of two destroyers into the Black Sea at this dangerous moment was “playing with fire” (the deployment was scrapped); and President Biden called President Putin, setting in motion the process leading to this Summit. McGovern was not predicting any particular outcome—he warned that the media and the war party in the US were doing everything they could to “mousetrap” the meeting. Although it is apparent to the world that President Biden is surrounded by advisors and military-industrial spokesmen promoting confrontation with both Russia and China, it is also true that he initiated a two-hour phone call with President Xi JInping, despite his Secretary of State Antony Blinken continuing the Pompeo lies about Chinese “genocide” and “slave labor.” And, he initiated a phone call to Putin on a day which could literally have seen the beginning of a war, a war which could have led to the annihilation of the human race. After being tricked by a journalist into calling Putin a “killer” on March 17, Biden was pushed by the press on Monday to repeat the gaff, but responded instead: “I have met with him. He’s bright. He’s tough. And I have found that he is a—as they used to say when I used to play ball—a worthy adversary.” The world is sitting on a precipice, facing the danger of a financial hyperinflationary break down; of a global war between nuclear superpowers; of a pandemic which is infecting and killing more people this year than all of last year; and an economic breakdown of the productive forces across most of the world outside of China and its periphery. The G7 meeting opened today with Prime Minister Boris Johnson proving more and more to be a buffoon. Bojo, as he is known, called on the (formerly) most advanced nations of the G7 to unite for the destruction of the world. In his own words: “We’re building back better together. And building back greener. and building back fairer. And building back more equal. Maybe in a more gender neutral, a more feminine way.” In fact, a major focus of the summit is what the controllers of President Biden have labeled the “Clean Green Initiative.” The U.S. officials who gave a background briefing on the G7 Summit openly described it as an “alternative” to China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Why an “alternative?” Because, they said, it would be “climate friendly,” unlike China’s BRI, which, in addition to building big carbon-generating infrastructure projects such as railroads, dams, ports and bridges, is building coal-fired power plants all over Africa.Recall that less than half of the people in Sub-Saharan Africa have access to electricity, and 90% of the continent’s electricity comes from coal-fired plants. Recall also that the former head of the Bank of England, Mark Carney, now the UN climate czar, told Africa last month that they must stop the development of their resources, especially coal, in exchange for “carbon credits,” and that “green police” will be the new colonial Governor-Generals in their countries, to enforce their non-development. The Clean Green Initiative is more than a plan to stop China’s transformation of Africa and other nations into modern industrial economies—it is outright genocidal, in keeping with the Royal Family’s Malthusian hatred of mankind. In fact, it is not surprising that the Royal Family is all over this summit in Cornwall, while also sponsoring parallel meetings in London with the leading mega-bank CEOs, who are the enforcers of the green genocide, committed to cutting credit to all those who refuse their de-carbonization dictates. On Sunday, the Biden’s will have tea with the bloody Queen in Windsor Castle. The LaRouche Organization announced today that 7,500 more copies of the pamphlet “The Great Leap Backward: LaRouche Crushes the ‘Green New Deal’ Fraud,” are being printed this weekend. The former U.S. Ambassador to the Soviet Union Jack Matlock issued a public letter today, along with other members of the American Committee for U.S.-Russia Accord (ACURA), which states that the British intelligence instigation of the witch-hunt into supposed Russian interference in the 2016 election, although thoroughly discredited, “has now in turn given birth to two much more dangerous phenomena: an escalating militarism reminiscent of the darkest days of the Cold War; and a dangerous erosion of the decades-long bilateral arms control regime negotiated even during that Great Power standoff. These developments imperil not just the two principal players, but are a threat to global peace, prosperity, even survival.” Following the G7 summit, NATO will hold another summit on Monday, June 14, in which they intend to codify the intention for NATO to leave behind their role as a defensive organization of the North Atlantic nations, and to become, in the words of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, a “political-military” alliance, with a global scope of action, focused on countering the imagined “threats” from Russia and China. The UN has been relegated to the dustbin of history, in the imagination of the leaders of this military-industrial axis. Their imagination is deeply flawed. Already Russia, China and India have made very clear that they will neither shut down their own fossil fuels, nor allow the developing nations of Africa and Ibero-America to be forced to give up the hope for development in exchange for the chimera of “carbon credits.” Leading Africans and Ibero Americans have said the same, from South Africa to Nigeria and from Argentina to El Salvador, setting an example for others to have the same courage to act against the new Dark Age. These leaders are increasingly looking to The LaRouche Organization and the Schiller Institute for the leadership which can unite this opposition into a positive force for the good—for LaRouche’s Four Laws and a New Bretton Woods. The corrupt corporate news networks in the U.S. appear to have little news to report other than stoking flames of anxiety and fear regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, which, while coming under control within the U.S.—at least for the moment—is raging out of control in hotspots all over the world. As in nearly every critical issue facing mankind today—a rush to military confrontation between nuclear powers; a financial bubble multiply larger than any previous bubble and now spilling out into the real economy with a threatened hyperinflation; a Green New Deal being implemented by the mega-banks, shutting down the advanced sector economies and threatening genocide in the developing nations—in all of these a false narrative has been manufactured by the Malthusian spin-masters to obscure both the actual nature of the crisis and the necessary solutions.On the military side, the lies peddled in the U.S., U.K. and EU about Russian and Chinese “malign actions,” “military aggression” and “human rights violations” are laughed at in nearly every other nation of the world. Are you surprised to learn that these nations have been denied development precisely through such a “debt trap” by the neo-colonial powers, while China learned the “secret” that escaping poverty comes only through large-scale physical infrastructure, lifting the productive platform of entire nations? That was once properly known as the “American System,” a system which has long been relegated to dusty library books in the United States itself in favor of British System deregulated “free” markets Most importantly, take the COVID-19 pandemic. The world knows how China dealt with it—massive testing, contact tracing, and constructing huge new hospitals in ten days—all through mobilizing a concerned citizenry to act on behalf of the nation as a whole. President Trump praised the amazing response in China. When the pandemic reached the U.S., President Trump at first told the population the truth: “our health cupboard is bare,” he said. Decades of turning health care over to Wall Street, letting insurance companies determine medical care and usurp one-third of the healthcare budget as speculative profit, aggravated by Obamacare (and, not mentioned, by the fact that Trump did nothing to reverse the disaster), had led to the closure of hundreds of hospitals, both urban and rural, and “just in time” production to cut costs, which eliminated reserves of medicines and medical equipment. This was the truth. Sir Richard Dearlove, the former MI6 chief who ran the Russiagate hoax against President Trump, said from the beginning that we should not worry about stopping the pandemic, but rather, blame China and make them pay for the global damage. When the pandemic got out of control in the U.S., as the nation was unable to respond as a “one,” rather than “the many,” and anarchistic actions and lack of coordination created a disaster. The geopoliticians who surrounded Trump convinced him he needed to blame someone else if he wanted to get reelected. In the worst error of his presidency, he gave in to Pompeo and his ilk and began blaming China. The rest, as they say, is history. Americans, for the most part, no longer discuss what must be done to resolve the global pandemic, but are driven into a false narrative, that all that matters is who to blame. The upcoming Summit between Presidents Biden and Putin—if it is not sabotaged by the anti-Russia imperial interests—is a potential moment of transformation in the current looming catastrophe. While it is obvious that President Biden has cognitive limitations, and that he has even less power to make policy within his administration than did President Trump, we must build international support for the two leaders to agree on emergency measures to stop the pandemic, as called for by the Committee for the Coincidence of Opposites. Were that to be achieved, the world would more likely recognize that the same process of global cooperation for the common good, could, and must, be employed to address the global financial crisis, to replace the perpetual wars and the threat of global nuclear war, with global cooperation in physical economic development on the model of China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Economists and political leaders from around the world are meeting in Russia this week for the annual St. Petersburg Economic Forum. A leading topic of discussion in at least several of the many panels was the fact that the illegal use of unilateral sanctions by the US, the UK, and the EU has reached a point that several leading countries, and in particular Russia and China, are deep in discussions about breaking out of the US dollar-dominated international financial system. In a panel chaired by the Valdai Discussion Club, titled “The Risks Sanctions Pose to the Global FInancial System and International Business,” the introduction reads: “The transformation of the dollar into a weapon carries the threat of unforeseen shocks…. The intensity and indiscriminate nature with which sanctions are deployed suggests that a targeted political tool is now becoming all-encompassing.”Vladimir Kolychev, Russia’s Deputy Finance Minister, said that as a result of these criminal sanctions, “a new global financial system is coming into being. It won’t come overnight, but it is inevitable. The sanctioned countries will do it.” There is an ongoing withdrawal from the existing structures, he said, since it is not safe to use US dollars (Washington’s claim to have the right to impose sanctions on countries, businesses, and individuals, is based simply on the fact that nearly all global trade transactions pass through the US dollar system, even when the trade has nothing to do with the US). Russia’s trade was 80% in dollars as recently as 2019, Kolychev noted, but is now less than 50%. Reserves in Russia are now only 20% in US dollars. While the sanctions are reason enough for taking such emergency measures, a second looming disaster is that years and years of printing dollars to bail out financial bubbles in the trans-Atlantic banking system, without expanding the productive base, is threatening hyperinflation in the dollar zone. On May 31, China’s Global Times editorial began: “While it is uncertain whether the Biden administration’s helicopter money policies will spur a new round of economic growth, it is already clear that the spending spree will first mire the US economy in a bottomless pit of inflation.” Here is yet another reason to extricate national currencies from the dollar, to trade in national currencies, or, as some suggest, in new digital currencies. But is this wise? It can not be questioned that the dozens of sanctioned countries are justified in wishing to get out from under the deadly and illegal unilateral sanctions. But, should the world be broken up into separate trading zones, especially at a time when the US establishment and NATO are mobilizing for war against both Russia and China, for no reason except to keep the trillions of dollars flowing into the military-industrial complex and its Wall Street/City of London owners? Does further financial division not encourage this war party? Also, even if the majority of the world’s countries pulled out from the dominance of the dollar, and joined in great development projects through the Belt and Road Initiative, if the US, UK, and EU are left to disintegrate, this would only lead to global disintegration and war. Here is where the concept of the Coincidence of Opposites, from Nicholas of Cusa, and the Committee of that name launched by Helga Zepp-LaRouche and former Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders in 2020, addresses the necessary resolution of an apparently insoluble crisis. Neither the western economies nor the developing economies can accept the Green New Deal now being forced upon the world by the trans-Atlantic banking oligarchy, as it would destroy the industrial nations economies and literally depopulate the developing nations. Neither the Eastern nations nor the Western nations can withstand a 1929-style crash, let alone a hyperinflationary disaster like that of 1923 Germany. And certainly no sane person wants nuclear war. The solution, as difficult as it may seem in the current chaos, lies in addressing the common aims of mankind: joining nations together in a New Bretton Woods, using the proven method of Glass-Steagall bankruptcy reorganization to restore sound credit policies; use the uplifting and successful model of international cooperation in space exploration, and in realizing the short-term reachable goal of limitless energy through fusion power; foster educational systems which teach both one’s own history and culture, but also those of other cultures vastly different from one’s own. It is known as a Renaissance. We are all human, with creative powers, imago viva dei. We have a responsibility to the Creator to use those powers to further the human miracle. The British Empire’s classic imperial policy of “divide and conquer” was at the core of the “Mutually Assured Destruction” (MAD) policy which the British established after the development of nuclear weapons by the U.S. First, the British demanded that the U.S. hurry up and use the atomic bomb, before the war ended—not because it was needed to defeat the Japanese, who were already defeated by General MacArthur’s strategy of cutting off their access to raw materials, but to show the world that the Anglo-American leaders were insane enough to mass murder innocent civilians. This was only possible due to the early death of Franklin Roosevelt and the coming to power of the British/Wall Street puppet Harry Truman.Once that act of terror was complete, spokesmen for the Empire like Lord Bertrand Russell advised an immediate nuclear attack on the Soviet Union and the establishment of a One World Government—a revised version of the British Empire. The Soviets quickly developed their own nuclear weapons, however, so the MAD doctrine was devised, whose primary purpose was not to prevent a nuclear war, but to keep the world divided, to stop any chance of a return to Roosevelt’s policy of uniting the U.S., the U.S.S.R., and China in the noble task of developing the former colonies into modern industrial nations using American System methods. But do not assume that the MAD doctrine means there is no chance that anyone would be crazy enough to use nuclear weapons in the world today. As EIR has reported, Adm. Charles Richard, the head of Strategic Command, the agency which would deploy such nuclear weapons, has openly declared that nuclear war is “likely,” and that we must prepare for it. “Consequently, the U.S. military,” he said in the February issue of U.S. Naval Institute’s Proceedings, “must shift its principal assumption from ‘nuclear employment is not possible’ to ‘nuclear employment is a very real possibility,’ and act to meet and deter that reality.” It was this statement which provoked Daniel Ellsberg, famous as the U.S. intelligence official who released the Pentagon Papers in 1971, exposing the U.S. crimes in Vietnam, to again release classified documents, this time exposing the plan by leading U.S. military officers and the U.S. Secretary of State John Foster Dulles to use nuclear weapons against China in 1958, in defense of Taiwan. China had no nuclear weapons at the time, but the proponents acknowledged that the U.S.S.R. would potentially respond, and global nuclear war could result. Only President Eisenhower prevented such a holocaust, as a military leader who understood the horror of war, let alone nuclear war. The publication of Ellsberg’s exposure by the New York Times on May 22, a week after Ellsberg’s release, prevented a general blackout of this explosive story, and it is now being reported widely. (Why the Times did so is not known, but perhaps it was in memory of the fact that they were the first to publish the Pentagon Papers in Juned 1971, fifty years earlier.) It is worth taking note that this was not the only time the U.S. and their British friends advocated a nuclear war. In 1954, as the French colonial regime in Vietnam was about to be routed by the forces of Ho Chi Minh, Dulles proposed using U.S. nuclear weapons to bail out our “allies” (whom Roosevelt would have prevented from retaking their colony in the first place, or any of the European powers from returning to their colonies). When the U.S. took over the colonial wars for the British and the French, getting embroiled in the Indochina disaster, President Nixon proposed using nuclear weapons against Vietnam. The current discussion of this potential horror is so openly being discussed that even National Public Radio today played a tape recording of Nixon and Henry Kissinger discussing using nuclear weapons to demolish North Vietnam. A memo from Kissinger (a leading proponent of the British MAD doctrine) to Nixon read: “Should we be prepared to use nuclear weapons?… Since we cannot confidently predict the exact point at which Hanoi could be likely to respond positively, we must be prepared to play out whatever string necessary…. To achieve its full effect on Hanoi’s thinking, the action must be brutal.” [Emphasis in original.] There is no separating the danger of nuclear war from the multi-pronged crisis facing the trans-Atlantic nations—a financial bubble unprecedented in history, beginning to hemorrhage; a self-imposed policy of economic destruction under the insane Green New Deal; a backlash in the developing nations, in Africa, in Central and South America, and in Asia, whereby a growing number of nations are declaring openly that they prefer development aid and cooperation coming from China in meeting the pandemic to the imperial demands from Washington. The Biden State Department is openly threatening developing nations that they must reject support from China or face a cutoff of markets and support from the U.S., and possible sanctions for being “undemocratic.” A much greater backlash is required from within the U.S. and Europe. The Schiller Institute is mobilizing this positive potential within the U.S. population, and globally, and in particular among the youth, who, as in other periods of intense crisis, are beginning to look for real intellectual and moral leadership. Two Schiller Institute conferences this year, in March and in May, demonstrated the possibility of uniting leaders and patriots of nations around the world to address and resolve, together, the deadly challenges facing humanity as a whole—war, pandemic, famine, economic disintegration, cultural decay. Another such conference is being planned for the weeks ahead. It is only possible to overcome conflicts between nations and peoples by lifting the narrative to the level of the common aims of mankind—which is the meaning behind Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s founding of the Committee for the Coincidence of Opposites. The geopoliticians do not believe there is such a thing as a common aim for mankind, but that mankind is defined by the Darwinian, Hobbesian view of man, as a beast fighting for superiority and survival at the expense of others. When you hear that leaders of the U.S. and the U.K. would be willing to risk a nuclear war, even knowing that their own countries would be decimated and civilization could be destroyed, do you doubt that it were possible, that one would have to be insane to think in that way? When told that the Green New Deal plans to eliminate all fossil fuels and nuclear power, and rely only on “renewables” like solar and wind, which would be capable of sustaining only a small fraction of the current human population, is your response that those promoting it could not possibly intend such a genocidal result?If the answer to either question is yes, then you have rejected the evidence in plain sight that those leaders are open, proud supporters of the ideas of Pastor Thomas Malthus, that population growth must be stopped or the human race will destroy itself. The argument has taken many forms over the centuries—Pastor Malthus himself argued that human population growth is exponential, while food production is geometric, leading inevitably to famine, depression and depopulation. In the heyday of the British Empire’s colonial expansion, eugenics—race science—was preached by the good pastors of the day, showing “scientifically” that the white race was superior to the “lesser races,” justifying both the forced backwardness and ill treatment of their colonial subjects, with an occasional famine or unrestrained pandemic to “cull the herd.” Eugenics became unmentionable when the Nazis used it to eliminate the Jews and others in gas ovens, but after the war, Lord Bertrand Russell (whom Lyndon LaRouche described as the most evil man of his time), said, regarding the need to deal with the “overpopulation problem”: “War … has hitherto been disappointing in this respect … but perhaps bacteriological war may prove more effective. If a Black Death could spread throughout the world once in every generation, survivors could procreate freely without making the world too full. … The state of affairs might be somewhat unpleasant, but what of it?” The term "eugenics" was simply replaced with "conservation" and "environmentalism." Problem solved. Now, Pastor Malthus has pretended to be a climate scientist, terrifying the children and the child-like with computer printouts which claim that carbon—the food of plants, the food of life—is actually a pollutant which is heating the planet to a boiling point, which will kill us all if we don’t shut down industries, stop eating meat, and, at all costs, prevent the developing countries from developing into modern industrial nations. To be certain of that, Mark Carney, former Governor of the Bank of England and now the UN Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance, told a climate conference with African leaders that they must promise absolutely that they will not develop their resources nor cut down their trees, nor build any “carbon polluting” industries or infrastructure, in order to get “carbon offsets” from the industrial country industries. Those industries will continue emitting carbon, while keeping the developing countries backward, and their raw materials cheap, by paying a small “carbon tax.” And Carney even told the Africans that “green police” will have to occupy their countries to enforce the non-development and to earn their carbon offsets. Green Colonialism. And why do the U.S. and U.K. governments hate Russia and China so much, deploying nuclear armed missiles, planes and submarines to all of their borders, in Europe, in Asia and now even in the Arctic? Is it because of their “aggression,” when, unlike the U.S. and NATO, they keep their military forces within their own borders and their immediate neighborhood? Is it because of human rights, as in Xinjiang, which is prospering, while U.S. wars and sanctions on Syria, Yemen, and dozens of other countries are causing famine and misery? The answer is that the Green New Deal will not work if China is building infrastructure, power plants and industries all over the developing sector with the Belt and Road, while Russia is building both coal-fired plants and nuclear power plants in Africa. Russia and China are doing what Franklin Roosevelt intended to do after the war—to end European colonial forced backwardness once and for all with American System methods, Hamiltonian methods. But America itself has given up on the American System and succumbed to the British System, free markets, free trade, deregulation, deindustrialization, and economic policy run not by elected governments but by private banks, which are cutting credit to the productive economy to “save the planet.” Will they go to war to get their way? Perhaps they believe Russia and China will back down, and give up on development. Perhaps they think the developing countries of Africa, Ibero-America and Asia will also agree to be “bought off” in order to remain backward. They are wrong. The LaRouche Organization, the Schiller Institute, and the Committee on the Coincidence of Opposites know that unless the path to war and depopulation is rejected by the citizens and the nations of the world, and these nations come together—including especially Russia, China and the U.S.—to end the pandemic with modern health systems in every country; to stop the famine with a mobilization of nations globally to double food production; to stop the war buildup and divert the military-industrial sector into high-technology energy, infrastructure and space exploration; and put the bloated gambling casino of Wall Street and the City of London through bankruptcy reorganization in a New Bretton Woods—without all of this, the world and the population faces disintegration. In organizing for the Schiller Institute Conference this Saturday, organizers from the LaRouche movement internationally have increasingly found that the veil of obscurity imposed on the populations of the trans-Atlantic nations, by governments and by the whorish media, is beginning to shred. The insidious evil of the Malthusian Green New Deal is sinking in—in part due to the mass circulation of the pamphlet The Great Leap Backward—LaRouche Crushes the Green New Deal Fraud. The rush for military confrontation with Russia and China—for even less reason than the illegal and immoral wars which destroyed Iraq, Libya, and Syria—are based on similar lies, and those lies are increasingly evident to serious people. Even the war-mongering New York Times ran an opinion piece calling the Biden Administration’s provocations of China over Taiwan “reckless,” risking a “catastrophic war.” And most important, the writer asks the war hawks how many American lives they are willing to risk, noting that senior American statesmen (naming Stapleton Roy and Chas Freeman) have now warned that a war with China could be nuclear.Nor is the media getting a free ride. Caitlin Johnston, who last month issued an article titled “The rising threat of nuclear war is the most urgent matter in the world,” on Wednesday reported on the disgusting interview of Secretary of State Tony Blinken by Norah O’Donnell on CBS’s 60 Minutes, on May 2, in which it was impossible to tell whether the interviewer or the interviewee was the more disgusting. Johnstone indicts O’Donnell in her own words, simply by listing the questions, which included: “Have you ever seen China be so assertive or aggressive militarily?” And, “Describe what you see is happening in Xinjiang that maybe the rest of the world doesn’t.” And, “The Chinese have stolen hundreds of billions, if not trillions, of dollars of trade secrets and intellectual property from the United States. That sounds like the actions of an enemy.” Consider the hypocrisy when the Chinese and Russian press are accused of being subservient to their governments. But the war danger is palpable. Blinken is in Ukraine, discussing the process of bringing Ukraine into NATO, placing the war machine directly on Russia’s border. Russia called a meeting of the UN Security Council Wednesday to present evidence and witnesses of the atrocities by murderous nazi gangs in Ukraine since the 2014 Maidan color revolution. First Deputy Permanent Representative Dmitry Polyansky called them “hideous events that cannot leave any normal person indifferent.” The response of the US and British was a joint statement: “We regret this deliberate attempt to divert the attention of the international community from Russia’s ongoing destabilizing activities against Ukraine over the last seven years.” The push for military confrontation with nuclear-armed powers, together with the Green New Deal, represent the concerted effort to restore the British Empire to its previous bloody glory, now with the US as the “dumb giant” providing the brawn for the British warped brain. Malthusian depopulation is still the stated aim of the British Royal Family and its minions, whether by war, by pestilence, by famine, or by forced economic destruction through colonial looting or its modern form in the Green New Deal. The crisis is so enormous that people are beginning to shed their delusions that somehow “they,” the powers that be, will not let such a disaster happen. Creating the required density of citizens, internationally, who break those chains of delusion,and activate their creative powers on behalf of humanity and our posterity, requires the activation of the ideas generated by Lyndon LaRouche over these past fifty years. Anyone who is not sleep-walking is aware that madness has taken over strategic planners in the trans-Atlantic region. The major Western banking system, squatting on trillions of dollars printed up by subservient governments to keep them afloat, is not investing in anything productive, and has declared that it is cutting off credit to fossil fuels and carbon-emitting industry and agriculture to “save the planet,” while killing off much of the human population. The Biden administration has declared Russia and China to be “existential” threats, while also declaring that nuclear war is no longer “unlikely,” but has become “likely.” NATO is moving into military positions directly on the Russian and Chinese borders. Presidents Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping are declaring that they want global cooperation, but also assert that NATO is crossing several well defined “red lines,” challenging their sovereignty, and forcing them to prepare for war. It could not be clearer that the world is on the brink of a thermonuclear holocaust.But the reality is that many people—even most people—are sleepwalking. There are signs that the level of economic and strategic insanity is so great that some people are beginning to throw away their delusions, recognizing that the evil is taking place in their name, by their governments, and an “anti-Malthusian” movement is emerging, to save mankind from its own folly. The Schiller Institute and The LaRouche Organization are the primary organizing force for that critical effort, and are holding a conference of leading speakers from around the world on May 8, under the title in the headline of this report, which all people of good will should register and attend. The fundamental question, then, is, how to wake up the sleepwalkers, to get people to consider their purpose on Earth, to create a force capable of stopping the holocaust and building a new paradigm for mankind, based on Classical scientific and cultural ideas. Helga Zepp-LaRouche, speaking to The LaRouche Organization Manhattan Project town hall on May 1, addressed this directly: “I personally think that this question of the indifference; that people have lost the ability to react—maybe because people are demoralized, maybe because people think you can’t do anything about it anyway, what can I do as an individual. But I think there is a deeper cultural question. I want to refer to something which my late husband Lyndon LaRouche has said many times; namely, that he was convinced that the only way humanity would get out of this crisis would be if a large enough number of people would regain an ability to think in a Classical way. That sounds like a very far-fetched and far-off possibility, because most people today don’t even have a clear idea what Classical means. They think Classical means the Beatles or the Rolling Stones or something like that. But it is, in my view, one of the most important questions; to regain a knowledge of what scientific thinking and Classical thinking in art really is. Because otherwise you are in the situation where opinion reigns, and in a liberal world every opinion is as good as the other one, and therefore you end in a complete chaos and non-action. “I want to very briefly look at something which may be a little bit not your daily thinking. But I want to say that the West in general is clearly in a moral crisis. If you look at the suicide rates of young people, if you look at the drug addiction, if you look at the number of people dying by violence, mass shootings. The fact that we tolerate so many things, that we don’t have an impulse to try to make the world better. Many people may debate what I’m saying, but I do think that the most important underlying axiomatic problem is that we have a moral collapse. There are some people who know that, and we are talking to them. But the question people should ask themselves is, how did we get here? What was the process of undermining the beautiful principles of the American Revolution, of the American Constitution? Given the fact that we in Germany have had the horrible experience of plunging from the absolute height of Classical culture, of the Classical period between Bach and Mozart, to Beethoven, Schubert, Schuman, Schiller, Humboldt. We in Germany had a Classical period which expressed the highest conception of humanity in terms of universal history…. So, the question naturally is, how was it possible that such a very high culture could plunge into the depths of the 12 years of National Socialism? Obviously, this is a very complex question, and many factors went into it. For example, in this same period, the German Classical period and the American Revolution happened almost at the same time…. “What they did when the German Classical thinkers—everybody from Winckelmann to Schiller to Lessing to Goethe—they had revived the ancient Classical tradition. Like the Italian Renaissance, they went back to the highest forms of thinking of philosophy, of culture, which had existed before, and they tried to reconstruct the idea that the truthful beauty and the good are actually a unity. Art is only art when it is beautiful, and when it serves the good, and when it’s truthful. All of these elements have to come together. “What the Romantic poets did was, they immediately replaced this return to the Classical period of Greece to turning to the Middle Ages. They glorified the Middle Ages, and they replaced the Greek reference with the Nordic myths, the Nibelungen saga, Parsifal, Lohengrin, Tristan and Isolde, and some of you may recognize that these were also the subjects which were then used by Wagner for his compositions. He was getting very close to the National Socialists. They started to turn all the notions of the Classical period and softened them…. “And while I don’t want to go into all of these people’s work in detail, they were crazy! If you read their novels, they all are schizophrenic, the behavior of people who have fantasies, who have death wishes, dreaming, who want to turn the day into the dream, and everything should vanish into some fantasy…. “So, the challenge today is how can we rediscover our humanity, so that we are able to cope with this incredible strategic situation? In that sense, dealing with Classical art is not a waste of time or a deviation. An article under the above title was published on March 20 in the National Interest by Lyle Goldstein, but not noted by EIR at the time. Goldstein, an Associate Professor in the China Maritime Studies Institute (CMSI) at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, is fluent in both Chinese and Russian, and is a frequent critic of the imperial U.S. thinking and policies.In this case, Goldstein is sending a wake-up call to the war hawks in the United States who are acting as though the U.S. were still the only superpower and could dictate policies at will under the misconception that no country can withstand U.S. military force. Goldstein reviews the recent developments of China’s nuclear arsenal. He starts with a 2015 graphic from Naval & Merchant Ships, a Chinese journal, which shows the “impact of a Chinese intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) strike by twenty nuclear-armed rockets against the United States,” destroying most of the major U.S. cities. Beyond that, Goldstein notes, the missile used in the graphic was the “DF-5 first generation ICBM. In other words, the illustration is perhaps a decade or more out of date. As China has deployed first the road-mobile DF-31, then DF-31A and now JL-2 (a submarine-launched nuclear weapon), China’s nuclear strategy has moved from ‘assured retaliation’ to what one may term ‘completely assured retaliation.’” This brings to mind Tulsi Gabbard’s recent tweet: “Are we prepared to see our loved ones burn alive in a nuclear holocaust in a war with Russia over Ukraine? If not, cut out the macho saber rattling and deescalate before it’s too late.” Goldstein reports on the appearance of several articles in Chinese press calling on the government to carry out a nuclear weapon buildup to match China’s role as a major power, but others insisting that the country must retain only “small, elite and effective nuclear forces” as a deterrence. Goldstein’s conclusion is most important: “As one can see from this discussion, there is ample reason for anxiety with many new Chinese nuclear systems now coming online, as well as substantial reason for optimism. As an author who frequently rides China’s high-speed rail [高铁], I am acutely aware that astronomical sums of money spent on that system could just as easily have been spent building an enormous arsenal of nuclear weaponry. That was not done and it’s certainly good that Chinese leaders have their priorities straight. That appears to be the intention of the government in Ukraine, put in place in 2014 by the Obama Administration with significant help from Gerorge Soros and the “regime change” experts at the National Endowment for Democracy. At the time, Obama gave Vice President Joe Biden the portfolio for overseeing the regime change against the elected government of Ukraine, working together with neoconservative killer Victoria Nuland, then the Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs, to put the overtly neo-Nazi followers of Hitler’s Ukrainian asset Stepan Bandera into power in Kiev. Now, Biden (or at least his senile current self) and Nuland are back, as President and Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs. They are pushing for Ukraine and its fascist leaders to be brought into NATO. Ukraine’s Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk told the German press that Germany’s responsibility for the Nazi holocaust requires that it “must play a leading role in order for Ukraine to become a NATO member, and as quickly as possible, with no ‘ifs’ or ‘buts.’” Failure to do so will mean a new large-scale war in Europe, he implied. Consider the implication: Pay compensation for having allowed the Nazi Holocaust by placing Nazis in power in Ukraine, to provoke yet another war on Russia? Do the citizens of the Western world not recall that it was Russia that fought the vast majority of the battles with the Nazis in the Great Patriotic War, as the Soviet Union called it, and lost by far the greatest number of casualties among its citizens? Are they oblivious to the fact that Russia is watching NATO expand its nuclear-armed forces up to Russia’s borders, that the U.S. has unilaterally ended most of the arms limitation treaties, and that the NATO powers have appointed themselves superior to the UN Security Council, established to prevent another global war, by imposing sanctions without Security Council approval, and waging regime-change wars without Security Council approval? Ambassador Melnyk went further: If Ukraine is not accepted into NATO, he said, then the only option is “to arm by ourselves, and maybe think about nuclear status again.” Nazis armed with nuclear weapons. Who could allow it? As you will see below, the answer is British intelligence. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has been taking orders from MI6 Chief Richard Moore. In a two-hour meeting in London last October, described by Zelensky as being about “helping and protecting our sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Moore and Zelensky set in motion plans for more U.S. and U.K. armaments for Ukraine, open support for Kiev’s Nazi militia assults on the Donbas, shutting down the remaining opposition press in Ukraine, and even reconsideration of the 1994 Budapest Memorandum by which Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons. Citizens of good will in the U.S., the U.K. and the EU do not have the privilege to ignore this rush to thermonuclear obliteration. The wars and sanctions policies now threatening the death of millions in Syria, Yemen and elsewhere, must also be stopped.
